Tonight's stream of Dead of Alive saw us going through Time Attack mode for the majority of the cast to unlock Tengu, and some runs were below five minutes but we had a few characters that we struggle learning. Tried Tag Time Trial, and time were just awful... and we couldn't even beat ten opponents in Survival mode.
Still, for a final night featuring this game, it was pretty positive, and now we can move on from it!
Tomorrow night we're also playing Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League, mostly just roaming around, leveling and causing casual mayhem! Basically it's filler as planned!
For the raid we dropped in on chronick17 who was also playing Suicide Squad Kill The Justice League
Work was okay, got some interviews, not a fan of the assignment, but gotta do what we gotta do!
Got a fair bit of writing done on the WWE commission... would have had more written, but my work schedule being different interfered with that
Dead or Alive 4 Achievements
Unlocked "Tengu": Unlocked the hidden character "Tengu."
Total Play Time 10 Hrs.: The total play time reached the 10 hour mark.
Tonight we were playing Overwatch 2, and we were joined by PandaSweet for the entire stream. We had plenty of wins and losses, and we had fun. Because of the crossover with Cowboy Bebop, I did put an effort in playing as Ashe, Mauga, Cassidy and Sombra who have sins as Faye, Jet, Spite and Ed, plus we also had matches as D.va, Orissa, Junker Queen, Wrecking Ball and Moira.
Tomorrow night we're doing one more stream dedicated to Dead or Alive 4 with the goal of trying to unlock Tengu!
For the raid we drooped in on intergalacticpants who was playing Rise of the Tomb Raider
Did some groceries today, was not able to get all the things I wanted not because of cost... but because Shop Rite was sold out!
Finished the second of four WWE related commission stories, and before I go to bed I'll start work on the fourth.... pretty much have to since I'm losing my normal writing time all this week thanks to work.
Happy Birthday to my Aunt Grance!
Played a littled Suicide Squad Kill The Justice League earlier today and managed to pick up another achievement. Also realized that the one achievement I'm waiting on as well as some in-game collectables that should unlock because of chapter progression did not unlock as well
Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League Achievements
Number the Dead: Defeat 10 Raising Hell Hit Squads
We got a fair bit done in Ghost of Tsushima this evening, picking up a handful of trophies as we liberated all areas in the Izuhara portion of the map and began work on the next area. Also ended up getting five of the six keys for a special armor, which was pretty cool as I avoided doing major story stuff.
Tomorrow night's stream will be dedicated to Suicide Squad Kill The Justice League as we work on additional achievements.
For the raid we dropped in on sakuramurayama who was play playing Judgment
Updating schedule for next week will be as follows
Sunday: Overwatch Monday: Dead or Alive 4 (last stream of it) Tuesday: Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League Wednesday: Fantasy Baseball Draft Stream Thursday: Star Wars The Force Unleashed II Friday: Ghost of Tsushima Saturday: Star Wars The Force Unleashed II
Work was solid tonight, but now my work schedule for next week is going to completely disrupt working on writing, as Monday and Tuesdays I have hours from about 1 to 5, then Wednesday to Friday probably from 3 to 7. It's going to suck
Didn't get any writing done today because I woke up super late... mostly thanks to how long it took me to record my review for Suicide Suqad Kill the Justice League (which took three hours last night)
Ghost of Tsushima (PS4) Trophies
Gifted: Collect 10 gifts.
A Fight For The Isle….: Liberate all occupied areas in Izuhara.
Witness Protection: Shoot a Terrified enemy with an arrow while they are fleeing.
Tonight we finished Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League, and if I thought fighting Superman was a pain in the ass, Brainiac was even more so, since that was a souped-up version of the Flash boss fight. Still we got several achievement thanks to how things progress to the story. All in all I really enjoyed it, and it is just a big budget version of Agents of Mayhem, and I will continue to make that comparison.
Now since this is a 'live service game', replaying it from the start can only be done via chapter select to replay various missions, but I do recommend folks play it.
I do think I will keep it in the weekly line up, moving it to Monday nights not next week but the following one, since the first season expansion is coming soon, so we can see how that works out, plus if there are achievements being added, I would hate to miss out on them. Plus I suspect with Joker being added to the roster, that will be a good time to try on-line play.
Suicide Squad will be back on Saturday's stream, as we chase more achievements and work on getting everyone to level 30 before determining which character will be my 'main'.
Tomorrow's stream will feature Ghost of Tsushima with the big focus on clearly out the invaded areas in the first area of the map.
For the raid tonight, we dropped in on SweetLindir who was playing Hunt: Showdown
Work was really good, seven interviews on the Health and Wellness Study/
My YouTube Channel is now up to 346 subscribers thanks to the shorts, wonder if at some point I'll be able to earn something from it. Probably not.
Finished the first of four back to back to back to back WWE related story requests, this was was for the SubscribeStar Commission Tier. At least with the next two some extra funds will be earned.
Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League Achievements
Their Dark Designs: Achieve 26 Stars in Riddler AR Challenges
Your World is Mine!: Complete the final Lex Luthor Support Squad Mission
War Machine: Complete the final Gizmo Support Squad Mission
Shock Treatment: Complete the final Hack Support Squad Mission
No One Defeats Brainiac!: Kill The Collector of Worlds
We got a lot done in Dead or Alive 4, finishing the story mode with all characters, which lead to unlocking Spartan-458, and then I started doing time trials. Oddly enough, getting the Bronze and Gold achievements for singles were 'easy' in comparison to the Silver one, which needs to be done in less than 5 minutes but more than 4 minutes 30.
I'm still keeping DOA 4 on the line up for next week as I'm looking to unlock Tengu. There is a question about going after all the costumes, which would require going through time trials on normal settings (2 rounds, 99 seconds), which could take a long time to do.
Either way, the game is finished as the credits rolled, so I'll be doing a Casual Review and will have a few things to say about it.
Tomorrow stream will feature Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League, we're going to focus on leveling first then do a couple of things to progress the story. I'm really wanting to stretch things out.
For the raid we dropped in on smoresdafloof who was playing Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII - Reunion
Work was a big of a slog tonight, didn't get an interview done until after we switched assignments
Started work on the next commission story, which is based on Fairy Tail and is a continuation of sorts to two prior stories based on that anime / manga. I figure this story is about 30% complete.
Would have had more of that done but I dozed off on my recliner shortly after having breakfast.
Dead or Alive 4 Achievements
Unlocked "Helena": Unlocked the hidden character "Helena."
Completed All Story Modes: Completed Story Mode with all characters.
Unlocked "SPARTAN-458": Unlocked the hidden character "SPARTAN-458."
Bronze in Time Attack (Single): Completed all of the Time Attack Mode single battles within 6 minutes.
Gold in Time Attack (Single): Completed all of the Time Attack Mode single battles within 4 minutes 30 seconds.
Silver in Time Attack (Single): Completed all of the Time Attack Mode single battles within 5 minutes.
Overwatch 2 tonight was very hit and miss, sure we won a few, but I swear a lot of folks were playing like idiots, and my natural instinct to not condone stupidity lead to me phoning in several matches. Played matches as Junker Queen, Moira, Ashe, Lucio, Orissa, Sombra and a handful of others.
Big thank you to PandaSweet for being apart of tonight's stream.
Tomorrow nights stream will feature Dead or Alive 4, we're opening with Story Mode runs for the last default three characters, then we're doing Helena's before focusing on Time Trials.
For tonight's raid we dropped in on intergalacticpants who was playing Rise of the Tomb Raider
Since WB Games has announced they are going to de-list a lot of games, made sure to nab that Samurai Jack game that came out fairly recently.
Speaking of WB Games, jumped into Suicide Squad early this morning to track down the last remaining Riddler trophies, so that's another achievement we have in that game
Nearly finsiehd the NFL related SubscribeStar Commission tier story I was working on yesterday, just have another section to complete and then its done
Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League Achievements
The Oldest One in the Book!: Collect 40 Riddler Trophies
Tonight's stream of Dead or Alive 4 saw a big focus on the story modes, as we got through quite a few for various characters, and I certainly was shocked by a couple of things I saw (Jann Lee kicking a T-Rex topping the list). We managed to get a few achievements, as well as unlocking a few characters as we put in some quality time on a pretty much forgotten fighting game.
Tomorrow night's stream will feature Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League as we focus on leveling up each character equally, so we may night advance the plot much if at all.
For tonight's raid we dropped in on SweetLindi who was playing Remnant II
Work today was pretty good with a community health survey, and folks were more or less happy to take part.
Finished the Spider-Man commission and got started on the Star Wars commission that almost seemed like it was going to be scrapped.
Still have not been paid for one of the Dragon Ball commission from last week. That guy is now black listed as far as I'm concerned.
Picked up several strategy guides for various games that we may be featuring at some point, including Dragon Age II, Final Fantasy XIII-2, and Tomb Raider Legend
Dead or Alive 4 Achievements
Unlocked "Ein": Unlocked the hidden character "Ein.
Unlocked "Gen Fu": Unlocked the hidden character "Gen Fu."
Unlocked "Leon": Unlocked the hidden character "Leon."
Total Play Time 5 Hrs.: The total play time reached the 5 hour mark.
Tonight's stream of Overwatch featured way too many instances of odd things happening, such as real suspicious aim tracking to a degree I've never seen before. Anyway, big thank you to PandaSweet for being apart of what was an odd night, that did have some hilarious moments.
Tomorrow night's stream will feature Dead or Alive 4, we'll be doing Story Mode runs with various characters, hopefully we can pick up and achievement or two
For the raid we dropped in on samaell_alwahm who was playing League of Legends
Got a fair bit of writing done on a Spider-Man commission which should be wrapped up tomorrow, just need to write the back end of it which I should be able to tackle in the morning.
Dude got back to me regarding a Star Wars commission so that is back on my agenda and will be the next one I write.
Also messed around with Suicide Squad early on and picked up another achievement. Really considering this making this a long haul on stream game once we finish the campaign in order to grind out achievements.
Then again I could do that for Final Fantasy XIII too!
Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League Achievements
Tonight we started playing Dead or Alive 4, and safe to say, the A.I. on Normal difficulty was giving me fits. In fact it took me nearly 30 minutes to clear a simple time attack! So odds are that I'm not going to get many achievements in this game, but at the very least we'll get through the story mode for every character... because that is the classic Arcade ladder format. We all ready did three tonight, so I figure we'll get quite a few streams out of DOA4 in the coming weeks. So basically Mondays will be about the jiggles and the juggles
Tomorrow night we're starting up Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League, which should be exciting!
For the raid we dropped in on swashbucklet who was playing Final Fantasy XIII-2
We had work today and we closed out the assignment that we had rolling from last week, and apparently we have something tomorrow so here's hoping we're in a hot stretch!
Finished writing the Dragon Ball commission which ended up being about 4500 words. Next story on the docket will involve The Flash.
Xbox had some weird bugs that resulted in my wish list of games to be erased. So now I need to remember what was on it!
Need to remember to make some more Ice Tea tomorrow.
Tonight we featured Overwatch 2, and of course, we were joined by PandaSweet as we struggled with 'unique' teammates. I totally forgot that I have to do the various character runs for the missions to unlock profile information. My aim really continues to improve using Ashe, as I'm hovering around a 50% accuracy when using the scope
Tomorrow we're starting up Dead or Alive 4
For the raid we went over to Kalenal who was playing Final Fantasy XIV
Speaking of Final Fantasy, I jumped back into Final Fantasy XIII today to grind out CP and to tackle some achievements, so I know have 66% of its achievements. Woo-Hoo!
Took me awhile to figure out the intro for the Dragon Ball Commission, but got it done, next will be writing the actual action sequences for it. Which may take up the rest of the night and most of the tomorrow.
Final Fantasy XIII Achievements
Limit Breaker: Dealt 100,000+ damage with a single attack.
Tonight we wrapped up Final Fantasy XIII, and I have to say, even with knowing there are direct sequels to it, I'm satisfied with the ending. Even if the entire premise of the plot seems to take place over the course of seven days, if what was said at the end of the game was any indication. Total play time was about 60 hours and we unlocked over half of the achievements. Will I play it again start to finish, probably not, but I do see myself going back to it to grind for various achievements that I feel are doable (Namely the Commando,Ravenger and Medic Seals).
So with Final Fantasy XIII wrapped up, that means we're going to be starting a new main game this week, and it's going to be Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, which we'll get started on Tuesday. But we're also going to bring in Dead or Alive 4 on Monday, as I really liked the time we spent dedicated to Skullgirls. So basically the line up going forward will be
Sunday Nights: Overwatch 2 Monday Nights: Dead or Alive 4 Tuesday Nights: Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League Wednesday Nights: Sea of Thieves Thursday Nights: Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League Friday Nights; Ghost of Tsushima Saturday Nights: Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League
Big thanks to Kalenal for the raid following their stream tonight!
For our raid we dropped in on intergalacticpants who was playing Baldur's Gate 3
Finished writing the Mass Effect commission request, which took longer than expected. Next up on the commission docket is a Dragon Ball story. I'll be working on that when I wake up
Final Fantasy XIII Achievements
Instrument of Change: Witnessed the dawn of a new crystal legend
Last night's stream ended up being a triple header with Dead or Alive 1 Ultimate, #SinucaAttack and Gears of War 5: Ultimate Edition.
Now last year at one point, we played the PlayStation version of Dead or Alive, which was released in 1998 and it surprised me with how smoothly it played. Last night we played Dead or Alive 1: Ultimate... which was released in 2004... and it is inferior to the PlayStation version. How could that be? Dead or Alive Ultimate was a remake right? Well only Dead or Alive 2 saw a remake in that release... Dead or Alive 1: Ultimate is a straight port of the Sega Saturn version, without two characters or some of the extra optimization the PlayStation version had. We mostly played as Tina, but also played as Kasumi as well. On a side note, despite being backwards comparable, the only features for DOA1:Ultimate does not work.
#SinucaAttack obviously is something i messed around with one night prior, and it ended up being featured last night on stream because of my disappointed with DOA1:Ultimate. We started from the beginning and managed to get past where I stopped playing the previous night, and saw that additional gimmicks like a jetpack ends up being introduced into the game.
Lastly, with Iceman's help, we wrapped up Gears of War: Ultimate Edition, getting all the collectables (aka the COG tags), and experiencing the 'additional' part that was not in the original version of the game. There was one particularly moment that featured the Brumak getting way to close to me, and well you don't see me panic much, but that was certainly a time for it!
Gears of War: Ultimate Edition Achievements
Know Place Like Home: Discovered Adam's secret lab
YEEEEHAAAAA!: Escaped from the Brumak (end of Ch.6)
Power Up: Restored power to the bridge
Marcus? Is That You?: Restored communications with Control
Shock Therapy: Killed the Brumak
All Aboard! Uh... We're Aboard!: Boarded the Imulsion bound train with the Lightmass Bomb
For the Fallen: Recovered all 33 COG tags
I Can't Quit You Dom: Completed all acts in co-op
Mercenary: Completed all acts on Casual Difficulty
A Dish Best Served Cold: Defeated General RAAM
So what's next with Iceman and I in what has been weekly adventures going back for nearly two years? Well we're not sure, at some point 'Insane' difficulty runs of the Gears games is something I'd like to attempt. There is some consideration for either Resident Evil 5 and 6, which are also both co-op games. Iceman has said he wants to make sure I do the Keenly College event in The Division 2 at least once, but because that's a random event, it makes it nearly impossible to plan for, having to keep an eye out for it.
For the raid we dropped in on LifewithStan who was playing Elden Ring over on twitch.tv/lifewithstan!
You know what's funny... I forgot to put the highlight video on my Facebook page last night and had to scramble to remake it.
Today's Fitness Boxing 2 daily workout featured Uppercut Combo #!, Triple Combo #1 and Body Straight Combo. Even though I had work today, I did work in some extra free training, and set new personal bests for Difficult Challenge Combo #3 and Difficult Challenge Combo #2, scoring perfects on both. Today was also day 626 in a row going back to when I started with the original Fitness Boxing... that means in 40 days it would be... well you can do the math.
Extended my Xbox achievement streak through today by knocking out the last two achievements that I think are possible with SSX that doesn't require 'getting good' at the game. Current streak is at 42 days.
SSX Achievements
Gear Up!: Make your first Gear Purchase
I'm Flying!: Deploy your wingsuit for the first time (not achievable in Tutorial)
Tonight's stream will feature Final Fantasy XIV, mostly just relaxing and making light progress on things as we'll be taking it easy!
Last night's stream of Overwatch certainly was interesting with a lot of overly aggressive matches, some suspect new comers and other craziness. There was one Lucio who seemingly got their 'Soundwave' back faster than usual, keeping in mind, all matches were just Quick Play bouts, and it didn't help they appeared to be a smurf. So his bony ass got reported as so as something was noticed.
Big thanks to BangBangBang713 for joining in on several matches, always awesome to play with members of the community! Picked up one play of the game as D.va, and got in a few matches as her, Moira and Mei this evening, and I did use Reinhardt for part of one match and Tracer as a back fill in another.
For the raid we dropped in on Redneck_23 who was just doing a Just Chatting stream over on twitch.tv/redneck_23!
For today's Fitness Boxing 2 daily workout lasted 31 minutes with Weaving Combo #2, Straight Combo #1 and Beginner Combo #2 for an estimated calorie burn of 482 kcal.
Messed around more with Moral Kombat IX to earn some basic achievements, we'll most likely dedicate time to the Story Mode this week, maybe for Saturday's stream perhaps.
Mortal Kombat Achievements
Complet-ality: Perform 1 of each type of "-ality"
Finish Him?: Perform any fighter's hidden finishing move
Tag, You're It!: Perform and land a Tag Combo
Robots Rule!: Win Arcade Tag Ladder with robot Sektor and Cyrax
Capcom officially announced Street Fighter VI, and here's hoping it's not just limited to the PlayStation side of the console market. That was easily the biggest drawback about Street Fighter V. That said, I'm more excited for the Capcom Fighting Collection that will be coming out this summer, which will include every Darkstalkers game, plus other stuff like Red Earth, Cyberbots, Super Puzzle Fighter II, Pocket Fighter and the Anniversary edition of Hyper Street Fighter II.
We added a few things to X-Box side of heavy considerations for streaming in the future
Light Fairytale Episode 1 & 2
The Adventures of Elena Temple: Definitive Edition
Doctor Who: The Lonely Assassins
Binary Domain
Dead of Alive 1 Ultimate
Dead or Alive 2 Ultimate
Dead or Alive 3 Ultimate
Elena Temple is a retro styled platformer, Heard Binary Domain was a lot like Gears of War, so that could be interesting, of course the Dead or Alive Ultimate versions of the first three games that were on the original X-Box is more for easy completion. Light Fairytale is an episodic turn-based JRPG that apparently didn't do well enough to warrant the series continuing... and the Doctor Who game is another odd-ball licensed by the BBC instead of giving the franchise a proper video game experience.
That is something that always bugged me, outside of the 11th Doctor era, there has not been much of note for the Doctor Who franchise in the realm of video games. To be honest, the show does lend itself more towards the point and click adventure style of video game, which we got with the Doctor Who: Adventure Games, but there was a fairly decent action platformer as well with Doctor Who: The Eternity Clock, and I believe the last major release was your basic Candy Crush styled game in the form of Doctor Who: Infinity.
For tonight's stream we're going to start up Tell Me Why, which is a narrative driven game developed by DONTNOD. I've heard good things about it, and I figure this might take two, at the most three streams to finish.
If there is any proof that I will feature some random nonsense on my Twitch channel last night proved it.
And yes as you can tell we played Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe last night, and it's a game I haven't fully touched in a very long time. I think maybe we took a quick look at the PS3 one last year at some point, but for me to sit down and play it for several hours I feel the last time I did that was maybe 10 years ago. For the stream, we used the digital 360 version that is on the list of X-Box's backwards compatible games
For those who don't know, MKvDC was like Midway's last gasp before they were bought out by Warner Brothers and became Nether Realm Studios, and is the rather unusual crossover between Mortal Kombat and DC Comics. The story is Shao Khan and Darkseid are merged into one being because at the same time Superman and Raiden try to stop them as they were teleporting away, and now the two universes are merging.
Gameplay wise... it's the 3D arena style that Midway was using for the Mortal Kombat series through out the PlayStation 2 era, and needless to say, while I can handle that in things like Dead or Alive, Virtua Fighter or even Tekken, it never felt right for the Mortal Kombat series. MKvDC also has probably some of the most wonky A.I. I've ever seen, regardless of difficulty setting, it will suddenly have a spike where the game will beat your ass down. Graphically, it holds up fairly well, there are some weirdness where some stuff looks more like body paint than actual clothing, and some designs are rather odd out right,
But probably the thing that most people remember most about MKvDC is the story mode, as it is the game that basically launched the trend of every fighting game having a cinematic tale where you play as the majority of the roster. MKvDC is unique in that you can see the story from two different points of view, the Mortal Kombat side, and the DC Universe side... which is the one we did for the stream. Some of the story details are goofy, but then again the entire concept of the game itself is goofy.
We will be revisiting Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe again to do the Mortal Kombat side of the story, more than likely that will be next Saturday's stream
For the raid, we sent everyone over to Kalenal who was playing Final Fantasy XIV over at twitch.tv/kalenal!
Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe Achievements
Free Fallin': Perform a Free-Fall Transition
The Pugilist: Perform Klose Kombat
Heroic Brutality!: Perform a Heroic Brutality!
Fatality!: Perform a Fatality!
Combo Champion: Perform a 10-hit combo in Arcade Mode
Mortal Kombat Champion: Finish arcade mode with an MK character
Strange Forces: Complete Chapter 1 - DC Universe
Invasion: Complete Chapter 3 - DC Universe
Unlikely Alliance: Complete Chapter 5 - DC Universe
Universe Reborn: Complete DC Universe Story
Super Hero: Finish arcade mode with a DC character
Today's Fitness Boxing 2 daily workout featured Triple Combo #2, Biceps Shape Focus Combo and Intermediate Combo #1 for 31 minutes with an estimated calorie burn of 540 kcal
Played some Final Fantasy XIV last night off-stream, focused on the Main Story Quest, in particular the quests "For Thavnair Bound", "On Low Tide" & "A Fisherman's Friend" which introduces a new open area and loads of ground to cover. I did like the NPC called Kytte who seems like a quirky genius who might end up getting someone killed with their experiments. Also discovered that some enemies are going to spawn at level 90... which means I'm going to be using my Chocobo companion quite a lot in the field
Also put in more of the grind towards completing all the achievements for Capcom Arcade Stadium while watching The Good, The Bad & The Ugly. At this point I have only one more class related achievement to reach.... but as I mentioned previously, it's to get 100,000,000 CASPO which will give the Class 20 rank, it'll take some serious grinding but it's reachable.
Capcom Arcade Stadium Achievements
Top of the Class: Reach Class 15: Operator.
Now getting back to The Good, The Bad & The Ugly, the version I watched was the extended cut, which runs three hours... and yeah that's a big long. Still the musical score and the pacing makes it a great watch while casually doing something else. Now yes the movie stars Clint Eastwood... but I think the true star of it is Eli Wallach who plays Tuco... who probably gets the most screen time, we get to learn about him, and by the end of the film one is rooting for Blondie (Eastwood) to shoot him down from the noose he put him in. (as pay back for Tuco getting pay back on him... yeah it's complicated)
It's a new week, which means the Twitch Bits video is here to showcase all the games we played over the last seven days. This past week we featured Overwatch, Fist of the North Star: Lost Paradise, Final Fantasy XIV, Forza Horizon 4, Gears 5, Dead or Alive 5: Last Round, Life of Fly, Paladins, Kingdom Hearts III & Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe!
For tonight's stream we'll be featuring Overwatch, as we do every Sunday night.
Last night's stream featured three games, the main feature was Life of Fly... which lasted all of an hour. It's basically a simulator where you fly as a fly from point to point, hearing its thoughts on various topics related to different things. It's a really short game, and if you're looking for games to 100% complete easily, it's the perfect game to grab when it's on sale. Other notes are that is has an awesome musical score and the stories told by the fly in each chapter are rather clever.
And apparently there is a sequel to Life of Fly as well... might have to look into that!
Played some Dead or Alive 5: Last Round on stream, and the last time it was featured was probably back at the start of 2019 when I was doing the story mode of the Steam Version. So doing the story mode on the X-Box version seems like a good idea for something this year. Had a couple of matches against other people that did not go well at all. On the plus side, since I was messing around with Dead or Alive 2: Hardcore last week, some of the stuff I realized that work with Tina in that sure enough still worked in this.
We actually broke out Paladins for the third game, and boy do I remember why I stopped playing it full time once I got into Overwatch. The balancing of some of the characters just doesn't make any damn sense. The things that do bother me more than anything when it comes to Paladins is how, like Smite, it it is designed to screw over players if someone on a team leaves for some reason. On the plus side we were joined by Reaper for several matches.
Big thanks to Sw33ts_Gaming for choosing to re-subscribe to my Twitch channel for the 33rd straight month!
For the raid last night we sent the fun over to sw33ts_gaming who was also playing Paladins over at twitch.tv/sw33ts_gaming! And I even joined in on a few matches as well.
Today's Fitness Boxing 2 Daily Workout featured Hip Shape Focus Combo, Sway Back Combo and Straight Combo #2 for 31 minutes and an estimate calorie burn of 472 kcal.
Taxes were filed and the payment of money owed to the IRS was scheduled... fucking bastards. You know, I am fully aware that that many folks, particularly parents who got assistance during the pandemic are going to get hit hard, makes me wonder why steps to protect folks from this nonsense wasn't taken since the same thing basically happened to millions of people last year.
Meat Loaf and Louie Anderson both passed away. I clearly associate Meat Loaf with a few of his big songs, like Bat out of Hell and I'll Do Anything For Love, but also the Rocky Horror Picture Show. With Anderson, I associate a cartoon that aired on Fox Kids back in the early 90s called Life with Louie... which spawned the 'My Head Looks Like A Tomato' line.
For tonight's stream we will be playing Kingdom Hearts III, as we'll be heading to the world that I believe ties in with the movie Tangled... which I have never seen
God damn did it get cold! Last night following the stream it was 15 degrees! And I didn't get up till like 3 PM Eastern today... so anyway, last night's stream featured four games, and since that was the case, I'm going to give my thoughts on them here right now.
First, there was Dead of Alive 2: Hardcore, and prior to last night, the only DOA games I played were Dead of Alive 5: Last Round (on Steam and XBox One) and the original Dead of Alive (PlayStation). DOA2:HC certainly holds up, it's character models all look great, the game play is still the same so it was very much a pick up and play for me without having to figure out too much, in fact I was surprised some stuff I would use in DOA5:LR worked in DOA2:HC (such as many of Tina's throws!). The story mode was interesting, in that it just give some extra moments of character interactions, but I'm not to sure how I feel of the Tengu as the 'last boss', with how it distorts the screen and having some really cheap tactics.
Second was Dino Stalker, a spin off of the Dino Crisis games, Dino Stalker sees the hero Mike Wired, getting transported to another dimension where he he ends up having to fight dinosaurs to stop something catastrophic from happening. This is a light gun game, but it can be played with a controller... and outside of instances where I feel I've having to fight the movement controls, it is fairly solid and certainly playable.I made it through the first three levels with only one death and that was due more to me not realizing I can destroy objects to reach new areas, and thus I ran out of time!
Third was Power Rangers; Super Legends... and it's certainly better than Power Rangers: Time Force. Released to celebrate the franchises 15th anniversary, Super Legends is a side-scrolling beat 'em up that does reward exploration to find hidden items and secrets, but it can be a straight forward experience if that is what one prefers. It is an oddly 'quite game' as even at max volume, it certainly didn't sound as loud as say most games from the PlayStation 2 error. We cleared the first couple of levels with a fair amount of difficulty, plus one Mega Zord battle, which was... interesting.
Lastly, the final game of the night was WWE SmackDown: Here Comes The Pain... and I have always thought this game was overrated. Some of the character models looked okay, but in comparison to Dead or Alive 2: Hardcore which we played earlier in the night, HCTP has not aged well. Here the face of Trish Stratus doesn't even look as if it belonged on her body from some angle. That said, the game play certainly took a lot of getting use to again... and the A.I., even on Normal, can be down right brutal (can't even think how I use to play this on its hardest difficulty setting). Since I still have my memory cards, I had a save file with every thing unlocked, so that was fun at least.
Of course a little detail about last night's stream is that I set up a new scean in OBS to use when playing older games whose aspects ratios were 4:3 (mostly for the original PlayStation and PS2 things in my library), and added a little feature that shows the game title on screen as well.
Following the stream, for the raid, we dropped in on Kalenal as they were playing Final Fantasy XIV! They stream three times a week over on twitch.tv/kalenal!
Today's Fitness Boxing 2 daily workout featured Double Combo #2, Left-Right Step Combo and Advanced Combo #2 for a duration of 31 minutes and a calorie burn of 561 kcal. Normally I would do a little extra on top of the daily, but since my butt didn't get out of bed till the middle of the afternoon, I just stuck with the daily.
My off-stream Final Fantasy XIV adventures saw me start up the 5.5 content starting with Unto the Breach, and and I went roaming around unlocking a couple of more 'job' classes with in the game as well, because at some point I will be needing to expand what roles I utilize! Though I am content being the clueless Bard... I just do Damage, so no one expects me to be on point for heals or pulls as a tank! There was a particularly charming moment with Estinien confusing Alisaie for her brother Alphinaud. Sure they are twins, but how can anyone confuse Alisaie for her brother upon first meeting! Their hair parts on different sides and Alisaie carries a rapier! Rather surprised that Alisaie let the Azure Dragoon live after that to be honset.
It's Sunday, which means its Twitch Bits time to highlight all the games we played last week in a little video! This past week we played Overwatch, Fist of the North Star: Lost Paradise, Forza Horizon 4, Gears 5, Final Fantasy XIV, Kingdom Hearts III, Dead or Alive 2: Hardcore, Dino Stalker, Power Rangers: Super Legends and WWE SmackDown: Here Comes The Pain!
For tonight's stream, we're playing Overwatch, as we do every Sunday!
Last night's stream of Final Fantasy XIV certainly was Main Story heavy...and that wasn't my intention, it actually was to handle the Eden side-story... but it turns out that would have been among the first stuff in the game I've seen that was effect by COVID, as its clear some stuff was cut and shuffled around.
So my attention turned to doing the Main Story Quest on stream, which meant a lot of cut scenes with voiced and non-voiced dialog, general running around from place to place. The good news is that outside of the abrupt '...and then the Scions went home' line of dialog in the epilogue of Hope's Confluence, everything was pretty smooth.
Granted, the action was rather light, but the pay off was epic in terms of Elidibus committing his last acts of a desperation, even when the truth was right in front of him that he had no fight left to fight, that he lost a long time ago. The trial, titled Seat of Sacrifice, was certainly epic, and had a nice pay off with Emet-Selch helping out certainly had me asking questions (and thankfully Kalenal was able to answer them.)
So now my attention if Final Fantasy XIV turns towards finishing the 5.3 content off-stream as well as getting back to the Eden side-story, as clearly there is a lot more to happen with that than meets the eye.
For the raid, we sent the fun over to Wolfeey_ who we found on Hover, they were playing Genshin Impact. Their twitch channel is over at twitch.tv/wolfeey_!
Today's Fitness Boxing 2 daily workout had me doing Intermediate Combo #2, Weaving Combo #1 and Advanced Combo #1 for 31 minutes resulting in an estimated calorie burn of 486 kcal.
Knocked out two what I deemed 'do-able' achievements for Dead or Alive 5: Last Round, the remaining achievements involve dealing with the tutorial, and character combo and combat commands, both 'cliffhanger' achievements, and playing 100 online matches. The last one would be 'do-able', but people have a habit of not accepting matches when one becomes available to them. This also continued my current streak of having 34 days with at least one X-Box achievement unlocked with a total of 236
Dead or Alive 5 Last Round Achievements
The Power of Two: Do 10 different character-specific tag throws.
Training Hard: Play Free Training mode for 1 hour.
Also, knocked out two more achievements Microsoft Solitaire Collection, and if I was smart I would have held off on doing these to help extend the daily streak... oh well.
Microsoft Solitaire Collection (UWP) Achievements
Expedition Leader: Took 14 cards off the board in a row without using the stock in TriPeaks
Dig, Dig, Dig!: Won a three-board game of Pyramid on Hard difficulty or higher
For tonight's stream, we are focused on level grinding in Pokemon Shining Pearl, to build up my squad to deal with the Elite Four and the Champion Cynthia. Way I figure, I need to get the entire team up into the upper 70s to low 80s to deal with that gauntlet, which is a hell of a lot higher than what I needed to finish off Pokemon Shield and Pokemon Let's Go Eevee!
Last night's stream of Overwatch was the wrap up of the chase for the three Winter Event skins for 2021, with the goal on unlocking the Peppermint Bark skin for Brigitte. Surprisingly we had quite a few wins and some good matches along the way... with one exception, a match where I had to report five people for game play sabotage. Still we got in matches as D.va, Winston, Reinhardt, Mercy, Brigitte, Moira, Tracer, Bastion and Mei. Actually set a new personal best for freezing people in a round with 18 as Mei so that was pretty cool (Pun intended). Plays of the game were earned as D.va, Reinhardt and Winston!
Something I realized that I forgot to do was to put together the video of all the Plays of the Game I had in Overwatch for last year. Granted it only goes back to February 20, because of the computer issues that occurred, but hey I remembered to do it. Overall I earned 246 Plays of the Game, goes to show I can have my fair share of big moments. Sadly, three clips had issues with how they were saved, so we just roll with the other 243. The video itself will be an hour and 40 minutes. At the time of this post, it was 65% uploaded to YouTube.
Big thank you to LvStrkr for re-subbing to the channel during the stream, the continued support is always appreciated!
Following the stream we sent the fun over to Flint_Locke who was doing a read aloud of the visual novel Higurashi no Naku Koro ni: Tsumihoroboshi! You can check them out over at twitch.tv/flint_locke!
Today's Fitness Boxing 2 daily workout featured Hook Combo #2, Beginner Combo #1 and Front-Back Step Combo for a duration of 28 minutes and an estimated calorie burn of 439 kcal. Now here is the progress on the EX Achievements I'm currently grinding towards
49/50 Hours Trained with Karen for Karen's Champion
388/400 Stamps Acquired for Honored Stamper
530,360/540,000 total HITs for Immortal Weight Puncher
84/100 percent of all EX Achievements acquired for King EX Fighter
I should be able to knock off the Karen's Champion achievement sometime this week, while both Honored Stamper and Immortal Weight Puncher seem like things I might be able to accomplish towards the end of next week.
With Jump Force 100% completed, my attention for X-Bos achievements turns to Dead or Alive 5 Last Round. I knocked off a bunch in the summer of 2020, so now is seeing which ones of the remaining I can get. Some of them involve the tutorial and I hate that with fighting games, so I think I'll focus on things involving time played, mainly one hour in free training and the 100 online matches. But here are the ones I did accomplish tonight.
Dead or Alive 5 Last Round Achievements
Rival Rampage: Fight online 10 times.
Anybody, Anytime, Anywhere: Set "Throwdowns" to "Accept" and have 10 Throwdowns in Versus, Arcade, or Free Training mode.
Change of Power: Press H+P+K during a Power Blow to tag in a partner and deliver a Tag Power Blow.
On the Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection side of things, Street Fighter II Hyper Fighting was knocked off the list of games in the collection to beat, so that just leaves the original Street Fighter and Super Street Fighter II: The New Challengers.
Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection Achievements
Hyperactive: Beat Street Fighter II': Hyper Fighting.
I advanced the plot in Final Fantasy XIV yesterday afternoon with the
main story quests A Sleep Disturbed and An Old Friend. The first saw an interesting take on the Riddle of the Sphinx and a surprising battle
that was really well thought out, which made me kind of wish it was a
trial or raid. The second quest basically sets the tone that Elidibus is
going to be a lot more direct with his intention to be bring back the
world he helped destroyed.... but considering this is taking place in
the post game of Shadowbringers, it does raise some questions.
Ghostbusters: Afterlife was listed as being available digitally today, but I guess that was a false date as now it's listed for tomorrow, January 4th
For tonight's stream we shall be hooking up the PS4 to continue Fist of the North Star: Lost Paradise, maybe I'll try to use the wireless controller to see if we can do the one set of bartender mini-games that is not possible with a wired controller.
Last night's stream was completely focused on New Pokemon Snap as we put in the time to finish the game. This would be the first game we started paired with Star Trek Online on Thursdays to be spun-off and finished... which meant we put in 5+ hours in. Now I'm assuming most people who have played this were going through it super quick, while I happily re-ran courses to get photos of different Pokemon and struggled slightly with realizing there were obvious puzzles in place. Still it was a lot of fun.
Now in terms of replay value, New Pokemon Snap certainly has one hell of a long post-game, where you have to get 4 different kind of diamond ranked level photos of every Pokemon... and who knows how many levels per course there is in it. Either way, it's a game that would keep most people busy for a long time because it's certainly not meant to be binged-played.
Anyway we have clips from last night of moments that stood out to me!
Next is the Highlight Reel For This Past week where we played: Fitness Boxing 2:
Rhythm & Exercise, Overwatch, Mass Effect: Legendary Edition, Power
Rangers: Battle for the Grid, Tom Clancy's The Division, Dead or Alive,
Star Trek Online, Tekken, The Simpsons: Wrestling, God of War & New
Pokemon Snap!
Finished up the 1909 APBA Baseball Season I've been playing, and amazingly I was able to have the Detroit Tigers finish in first play, 1.5 games ahead of the Philadelphia Athletics. What made it possible was the fact that the scheduled for the 1909 season is what it ended up being at the end of 1909 when the season finished 112 years ago, which meant that the Athletics had a lot of double headers which burned out their pitching staff. The Tigers staff in game was not exactly in great shape, as I had to let everyone complete the games they started, which meant I had guys pitching into extra innings! It's amazing how much having pitchers have a maximum batters face limit can make things gut wretching. Also some in-game teams' pitching staffs were totally wasted that they had to use position players to start! I'll post stats and stuff later today.
Today's Fitness Boxing 2 daily workout lasted 31 minutes with an estimated calorie burn of 498 kcal, but we did a little extra so the total session lasted 43 minutes with an estimated calorie burn 685 kcal. We're now up to 57 out of 100 for the Evan's Best Friend Achievement. Today's session was also stream on Twitch, at 5:30 AM... because I woke up and couldn't fall back asleep. Anyway, that also means we have some clips.
It's Sunday, which means we're kicking off a new week with Overwatch! We're gonna have fun, or at least try to, who knows how much the random people I'll play with will let me down!
And on that note we'll see you later over on twitch.tv/fredcasden!
