Final Fantasy XIII and other notes

Tonight's stream of Final Fantasy XIII went pretty well, we reached Taejin's Tower and knocked out several of the mandatory hunts before finding an excellent spot to grind for CP. I could have easily pushed to finish Chapter 11 this evening, however, there were some outside circumstances that prevented it, not to mention if I can get close to 999,999 CP points, we could damn near fill out Hope, Ligntning and Fang's standard skill trees for level 9. I will try and do some heavy grinding on that, otherwise Thursday's stream will feature me going up and down a set of stairs.

Of course the outside factor was that Xfinity was scheduled to be doing maintenance around 1 AM, so that's why I ended the stream fairly early.

Wednesday's night stream is slated to feature Sea of Thieves with Iceman, if he's available, otherwise, it will be Smite

Didn't get as much writing done on the Resident Evil commission I was expecting. I take that back, I got a lot done, but didn't finish it. I'll be working on that before I go to bed so that when I wake up I can work on the next story that's on my docket.

On a side note, the clips from the final night of Catherine Full Body continue to get flagged by Sega, but we should be outside of the 30 day window for the clips that appear during the BRB screen.

Tonight we wrapped up Catherine: Full Body and ended up getting the Good Ending with Catherine, which worked out rather nicely considering Katherine deception was what caused Vincent's problems in the first damn place. Too bad I didn't know how to unlock Rin's path, but we can come back to Catherine: Full Body down the line for another attempt. 

Next Friday we're going to start Ghost of Tsushima as out next PlayStation 4 exclusive game.

Both of those ended up effecting how much time I could dedicated to writing, but I'm nearly finished a Dragon Ball related commission tomorrow.

I'm up to Series VII of Red Dwarf, reaching the point where Rimmer becomes Ace.

South Park The Fractured But Whole and other notes

Tonight we started up South Park The Fractured But Whole, and really got into roaming around and and exploring, seeing what we could do early on, which was a fair bit. I really like the combat system as I realize I have to be a little more thoughtful of where I place my team so that no one is blocked. We'll resume it on Saturday's stream!

Since I was dealing with that I only got a fair amount done in terms of the next commission request, which is Dragon Ball related, I'll be working on that during the day on Friday.

Also we're expecting more snow... and the stuff we already had just melted... fuck my life.

Catherine: Full Body and other notes

Tonight's stream of Catherine Full Body ran five hours because I got hung up on a couple of puzzles and thought thought I was on the path for one of Rin's endings, but turns out I did something wrong along the way. Still we cleared the seventh night so next time we play the game we should be able to finish it with possibly getting a good or bad ending for Catherine.

Tomorrow night we're back to South Park The Stick Of Truth, with one thing on the agenda being going back to the sewers to find the last homeless battle

Need to remember to get milk... though I can probably just go ahead and have bagels and eggs this week.

Tonight's stream had a bit of an hour late start due to the power being knocked out. Once we were able to get started we knocked out various side quests and things in South Park The Stick of Truth such as finding the last of the hide and seekers, placing the trackers for Al Gore, crashing the UFO and general tomfoolery. Grinding out various weekly challenges in Overwatch 2 early today, and finally got the Xbox achievement need to complete Moira's set.

Currently working on a commission request based on the anime Fairy Tail, the closer I can get it to 6000 words the better, currently its at 3100 words, so another day of writing should get it there, even if I add in various bits to pad it out.

Catherine: Full Body and other notes

Tonight's stream of Catherine: Full Body saw us clearing the first four floors (we made it past the first baby chase on the fourth floor), and I'm enjoying how the expanded story with Rin flushes a lot of things out. On this play through I'm trying not to align to heavily with Katherine, with the worst case scenario being to go with Catherine if I can't figure out how to end up with Rin. We'll be continuing it on next Friday's stream.

Another day with no work, but I got paid for for the last two weeks of December so I was able to load up on groceries and get one of the quarterly bills paid. 

On the story front, finished a Spider-Man commission request, and am now working on an NFL related one, which may take until Sunday to finish based on the outline I was given.

Finally made up my mind in bringing down a case of water to keep in the basement. 

We're partially expecting snow tomorrow, hopefully we get none of it in my area!

Persona 5 Tactica

We wrapped up the New Game Plus run of Persona 5 Tactica this evening, with the stream running five hours, and if I didn't waste time on one of the side quest it would've taken only four. Still we got the final achievement and we technically can put  P5T to rest... put there is the Repaint Your Heart DLC story, that might be worth doing later in the year. There are no achievements associated with it, so I'm not completely incline to play it, especially since it features Akechi.

Tomorrow night we're starting up Catherine Full Body on the PS4.

Persona 5 Tactica Achievements

• Collection of Knowledge: Filled all entries in Persona Compendium. 

Another day without work, but I'm told we should have something next week, so fingers crossed... this means I have to really focus any stories where its a cent per word to get $40+ per story. 

But the commission story in progress is a basic one based on Spider-Man, it's nearly about 20% done already, would've had more done but I rested a good part of the day to shake off a cold that was coming on.

Alan Wake and other notes

Tonight we wrapped up Alan Wake, finishing on the lowest possible difficulty setting, and I was right about the sixth chapter taking about 90-ish minutes to finish, which was spot on given the number of times I died, either by getting cornered or falling off of high places. I'm not really inclined to the DLC content as I did mess around around with those before on the Steam version and didn't care for them.

We also tossed in some Persona 5 Dancing in Starlight, managing to beat my previous scores on a few songs on hard difficulty (and with the note speed turned up).

Tomorrow night we're going to dive into Antstream Arcade and check out what old school games are there. So it's going to be a retro night of gaming with no real plan, as we'll save starting up the New Game Plus run of  Persona 5 Tactica for Monday

Overwatch and other notes

Merry Christmas Eve everyone,

Tonight's stream of Overwatch certainly saw me losing my mind with some things other players were doing, but overall we had fun. We did have fun, playing as Junker Queen, Brigitte, Reaper, Orissa, Reinhart, Moira, Mei and several others. Big thanks to PandaSweet for being apart of the fun.

Also we ran into a big where if people left matches,there was no one to backfill, it happened about five times and was quite annoying

And yes I did forget to take a screenshot tonight, that is why we have one for Mass Effect lol.

Set up the new TV my brother gave me in the living room, it's placed in a spot where it can be viewed from most areas, granted at an elevated position.

Going to be working on the Mass Effect story commission for the rest of the night, had to change some things around based on that the client wanted to give the story some decent pacing.

So Shinjiro Is Basically Apart of SEES for A Cup Of Coffee?

Good morning everyone,

Yesterday was interesting as I had an issue with Amazon, as I caught the delivery person throwing my package over the fence while claiming they put it on my porch by my front door. They said they couldn't open the gate, which was a lie, because I easily opened it. So I called up Amazon directly, used the fact that Amazon delivery personnel take photos to document where they placed packages and thus was able to prove where this package was thrown in relation to where another delivery was placed just four days prior. Got a $10 credit for my trouble, but yeah I was annoyed.

Last night's stream of Persona 3 Portable saw us reach October 4th, and in the context of the came it was the rather abrupt departure of Shinjiro after it was revealed he accidentally killed Ken's mother two years prior to the events of the game. Always thought Ken was weird based on what I saw of him in Persona 3 Dancing in Moonlight and Persona 4 Arena Ultimax, but now having the full context, it makes sense. This entire story beat does lead to Shinjiro being killed and Akihiko finding his conviction to evolve his own Persona into Caesar.

Still, since I was playing P3P, a lot of the attachment I probably should feel when it comes to Shinjiro just isn't there, not to mention I haven't seen any of the cut scenes from the original P3 or event P3:FES, so to me, Shinjiro being killed off comes across as a 'oh that happened'. 

I have managed to get Makoto up to level 50 and with a number of social links done, I can fuse various combinations of Persona to where I can have a fairly over powered line up. And since this play through is blatantly a guided play through, I was able to go in the Fortune & Strength boss fight with a good plan. Granted the gimmick of the wheel of fortune gave be flashbacks to the Shadow Sae fight from Persona 5 Royal.

Also learned from a viewer that Vincent from 'Catherine' makes a bit of a cameo in Persona 3 Portable as he's hanging out in Club Escapade. Since both games are made by Atlas, it's a cool little easter egg, granted Catherine came out years after the original release of Persona 3. 

The plan  for tonight's stream is to continue Persona 3 Portable and see more of the fallout regarding  Ken as well as make out way towards the next big trip into Tartarus, as well as catching up on Social Links I fell behind on. I know I have all the ones that can only be done at night done, the rest are all school related. 

Of course I don't know if we're starting at 6:30 PM Eastern or 9:30 PM Eastern due to work. As soon as I know I'll let you all know!

It's A Monday, Visited Mom

Good afternoon everyone,

Last night's stream of Overwatch 2 was a lot of fun, as I was focused on completing many of the daily and weekly challenges. Big thanks to both LvStrkr and PandaSweet for being apart of matches! Characters I used included Mei, Junkrat, Reinhardt, Bastion, Moira, Ana, D.va, Orisa and a couple of others, with a three plays of the game earned as Mei, Bastion and D.va!

Now during the stream, I did get a call from my mom, but I was not in a position to talk, since I was in the middle of a match at that point. She told me they have her doing some breathing exercises to help her strengthen her lungs, which makes sense considering she's mostly been on her back for the past month. 

I did went to see here this morning, when I got there she was just waking up and she was incredibly groggy. Her bed was locked to keep her head elevated at 30 degrees to keep her airways cleared, so when she asked for it to be raised, it had to be unlocked. When I left,  a respiratory therapist came by to for her to do some breathing exercises.

On a silly note, some of the screenshots from the previous night's stream of Catherine got flagged on Tumblr... which gave me a little chuckle.Speaking of Catherine, the archive version of last night's stream won't be viewable in Japan because the entire big cut scene where the revelation about the Bartender being behind Vincent's dreams is restricted in that country. Weird.

I did make some changes to my settings for Fitness Boxing 2, so some days there may be 4 exercises or less, this why was in case I'm running late I can adjust things more easily. That said, today's routine included Hip Shape Focus Combo, Sway Back Combo and Difficulty Challenge Combo #2 for 24 minutes. I woke up later than I wanted.

Adachi's P4AU story fills in the gaps

Good afternoon everyone,

Last night's stream saw us featuring Persona 4 Arena Ultimax one final time in order to see Adachi's story play out, and it certainly filled in the gaps as to why he was out of police custody and why he was 'helping' in his own way during the P4 version of events. It does however raises a question as to how much of the P3 side of the story is actually canon because both side contradict one another yet complement each other at the same time, particularity once the True Ending is considered.

Anyway, we did do one Score Attack run as Elizabeth to get its related trophy and also a few attempts a flows 41-50 in the Golden Arena to see if we could get further in that, but a lot of grinding is involved as far as that goes, since that mode is more of an RPG.

We also revisited Persona 5 Dancing in Starlight, picking up a couple of King Crazy's and setting a few new high scores on some songs. I was a tad bit rusty at it since it's been about a month since I last played it any of the Persona dancing games.

One thing I did reveal during the stream is that next Friday... the PS4 game will be Final Fantasy VII Remake

My brother and one of my aunts visited mom at the hospital yesterday, and I talked to her a bit, she sounded better for sure, so maybe what the doctors did for her throat helped some. There are lot of concerns for sure still. Also went and saw mom this morning, but she was sedated because they took her to get an MRI earlier, so she was partially asleep

Managed to finish the Gotham Knights commission request rather easily, despite not playing the game and not having any context as it relates to how the four characters interact in it, but I'm not complaining as it was nearly 4000 words long. Got another short story request for a WWE, I'll get to work on that in the afternoon. And all these little commission requests I've been doing with work being slow has certainly helped out in covered my electric bill for this month.

Catherine is a Crazy Game

Good afternoon everyone,

Last night's stream featured only Catherine, namely the Xbox 360 version of it. It's a story driven puzzle platformer, and even on easy difficulty it's a nutty game. The plot is that Vincent ends up cheating on his long time girlfriend named Katherine with a woman named Catherine right when he's starting to have nightmares based on his fears (commitment, being a father, etc). Being a game published by Atlus, there is a ton of surreal imagery including some 'what the fuck' moments.

In terms of progress, we cleared the first five stages (Underground Cemetery, Prison of Despair, Torture Chamber, Inquisition and Quadrangle), and more often than not, it was my own mistakes that lead to me falling to my demise... except  when it comes to the fifth boss, that Hell Bride certainly threw in some pain in ass mechanics that caught me way off guard. In fact that was where I had the most trouble... so I can imagine how the remaining stages are going to go.

At this point, I think I'll slot Catherine in for Next Saturday's stream instead of trying to finish it on Monday, because I have a feeling it'll take me a while to finish it! 

On a side note, I did notice the Teddy plush in the Stray Sheep bar for obvious Easter Egg for Persona 4. Which makes sense because from what I understand, the team that worked on Catherine also worked on the Persona games (or at least Persona 5).

While going through some boxes to see what is going to go to the trash, I found a bunch of games of the Sega Genesis, which were NBA Jame, Sonic & Knuckles, Mortal Kombat 3, Pitfall: The Mayan Adventure, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie, X-Men, Ghostbusters, Madden '94 and NCAA Football. We have the carts and the cases... just not any of the manuals! Still what a find! I know we had more, so I wonder if the others will turn up?

The True Ending Of P4AU Was Perfect

Good afternoon everyone,

Last night's stream of Persona 4 Arena Ultimax, picked up in the middle of the P3 version of the main story, with a big focus on Labrys. We got a lot more backstory as it pertain to the character of the main villain Sho as to why he is the way he is, saw the return of Shadow Labrys and even learned more about Labrys herself. The personalized endings for the P3 cast were great, particularly the ones for Aigis and Labrys which hit a little close to home.

To my surprise, I was able to get access to the True Ending, which actually leads to Sho getting his head straighten out a bit, and the tease that Elizabeth could potentially be a future main protagonists considering her goals. But the real treat was the big part featuring the Shadow Operatives and the Investigation Team. Considering I haven't played Persona 3 or Persona 4, it certainly made me even more interested to see how these characters were during those games.

Now I'm already considering P4AU a finished game for this year's tour because we got the True Ending... however, there are still a few more things I want to do on stream, so next Friday we'll feature the Adachi chapter to see the story from his point of view, since he does has some direct involvements.

Final Fantasy DC Travel & Coils Of Bahamut

Good morning everyone,

Last night's stream of Final Fantasy XIV saw a couple of issues but I believe they were mostly on Twitch's end near as I can tell.

Beyond that it was a lot of fun as we were joined by both PandaSweet and Kalenal for some party team up fun, as Panda used the Data Center travel to visit. So you can expect that to be an almost regularly thing to see Panda not only on Sundays with Overwatch but also on FFXIV nights.

In terms of what was accomplished, well I mostly stuck to playing Bard with one brief moment of playing Blue Mage. We did a number of raids, trials and dungeons... and finally got the Coils of Bahamut story arc done, which not only gives Alisae all the character development she would have as it relates to the A Realm Reborn arc of the story, since she was mostly absent. The cut scenes were rather long, but we were running them de-synced to get through them quick.

Also started the new Hildebrand content, which actually sees us finding the Gentleman Inspector in the world of the first, so I'm really glad that isn't being skipped,. Love that there is some great choices on how things could play out.

For the raid we dropped in on Oldish22 who was also playing Final Fantasy XIV over on twitch.tv/oldish22!  

Got another commission story request this time based around Marvel's Spider-Man, in particular the character of Miles Morales. Going have to do some research to see how I want to portray him.

Work was rather interesting, and I can safely say that anyone in the stage of Michigan who is supporting John Gibbs to become a congressman is fucking idiot and a danger to the United States of America.

Today's Fitness Boxing 2 daily workout featured Advanced Combo #1, Sway Back Combo and Beginner Combo #2 for 34 minutes.

Took advantage of an Xbox games sale to add Catherine, Asura's Wrath and the Contra Anniversary Collection. Catherine is published by Atlus, the same folks behind the Persona games, so that could be interesting. Asura's Wrath was published by Capcom and was notorious for having some key story elements as DLC, and I made sure to pick those up as well. The Contra Anniversary collection is of course a celebration of the Contra series that was big in Arcades and the NES back in the 80s.

For tonight's stream we're back to Persona 5 Strikers, as we'll be starting the 3rd story arc investigation. We might take out time to try and do some level grinding and knock out combat achievements for the remaining Phantom Thieves.
