Marvel's Midnight Suns and other notes

Tonight we banged out four achievements in Marvel's Midnight Suns and we rescued The Hulk as well as saw a huge a lot of character development.We are actually in the home stretch, we have one more major story mission, but we got to delay doing it to get a couple of achievements before the credits roll

Tomorrow we have either Sea of Thieves or Smite on the agenda

Final Fantasy XIII and other notes

The day started with a morning stream a two hour session dedicated to Fitness Boxing: Fist of the North Start, where I set a few new personal bests. I did however see how silly I look doing anything physical on camera! We might bring back these morning streams every now and then

Tonight's stream of Final Fantasy XIII saw us finally wrap up Chapter 11, and all the heavy level grinding I did off stream certainly help, making sure we were at the maximum possible abilities for my main party, while also putting us in a great position to instantly level up once the 9th tier on the skill tree was unlocked. Thanks to help from one of the viewers, I was able to level up weapons for Fang, Hope and Lightning. so now there is the question of powering up accessories 

Next time we'll play Final Fantasy XIII will be on Saturday's stream, picking up at the first save point of Chapter 12. The march towards victory begins!

Finished the WWE story commission I had on the docket, and next is a Mass Effect one that may take a day or two to write, depending on the dialog. At the moment that story is maybe 10% complete.

Grabbed dinnerfrom Blowin Smoque, consisting of BBQ chicken, kale greens and candied yams.

Also the strategy guide for Lightning Returns; Final Fantasy XIII arrived... and just looking at it I see that game's mechanics are completely off the rails!

Sea of Thieves and other notes

Tonight's stream of Sea of Thieves saw Iceman and I figuring out how to find treasure based on the maps one can get in the game, and we found a lot, with some back and forth traveling. Highlight was figuring out one of the cryptic puzzle ones where you have clues to go by, We also ran into a giant ass shark and managed to sink an enemy ship, so all and all a lot of fun

Tomorrow night we're back to Final Fantasy XIII picking up with things in Chapter 10, and with luck we can get through all of it. We might extend the stream to compensate to make sure we do.

For tonight's raid we went over to datshadowwolf to watch them play Dead by Daylight 

Finished the second of three back to back to back WWE stories and I have one more  to do, which is already in progress so I'll be working on that during the day tomorrow (in between looking for a new job as per usual). 

Thankfully once that's done I have a wide variety of story commission requests on different franchises on the docket.

Still haven't found a replacement for Red Dwarf on shows to watch.

Final Fantasy XIII and other notes

Tonight's stream saw us play Final Fantasy XIII, and clearing the first two chapters of the game, and getting use to the ATB system certainly is a challenge because of how fast paced it makes the combat. That said, I was reminded about the most annoying character in the game, which is of course Hope, who is such a fucking whiner earlier. On the flip side, I totally forgot about how Snow and  Lighting were basically 'in-laws' (again I did play the game back in 2011 before my original PS3 crapped out).

Anyway, we'll return to Final Fantasy XIII on Thursdays stream

Tomorrow night the plan is to play Sea of Thieves with Iceman and Striker, but we'll see how things roll out.

We did have work today, and while not as great a shift as last night, it was good to have work. The final question on the study is questionable in what are they looking to be asked as it doesn't make any sense.

Finished the Fairy Tail story to complete that commission, getting it over 4000 words was pretty cool. Already started the next story in the commission queue which a NCAA related one, and I get to make some references to things in the recent sport news.

Finished series ten of Red Dwarf, and once again Rimmer gets to save the day, which has to be a tradition at some point. Looking forward to seeing if his character progression carries over to series eleven.

South Park The Stick of Truth and other notes

Tonight we started up South Park The Stick of  Truth, and mostly roamed around once we got the tutorial out of the way, getting into battles, finding items and such, picking up 5 achievements on the evening.

 We had work tonight, but the start time was 6 PM Eastern and ran till 9:30 PM, which meant we had to jump from work to the stream.

Also was up since 4 AM because of making sure I received the deliveries that were scheduled for today. I know I have to pay attention for deliveries for today. Thankfully Amazon was able to ship replacements for the things that were stolen a few days ago.

Knocked out a Resident Evil story commission this morning and started up on a Mass Effect commission request, which I'll work on tomorrow.

Also watched a few episodes of Red Dwarf because... why not?

Catherine: Full Body and other notes

Tonight's stream of Catherine: Full Body saw us clearing the first four floors (we made it past the first baby chase on the fourth floor), and I'm enjoying how the expanded story with Rin flushes a lot of things out. On this play through I'm trying not to align to heavily with Katherine, with the worst case scenario being to go with Catherine if I can't figure out how to end up with Rin. We'll be continuing it on next Friday's stream.

Another day with no work, but I got paid for for the last two weeks of December so I was able to load up on groceries and get one of the quarterly bills paid. 

On the story front, finished a Spider-Man commission request, and am now working on an NFL related one, which may take until Sunday to finish based on the outline I was given.

Finally made up my mind in bringing down a case of water to keep in the basement. 

We're partially expecting snow tomorrow, hopefully we get none of it in my area!

Overwatch 2 and other notes

Tonight's stream of Overwatch was rather strange as it seemed to swing from a lot from one side dominating the other, which made things really unusual. Big thanks to PandaSweet for being apart of the fun this evening. Character I used were Junker Queen, Anna, Tracer, Mei, Reaper and a few others.

Also played Overwatch on the Xbox Series console as opposed to the Xbox One, the tradeoff being faster load times at the expense of being able to save Plays of the Game, which is really weird.

Tomorrow night's stream will see us starting up The Quarry, which should be pretty fun. The Quarry is also slated for Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday

Dead by Daylight and other notes

Tonight's stream of Dead by Daylight saw the realizing that the controller I use for the Xbox One was borked with a number of issues with the LT button,, then we had a match in DBD where I couldn't move... but beyond that we had a lot of fun, surviving a few matches, getting hooked, trying out the new killer (Chucky) and getting a few achievements. Did run into a few matches with real try harder killers and players, but it was a chill night.

Tomorrow's stream will feature Asura's Wrath which should be fun.

Dead by Daylight Achievements

• Zealous: In a public match, get more than 8K blood points in one scoring category.

• Flight to Freedom: In a public match, repair the generator in the eyrie and escape. 

Work was solid, got a few interviews done, but I did see how bad a hit I'm taking thanks to the three days off for Thanksgiving that I got stuck with. Gonna have to bang out a lot of stories to make up the difference and cash out the next payment from SubscribeStar.

Speaking of stories, since I recorded the casual review for Stray it did push back the story I was hoping to finish today based on Avatar The Last Airbender.

Also picked up the season pass for Overwatch, there are some neat skins, particularly for Junker Queen.

Stray and other notes

Tonight we wrapped up Stray and I actually remembered quite a bit from the previous play through to where I was able to avoid a lot of the death traps from before. I do kind of wonder what I missed or did wrong to not get certain achievements, but this is a game that has replay value and does have a chapter select so I can jump around to different points.

Our next stream will feature either Dead by Daylight or Ghostbusters Spirits Unleashed, I'm leaning towards the former in terms of trying to get achievements, but of course the later is certainly a lot of fun just for the hell of it.

Amazon has a real problem in using so many boxes for small items that all could be put in one box.

Stray and other notes

Tonight's stream was a bit shorter than usual for a Saturday because of the length of last night's stream. But at the same time, since we were playing Stray, I was able to remember 90% of the first half of the game so we were able to get all the way past AntVillage. 

Of course I was taking my time trying to find various things... and safe to say, since the stream was nearly four hours there was no chance to finish it in two hours. Did have a little trouble finding the last soda can and the yellow flowers, plus had a few deaths in the zurk chase sequences.

Anyway, Stray will return on Monday night's stream, and if we can get through the remainder of the game on that night, we'll probably do something like Dead by Daylight or Ghostbusters Spirits Unleashed on Tuesday.

Our next stream for Sunday will featured Overwatch 2... and will be dedicated to my mom, as she would've been 64.

Dead By Daylight and other notes

Tonight's stream featured Dead by Daylight for the first time since 2019, and thank goodness I did the tutorial off-stream to get a feel for the game, because we certainly got back in the flow of things rather nicely, managing to escape three times out of the survivor matches I played, plus we did one match as a killer.

Now does this mean DBD will be returning as a feature? Not really, I see it like Smite, a game I can throw to in order to fill a night if needed, but at least I know I have a fighting chance for the most part.

I will say this, the Ellen Ripley character model looks awful in comparison to many of the other license characters. I get that they couldn't make her look like Sigourney Weaver , but they made the character look rather chunky!

Tomorrow night, Iceman and I will be back at it with Journey to the Savage Planet to see if we can find stuff needed for achievements!

Knocked off two story commissions today, one was the WWE related one I intended to finish on Monday and the other was Ant-Man related.

Next story on the docket ties in with Spider-Man, after it there are Star Wars, Resident Evil, and at least a pair of WWE related stories (oh... joy...)

Work was okay, solid, if annoying with having to ask for listed individuals because some people have names that are impossible for me to pronounce.

Not sure what Thanksgiving is looking like for next week.

DuckTales Remastered and other notes

Tonight's stream featured DuckTales Remasted, namely the Xbox 360 version of the game, and I was reminded as to why it's been so many years since I last played it, in particularly, the DMCA issue with the game and it's music. I look forward to seeing at how many trips through the editor it's going to be on the YouTube side.

Gameplay wise, it's a fine two button platformer, and I should've played it on easy from the start because I forgot how punishing DuckTales can be on timing jumps to get through enemies and obstacles. In fact we probably wasted close to an hour on the Amazon stage alone before I restarted and switched it from Normal to Easy.

The big difference is that on Easy, each hit you take counts for a half a heart, and you get unlimited continues. On Normal, you're limited to a fixed number of lives.

It was great that the original cast from the DuckTales cartoon was featured one last time, June Foray as Magica Da Spell is always a treat

Our next stream will feature Dead by Daylight, which will be the first time we've played it on Twitch since 2019.

Woke up with a bit of a head cold today so I didn't finish the commission WWE/MMA story I had on the agenda for today, I will be knocking that out before I got to bed since it's about 90% finished

Tomorrow will be a full day as I have to record my review of DuckTales Remastered and also start work on the next commission story based on Ant-Man

Following that story, I have three commission this week based on Spider-Man Star Wars and Resident Evil, with the last two being very similar in nature which will be a pain to make different.

Work was solid, even if the entire Israeli / Palestinian conflict is going to be a tough subject for many people to talk about.

Resident Evil and other notes

Hi everyone,

Tonight's stream of Resident Evil saw us make our way through the mansion as second time, getting turned around on where we had to go, but in the end we ended up in the Courtyard Basement, which meant we ended up knocking of the Yawn and Black Tiger (aka Giant Fucking Spider), and making some liberal use with the grenade launcher. Of course we did end up dying once because of a puzzle involving walls closing in and having to get a stature into an alcove. So there goes the 'no death run'. 

So next time play play Resident Evil, which will be on Monday's stream, we'll be heading to the elevator room to get the shaft to combine with the cylinder we found, and basically work our way to the big decision to Trust Barry or not. Now at this point I think we're maybe going to get two more streams out of Resident Evil, possibly three depending on how long it takes me to understand the guide and what needs to be done!

Out next stream on Friday will see us continuing Horizon Zero Dawn as we get back to the main areas of the game, finding the normal collectables and grinding towards hitting level 60!

Didn't quite finish the Spider-Man story commission I was working on today, because I wasn't feeling well this morning. But I'm going to finish it before I go to bed, so that I can work on the next Resident Evil related story commission (which will involve a version of Mr. X that fits the narrative I've established) 

After that I have two back to back WWE related story commissions, along with another Spider-Man and then one based on Superman.

And if knock all those out, I might get around to planning the next Persona: Dereliction chapter!

The Texas Chain Saw Massacre and other notes

Hi everyone,

Well today started with my electric and water bills both being paid straight away, so that was a hell of way to get things going. But things improved with some stocking up of a few goodies for the kitchen, some easy to peel oranges and a few things to go with stuff I already had. And I order a BBQ rib platter from Blowin' Smoque which was fucking delicious!

Also picked up the 2023 Convention Exclusive Funko Pop of Rita Repulsa from Power Rangers. 

On the down side, I am rather irritated with the idiots constantly littering on the sidewalk next to my house , found a near full set of Heineken bottles and the cardboard container just laying there, like fucking really?

Anyway, tonight's stream started at 5 PM Eastern as I'm experimenting with earlier weekend start times to off-set Monday to Thursday night streams being shorter in length. Tonight we featured The Texas Chain Saw Massacre which is available on Game Pass, and I can safely say I see the influence of Friday the 13th The Game (Since the same people are involved) along with Dead By Daylight, (Helps that Leatherface is in both games and basically handles the same way). The game is pretty much pick up and play, but the tutorial is a little lacking just giving broad over views in a video format.

I really don't have a favorite 'victim' yet, but as far as the Family members go, I really like Sissy because she can actually sustain a chase through most maps and follow through narrow passages. Leatherface and Johnny are pretty cool as well, but i really don't like The Hitchkiker or The Cook.

Will we feature this game again? Probably, we can play a little after doing some Resident Evil 6 some on Wednesdays. 

On a side note, the stream did go down for about 10 minutes due to an outage from Xfinity, and they said there is scheduled maintenance this evening at 1 AM, so hopefully whatever was going on they fix.

Did a fair bit of writing this afternoon as well, finishing of a WWE Short story commission while forgetting one of the details that was requested (which I felt bad about), and started on another Persona 5 related story. Did pick up another short story commission based on Resident Evil which I'll start tomorrow afternoon.

Of course on Monday I have an in-person interview at what was West Jersey Hospital. I'll take a Uber to get there and probably take buses back.

Overwatch and other notes

Hi everyone,

Tonight's stream of Overwatch 2 saw lots of wins and losses, but some very questionable teammates as well. There was one match where I was Wrecking Ball and the team didn't push past the first choke on Blizzard World, despite me getting behind the other team and reaching the objective to cause them to turn around. Then there  matches where folks just stay as Widowmaker until the last 40 seconds instead of swapping off her in order to give more direct help in a team fight to win a match.

On the other hand, I picked up a play of the game as Ana & Junker Queen and even an achievement as Sigma, completing his set from when he was added to the game. Other characters used included D.va, Reinhardt, Tracer, Ashe, Moira, Mercy and a few others.

Recorded the 10th an final video for my series of watching and reacting to Hellsing Ultimate Abridged, and made the decision not to do a series involving Dragon Ball Z Abridged. There just isn't as much meat on the bone with DBZA that I could talk about in regards to my knowledge of references.

Ordered some take out again, because I puttered around in the Kitchen a lot today, and the Doro Dash driver recognized me from High School... which was amazing, considering they were a year behind when I graduated and, they were in a different shop class. So either I aged surprisingly well

Yes it does bother me that my father has turned into a transphobic right wing nut case.

Finished the Metal Gear Rising short story commission and it was a challenged because of how that franchise handles particular details. There is a possibility there will be an AEW story commission done in the near future as well.

Got a job interview tomorrow (Monday) at noon... I hope it goes well... thankfully it' a remote interview.

Our next stream is scheduled for 9:30 PM Eastern time over on twitch.tv/fredcasden and we'll feature the story mode of Mortal Kombat X, which is perfect considering how lack luster every single announcement for Mortal Kombat 1 has been. The start time is under the assumption I have work of course. If not, we'll probably start early.

Friday the 13th and other notes

 Hi everyone,

We had work tonight, not a full shift, but nearly full, and I had three interviews so it was a positive evening before the stream. 

Also had a job interview, but it turned out the job wasn't as advertised based on the job listing, which meant I didn't know how to answer the questions.

Tonight's stream of Friday the 13th was a lot of fun, we were joined by BangBangBang for several matches, and I made progress towards a few generic achievements, but it does appear the counting stat ones are real glitchy, because I know I played as more than a handful of the counselors. We survived a few matches, got killed by Jason several times. There were several instances of matches ending because of the host leaving, server disconnects and other issues.

But this is a game that is shutting down on December 31st of this year, however unlike Gundam Evolution, Friday the 13th The Game has been around for several years and certainly had times when it was massively popular. I probably will do a casual review for my YouTube channel.

I should mention the asshole who came into the chat late who tried to get under my skin, like dude, I know how to deal with trolls, I just let 'em talk for a bit so that they have enough rope to hang themselves with when I report them, block them and ban them.

Resident Evil 6 Progress, Achievements in Fall Guys!

Good morning everyone,

Another late shift of work yesterday, but I got another interview done and thus felt productive once again. 

Also made some pasta the previous night... and it's edible, so I have left overs for today. There is a big difference in knowing how to cook and 'knowing how to cook;.

Last night's stream opened with Resident Evil 6 which saw Iceman and I knock out Chapter 2 of Leon's campaign.. and since I'm playing as Helena, it certainly has lead to some unique moments and mechanics within the game, such as carrying Deborah and being its target during the boss fight. Now since the chapters are so long, Iceman and I are approaching of doing one chapter per week. So with five chapters per campaign and four campaigns in total... we'll be with this a lot in the coming weeks and months on Wednesdays.

Once chapter two of RE6 was done, and after a break, I loaded up Fall Guys with the intent of testing out an exploit to get the achievement for 5 wins in a row. Currently, if you do one of the short 'special' fan made races that are currently an option, you just have to finish it, doesn't matter the placement. Now do it four more times, and you got the achievement. Also managed to get the achievement for doing an emote before finishing in first place. Now that just leaves coming in 1st place 20 times in races... just wish I knew how many I had done already.

The plan for tonight's stream is more Mass Effect, and we'll be opening with three side quests with the hope we can get the achievement for doing the majority of the game with Alenko in the squad. If we get that achievement, we'll do Virmire before Noveria just for a change of pace

Back to Mass Effect... With A Twist

Good morning everyone,

Got some writing done yesterday on one of the two commission requests I have on deck, focusing on events of Mass Effect 3. I do plan to continue working on this story today, mostly because the client who commissioned it often is very quick on making the payment... as opposed to the one who commissioned the WWE story often making me wait upwards of a week.

Of course last night's stream saw us start up the original Mass Effect, but this time there is a challenge, with it being a forced Paragon run, and an engineer run in order to get achievements associated with both those settings, combine that with also only using Alenko and Williams as the squad mates. Needless to say it's going to be difficult considering I prefer and are very familiar with the build I go with when using soldier, and a lot of the best choices for Shepard to say are when going Renegade.

That said, we covered everything possible to do on Citadel during the first visit, which meant a lot of the side quests were tackled, and we made sure to go get Liara first... even though for this run it would make sense because we're not going to even consider using her on the ground squad. Mostly because it would've made things funny to rescue her last to get her delusional reaction for being trapped for so long.

Still, Mass Effect will be placed into the Thursday night slot, for two reasons, one when work picks back up (or if I get a new job), it'll keep me from doing more playing 4.5 hours, because I love to take my time with Mass Effect and do every dialog option. The other reason is, if I don't have work slated for Friday, I can do a longer stream. So it works both ways.

Of course for tonight's stream we're playing Overwatch 2, with the goal being to level up the battle pass as much as possible, see if we can pick up a title.

There was another mass shooting... and to which I say, when are the elected officials who are Republicans and Conservatives are going to wake up? The answer will be when they start being the ones being the victims of these horrible incidents.

Messed around a bit with The Adventures of Elena Temple, a game that does claim to be the earliest video game with a female protagonist... but in reality it's a pretty modern game released with the gimmick being that it looks like a game made in the early 1980s. It certainly has a charm to it, but not really something I would consider playing on a stream unless I need to fill in some time.

First Impressions Of Personal 3 Portable

 Good morning everyone,

The majority of CD collection is now in various binders, I have a few loose ones that I need to break down, but I have a bunch of sampler albums that were used as glorified promotional items, so I might just throw those out to make sure all my actual albums are stored correctly.

Last night we started up Persona 3 Portable, getting to the 16th floor of Tartarus putting us where we need to be for a major story point from what I understand. I really don't mind the visual novel aspect of P3P as it actually does save time in trying to get everywhere, as a lot of time during my Persona 5 Royal play through was spent walking from place to place within that game.

The music of P3P is of course what I expected based on my play time playing Persona 3 Dancing in Moonlight. I know a lot of people complained about the sound mixing, but I didn't notice any issues regarding sound effects or dialog, then again, I turned the voice dialog up to max to make sure I hear all everything that is being said.

Roaming around Tartarus does have one draw back and that is trying to ambush panicked enemies, as they tend to be result in chasing  them down. The Shuffle Time gimmick is probably will involve more paying attention than it deserves, particular when it comes to trying to get new Personas. 

Despite the nitpicking, we shall continue P3P tonight!

Started work on the latest Mass Effect commission request, and picked up another WWE related one, so there are two stories in the commission queue, meaning the Persona 5 story I was intending to write will be delayed.

The fact that the United States Supreme Court is saying they should not beheld to a high ethical standard shows just how corrupt its members are.

Speaking of corrupt, the GOP once again blocked gun reform as we continue to have incidents all over the United States such as a massive amount of gunfire was unleashed near a Little League game. So fare here in 2023 we've had had 184 mass shootings.... keep in mind there's only been 121 days.

Needless to say, I'm tired of these things happening.... so if you're a 2nd Amendment support, an NRA card carrying member... you can go FUCK YOURSELVES!

We Knock Out A Huge Chunk Of Hi-Fi Rush

 Good morning everyone,

Last night's stream of Hi-Fi Rush saw us getting through chapters 4 through 9 of the game, and sure it went over five hours because I did kept searching for secrets and stuff through out every stage. I really enjoyed the art style and music, the game is easily a sleeper hit for me. And there is incentive to revisit the game to find things that I miss and take advantage of a probably New Game Plus to reach areas I couldn't in earlier parts of the game. Assuming that is a thing.

The twist that Peppermint is Kale's sister was a twist I didn't realize, and it was oh so obvious to me before I started putting a few things together in the Museum stage. 

That said, we're in real good shape to finish Hi-Fi Rush tonight, so we'll probably pair it with something else. I'm tempted on doing it with Hades... but other possibilities include Smite, Divine Knockout or some other nonsense to serve as a back up game.

The developers of MultiVersus announced the game is going on hiatus, and a lot of folks are pissed because it wasn't really stated that this entire time was an Open Beta. I suspect the death of Kevin Conroy (the voice of Batman) may have been a factor because, since no new characters were added to the game since he passed away, and there was a real long content drought. Hell most know I stopped playing it because it started feeling monotonous and I banged out quite a few tough achievements.

My idea of using a Splitter to divert the HDMI signal from the output of my capture card to a monitor and TV didn't work the way I hoped it would... but I did found a three-way HDMI splitter so now I don't have to disconnect the Nintendo Switch, Xbox One or Xbox Series consoles. Will need to do so for the PlayStation related consoles because they are positioned further away from the others.

I do have a new commission short story request based around Mass Effect, namely Mass Effect 3. I think I'll try to keep it straight forward, unless I can find specific dialog transcripts. 

Did pick up am Amazon Fire Stick, because it didn't occur to me until after I moved the TV from the living room to my basement that if I have family come over, and if they bring their kids there is nothing to entertain them. 

Also figured out how to make YouTube shorts... so that could be a thing I do going forward.
