Murdered: Soul Suspect and the Salem Witch Trials

Good morning everyone,

Last night we wrapped up Murdered: Soul Suspect... and when it leaned in heavily in the direction of the Salem Witch Trials it certainly didn't pull anything back. Such as the use of Abigail Williams who was indeed indeed a real person who ran around accusing people of witch craft. That tie in was a bit much, but it does make the story work to various degrees and made for a satisfying conclusion.I did rather enjoy the twist that Ronan was one of the 'tools' used by Abigail with the revelation that she kills off those that she possess in the end, which explains why Ronan was killed at the very start.

We did use a guide to find all the collectables, and there were two that I missed fairly early into the game last week, including one in the flipping Apartment building at the very start. Still by the end of the game we did end up getting every achievement. So yay... a rare game that I 100% completed!

Now would I want to play through it again... eh, maybe if I want to have a 'horror' game for the fall down the road. Personally, I rather not deal with how much time I spent trying to figure out the best approach to taking out the demons... but by the end of the game, I did realize holding down Right Trigger on the Xbox controller meant Ronan could sprint which made some things a lot easier to deal with.

Finished the recent commission request for a story based around Trish Stratus being on RAW a few weeks ago, and got another commission request for a story to feature Tyson Kidd which I knocked out earlier this morning because I couldn't quite get to sleep. Good thing to, because I ended up getting another request for a follow up to the Spider-Man story I did recently.

Had one period where the internet went down yesterday and I reported it through Xfinity's customer service line, making it clear this has been a reoccurring problem. Luckily last night's stream didn't see any issues.

I am hoping Elgato release a patch update that will resolve the issues that were created with OBS version 28 and the Stream Deck, if I don't remember to reapply the quick fix it means the scene switches I've programmed will not work. 

Today's Fitness Boxing 2 daily workout featured Intermediate Combo #2, Straight Combo #2 and Hip Shape Focus Combo for 28 minutes.

Since bot matches count towards progression, managed to bang out a couple of achievements in MultiVersus to progress towards getting as many as possible. I think the ones I'll have the toughest times with is playing in a formed party. Still the real quest is the battle pass. So logging in and trying to knock out the daily quests will help in that regard.

Various Notes And Things

Good afternoon everyone,

Last night's stream of Overwatch was pretty solid, we didn't quite get have many wins, and I certainly felt let down in some instances based on some of the things I saw... hell it got so bad in some cases I completely checked out of a few matches. I finished those matches but I certainly wasn't putting in a max effort. Did pick up one play of the game as Reinhardt. Other characters used were D.va, Symmetra, Moira, Brigitte and Orissa.

Did have to try and answer question for someone regarding purchasing Overwatch, as it's no longer separately on Blizzard Battle Net. Up until the conversion for Overwatch 2, if you pre-order its  Watchpoint pack, you'll be able to start playing Overwatch and be able to start playing Overwatch 2 the day the conversion happens.

Felt a bad headache coming on during last night's stream, and that normally is a slight warning that I have a small bout with a cold coming my way in the next few days. Joy.

Started working on the 3rd commission story request I've received in 3 days, and I'm totally not going to go for trying to keep folks in character with how they are portrayed currently on WWE programming. I did get like 66% of it written before I fell asleep last night.

Both of my Fantasy Baseball Teams have made the playoffs in their respectively leagues, each as the number six seed.

Thoughts on the first half(ish) of Murdered: Soul Suspect

Good morning everyone,

Last night's stream featured the 2014 game Murdered: Soul Suspect... and I'll be upfront, yes I was using a guide because it was made real clear early on that some of the puzzles and collectables were going to be real pain to deal with. That said, I did enjoy the visual look, sound design and over overall presentation of the game. It's kind of like a low-key Resident Evil, sure there some 'enemies' you have to deal with, but for the most part it's all about just finding clues to piece the overall story together. 

I found Ronin to be a decent protagonist as a cop who was killed by a serial killer and now has to solve his own murder while being from beyond the grave. A lot of the NPCs are interesting, some having side stories to be resolved, or just commenting on the situation when possessed. In fact there is a nice little line about "What is that game about the girl who raids tombs', which of course refers to Tomb Raider... which is no longer owned by Square Enix.

If there is one big draw back is that I've never been a fan of stealth mechanics, and dealing with the 'Demons' to get them into position to take them out from behind seems clunky at best. Granted I've only seen like 6 or 7 so far, but it's the one part of the game I don't care for.

Near as I can tell I covered about half the game last night. Currently, it's slated to be featured on Monday stream, where we may have an outside shot of finishing it... depending on how long it takes me to find the remaining collectables along the way. We might play it safe and start early that day. We'll see.

Side note, in the last 20 minutes of the stream, we did start to drop frames, but when I pulled up the gateway I didn't see anything out of the ordinary. Still I didn't have noticeable internet issues beyond that over the last 2 days, so hopefully things have been fixed.

My off-stream grind quest as it relates to Capcom Arcade 2nd Stadium resulted in another achievement being unlocked. In terms of hours 'played'... however figuring out what would be the best game to rack up CAPSO is proving more difficult that it did in the first collection.

So We Just Went Ahead To LEGO Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures

Good morning everyone

Last night's stream got off to a rough start because the newest version of OBS is not working with my Stream Deck, so I did stream restart to try and fix the problem... but nothing worked. So until Elgato releases a new patch update I've lost some of the functions I've used via Stream Deck to switch scenes in OBS.

That said, we did wrap up  LEGO Indiana Jones: The Original Adventures with the goal of just doing Temple of Doom and then going back to find all the artifacts... however, I feel like there was something screwy with some of the placement of the artifacts were not registering even with the 'Artifact Finder' on. I might focus on one stage a night off-stream to find all the artifacts, but nothing guaranteed on that front.

Of course there is the rough part of playing the early LEGO video games because of all the music issues, which meant all I had going were the sound effects and character sounds, so some of the involvement of the game was kind of nullified. But on the positive side, the very ear-wormy music from Temple of Doom will not be running through my brain because of how quickly the melody cycle.

For tonight's stream, We're going to start up Murdered: Soul Suspect, it was released back in 2014 on PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC... we'll be playing the Xbox One Version. From what I see it has gotten average to mediocre reviews. Besides this gets us out of the trend of only playing 360 era games.
