Marvel's Midnight Suns and other notes

We advanced the plot a good deal, with the parchment of power now in Robbie, seeing that it was Mephisto who took Magik and that everyone had nightmares about the Hunter. No achievements unlocked, but progress on two achievements appears to be glitched.

Work was solid except for one bitch whose ego was beyond belief 

Finished the Resident Evil commission, now waiting to be paid for it. Though the client has not responded to status update emails.

Started the next commission project which involves Supergirl and Red Hood in a DC Universe story inspired by Dead in the Family

Marvel's Midnight Suns and other notes

Our first night of Marvel's Midnight Suns was pretty good, the game looks good, and it's combat system is pretty interesting as it card and tactics, so not quite like Persona 5 Tactica, but close enough for me to understand the basics. We are playing it on Story Mode.

I do like we'll have an opportunity to roam around the hub world, kind of like how I would when playing Mass Effect, going around the Normandy or Citadel between missions. Looking forward to seeing how the plot and stuff moves forward.

So yes, Marvel's Midnight Suns will return tomorrow night!

My power went out on my from a little after 5 PM to a bit around 8 PM, basically negating my entire work shift for today. Seeing as how the property tax for my home is due on August 1st (and I have yet to see the next update on what that amount will be), I'm annoyed, especially seeing as how the July 4th Holiday is going to be problematic.

Got a lot of writing done in the Mass Effect story commission, mainly writing non-action scenes for world building purposes. I do have two full scenes to write, and if I make the story long enough I can make up for the power outage today.

Also, I hate this heatwave, I hate when it's over 70 degrees at night, it makes it impossible for me to sleep!

Persona 4 Golden and other notes

Tonight's stream of Persona 4 Golden was a lot of slice of life stuff as I finished all of the Social Links I could (need one more for Adachi), read all the books, registered 100 cards and made 5 meals. This was certainly a very visual novel heavy stream.

Made the choice not to go for completing all the side-quests, as there is no real value to them given the rewards for what left are not worth it. 

We're at 99% on the compendium, but the final one needed is tied to Adachi's social link, so do one and then get the other.

Persona 4 Golden will return on Saturday's stream, and we're going to see about finishing it!

Tonight's stream opened with my not realizing that I didn't start the stream, so some of the early stuff with me and Iceman was cut out. But we got a fair amount of loot found, and picked up a few achievements.

Work was solid today, not as much of a slog as yesterday.

Picked up a big steak sandwich and a pot luck shirt from Donkey's Place, so now I have three of those.  

Finished the Star Wars commission, and am now waiting for payment for that story.

Next commission is NFL related, and I get to mock the Detroit Lions a little, heh.

Tracked down the Game Guide for Dragon Age Origins, so almost guaranteed we'll play that on stream again at some point.

Dead or Alive 4 and other notes

Tonight's stream of Dead or Alive 4 saw a big focus on the story modes, as we got through quite a few for various characters, and I certainly was shocked by a couple of things I saw (Jann Lee kicking a T-Rex topping the list). We managed to get a few achievements, as well as unlocking a few characters as we put in some quality time on a pretty much forgotten fighting game. 

Tomorrow night's stream will feature Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League as we focus on leveling up each character equally, so we may night advance the plot much if at all.

For tonight's raid we dropped in on SweetLindi who was playing Remnant II

Work today was pretty good with a community health survey, and folks were more or less happy to take part.

Finished the Spider-Man commission and got started on the Star Wars commission that almost seemed like it was going to be scrapped.

Still have not been paid for one of the Dragon Ball commission from last week. That guy is now black listed as far as I'm concerned.

Picked up several strategy guides for various games that we may be featuring at some point, including Dragon Age II, Final Fantasy XIII-2, and Tomb Raider Legend

Dead or Alive 4 Achievements

We Finished Chrono Cross The Radical Dreamers Edition

 Good morning everyone,

Well we finished Chrono Cross The Radical Dreamers Edition last night... and three achievements based on story points where not unlocked, two of which should have popped last night. Then there was the fact we did the set up for the good ending twice, sitting through the credits completely both time with that achievement not popping. Of course the poor optimization of this remaster certainly had me on the 'just get it done' way of doing things, as we used the battle boost and the fast forward options just to tear through major battles. Considering this is the second remaster from SquareEnix released this year that has had issues, I do hope that they are actually going to be more serious about things from their history being remade or remastered in the future considering how they sold most of their non-Japan based studios early this year. But you know what is great, since we did a play through of the original Chrono Cross last year, I went and looked that clip from August 31, 2021 of the final battle, and man my body language was completely different, as I looked completely done with the Radical Dreamers edition

I was not going to leave this alone, so off-stream, I uninstalled and reinstalled Chrono Cross The Radical Dreamers Edition, changed the appearance settings to classic and and re-ran the final boss battle again to get the good ending, and the achievement popped on the third attempt... then I went and got the bad ending. So that's two achievements knocked off the list.

Of course now I get to ponder about what will replace Chrono Cross in the weekly lineup, there are a few contenders, like the classic version of Mass Effect 3 for example, or maybe we can do something odd like revisit a TellTale Series game like Game of  Thrones.

For the raid last night, we dropped in on RoseMaryShorn who was playing Dragon Age: Inquisition over at twitch.tv/rosemaryshorn!This is of course a reminder to me to reinstall it and play the DLC quests.

Played a handful of matches of Smite last night, and focused on playing as Hera and I think I figured out a few things in Arena using her. Seems like I can use her from the back line a fair bit. Her shield is real useful. Also, Hera's achievements were part of the "A Necessary Darkness" expansion at this time both were still diamond level achievements.

I managed to build up another decently long Xbox achievement streak of 19 days and 116 achievements going back to April 30th. It is my fourth longest streak to date. 

Today's Fitness Boxing 2 daily workout involved Intermediate Combo #1, Triple Combo #2 and Biceps Shape Focus Combo. Woke up a bit late so kept the basic workout streak going.

Have yet another commission fan fic request based around old WWE storylines, this time involving The Miz's dressing down of Daniel Bryan back in 2016. I got two ideas of how I want to approach it that could be interesting.

The new skins for the Anniversary Remix Event Volume 2 in Overwatch clearly had some thought put into what alternate color schemes would work. Probably the best one is Sombra's Neon Cat.

People are complaining about the Phillies being shut out for the fourth time in thirty-six games, to which I say... when all you have is the offense to carry a team, then shut outs are going to happen very frequently.

A Productive Night of Mass Effect 2: Project Overlord, The Convict and The Krogan

Good morning everybody,

Last night's stream of Mass Effect 2 focused on three main objectives, Project Overlord, Recruiting Jack and Recruiting Grunt. Yes there was some searching for planets that had side missions involved plus  a few trips to the citadel to get some items needed for achievements, but we have done every possible before we have to pick up Mordin.

Project Overlord in and of itself was a mostly smooth run, as controlling the Hammerhead is easier with a controller than with a mouse and keyboard when it comes to platform jumping over lava. It really does set the tone for how ruthless Cerberus is when it comes to gaining an edge over alien species. There was a great moment where I got the Overload Specialist achievement for the 360 version in nearly the same spot as I did the for Legendary Edition version of Mass Effect 2.

Recruiting Jack was very straight forward, and a firm reminder that combining biotics is something one has to do for achievement purposes in Mass Effect 2. It's too bad that Jacob and Miranda's early available biotics are not exactly a great combo set. I'm not 100% sure if Jacob and Jack's biotics work or if there is a range where they have to be executed in because I was going for the achievement when Recruiting Grunt and not one apparently counted. Talk about weird.

Mass Effect 2 Achievements

• Data Hound: Collect 6 Cerberus data packets scattered across Aite
• Digital Exorcist: Successfully shut down the rogue VI in Project Overlord
• Overload Specialist: Disrupt the shields of 25 enemies

Today's Fitness Boxing 2 daily workout featured Intermediate Combo #2, Advanced Combo #1 and Weaving Combo #1. During some Free Training, I set a new personal best for Difficult Challenge Combo #1 on No Mercy difficulty with 807 Perfectly performed actions with 5 actions performed only OK. 

My copy of Persona 5 Strikers for the PlayStation 4 arrived late yesterday afternoon, so once we're eventually finished with Persona 5 Royal we can jump into that. Even though Strikers is more of sequel to the original story of Persona 5, it will be cool to have more fun with the franchise

Switch all my skins in Overwatch last night to use Overwatch League skins, even got a play of the game as D.va as well for a bonus one this week.

For tonight's stream we'll be continuing Mass Effect 2, with the first thing we're doing is picking up Mordin on Omega, and that should trigger the next phase of the game with Horizon.

Rise of the Tomb Raider Finished!

Good morning everybody,

You know that feeling when you check in on what's happening at your job on your day off only to see a decision that was made which makes you shake my head? That was me yesterday afternoon!

Anyway last night's stream, we finished Rise of the Tomb Raider... we did start early to give us a good chance to knock it out and we needed that extra time to do it... between me going off the beaten path and falling to my death over and over again. I certainly found myself using some of the special ammo for arrows a lot more as the Deathless Ones certainly proved to be a pain to deal with. Couldn't quite get the achievement for beating one in a duel with only using melee attacks. 

In terms of the a story, there is a very loose reference to the first game implying that Trinity went to the island of the first game after Lara left it, but that connection is so 'blink and you miss it' that it was almost not worth mentioning. I did enjoy the overall story of Rise of the Tomb Raider, but because there is clearly so much to do in in terms of finding collectables and getting certain things done that it's really not in my interest to play the game again.

Of course, this brings me to the question of when will I try to do the Baba Yaga and Croft Manor content? Well, much like with Dragon Age: Inquisition, it might be worth revisiting for a later time to mess around with the DLC in 2022. Think of it as a way to bring a game back without having to replay the entire thing... at least that's my point of view. 

So when will I start Shadow of the Tomb Raider then? Well the plan for that is for next Monday, it'll be interesting if the pattern holds true of me finishing these games in three nights.

Today's Fitness Boxing 2 daily workout featured Body Straight Combo, Triple Combo #1 and Uppercut Combo #1 for a duration of 31 minutes and a estimated calorie burn of422 kcal.

My off-stream Final Fantasy XIV adventures saw the completion of the Omega Raids, and the rather heat-warming, tear jerking evolution of Alpha the Chocobo into a creature into a soul that I hope see again within the game. That said, the Alpha series of the raids were some mind numbing nonsense in terms of realizing where to go to avoid getting hit or knocked off the edge of the battle area. I still want try and the Bahamut raids done that were apart of a Realm Reborn, I sitll need to do the 1st, 3rd, 4th and 5th of it.

Still this just means  I was back to the Main Story Quest, knocking out the content called 'The Legend Returns', which sees Raubahn returning to Ala Mhigo as the city-state begins its long road to being a force to be reckoned with. This story was a nice wrap up, and it does introduce an interesting monkey wrench for the future in terms of Fordola, who now has the power of the Echo which is giving her visions of all the pain and suffering she put on to others. Seeing as how a lot of Final Fantasy XIV seems to deal with redemption to some degree, it wouldn't surprise me.

I also notice there are some side-story quests that unlock dungeons and trials that I missed in Ul'dah, including the Golden Saucer, so I will work on knocking those out before resuming the Main Story Quest.

There are times I do worry about my dad... normally it involves some random nonsense in my email that makes the The Babylon Bee seem like a legit news source. .

For tonight's stream we're going to move Jump Force up to tonight to continue it's story and missions, hopefully we can knock out a few chapters tonight!

Highlights for the Week of 4/11/21

Today's Notes 4/14/21

 Good morning everybody,

Last night's stream of Dragon Age Inquisition saw us finishing the main game, and it only took 97.5 hours to do so, granted about 85 hours were done on stream because of the scope and searching for various items to complete side-quests as well as the War Table meant I had to take care of various things off stream. Granted this meant some Inner Circle stuff was done off stream as well. Still with everything focused on the last few main line quests, I made sure to go down the path that saw us getting the surprisingly rare achievement On Burning Wings, which is done by not letting Morrigan drink from the well of sorrows. Overall I've enjoyed Dragon Age Inquisition a lot more than I did Dragon Age Origins in terms of game play and story pacing to allow me to get all but two achievements.

The only two achievements I did not get for the base game were Harald and Inquisitor which involve beating the game on Hard and Nightmare difficulties. Maybe someday when I'm glutton for punishment I'll attempt those.

Following last night's stream I found some things in a cabinet that I thought were thrown out long ago, so as I was sorting through I ended up watching Back to School, rather... and since I've watched that movie so much when it aired on the like of Comedy Central, it threw me off not to hear some of the poorly done dubbing of some lines. Also made a few attempts on the Uprising Bulletproof archive mission in Overwatch.... and it always falls apart at the end when one tries to be the hero and dive behind an OR-15 when there is a Bastion there as well. Like we come close, but no cigar.

Today's Fitness Boxing 2 session went really well, practically perfect as we had no misses, but at the same time, there were a handful of punches that were poorly timed. Still steady progress is at the least steady. Because I woke up a tad late, I did not include anything extra into today's session.

Tonight we'll be returning to the world of Tom Clancy as I'll be starting up The Division, nearly one year after starting The Division 2, so think of it as a prequel I've never seen. More than likely we'll be joined by the likes of Iceman and PowerThumbz at some points as well!
