Persona 3: Dancing In Moonlight is 'harder' than Persona 5: Dancing in Starlight

Good afternoon everyone,

Last night's stream of Persona 3: Dancing in Moonlight was interesting, because outside of the few characters that appeared in Person 4 Arena, I know nothing about how they should be interacting with one another, or the context of how they all met beyond some superficial details. Of course thankfully, Elizabeth is the 'host', which makes unlocking the social events just to see and hear what she says worth it.

But that said, the difficulty of P3:DIM is rather noticeable when compared to Persona 5: Dancing in Starlight and it really comes down to one thing: the music. Persona 3's musical comes from that early 2000s period of really high tempo songs, hell the Beats Per Minute on P3:DIM's songs are a lot more intense than anything seen in P5:DIS. Then there are the note pattern differences, and because of the style of music, P3:DIM has a lot more notes being put in rapid succession on normal difficulty. It really gets screwy on Hard and All-Night Difficulty

Now that said, I do feel overall the music of P3:DIM is alright for what it is, but outside of Burn my Dread and A Way Of Life, nothing really stands out to me as something I would want to hear as part of a playlist. It's probably more of a reflection of the era in which the original version of Persona 3 was released in more than anything else.

Still, we'll work out way through Persona 3: Dancing in Moonlight over the next couple of weeks on Fridays because we should be able to get all the trophies for it. Hell we knocked out 25% of them tonight just by being able to remember how their counterparts where unlocked in Persona 4: Dancing in Starlight.

Also, tonight I unlocked my 1,000ths PlayStation Trophy, which actually points how the long gap between when my original PS3 died and when I finally nabbed as PS4.

Work was okay yesterday, nothing special, just a day that existed.

Finished writing the latest commission request for a WWE short story that 'explains' the return of Candice LaRae back in September. It turned out fairly okay. The biggest problem with writing story set around wrestling is that I co-wrote so many for so long, it's kind of tough to find a plot setup that I haven't done. Did get a follow up commission request to do one that 'explains' Emma's sudden return.

Game six of the World Series is tonight, and the Phillies are down three games to two... can they even the series against the Astros at three games a piece to force a game seven? I don't think so... we'll keep track of the game, but unless the offense is going to suddenly right themselves and Wheeler pitches the game of his career, there will be no joy in the Delaware Valley. 

I used to hate facial hair but then it grew on me.

So who survived my second playthrough of Until Dawn?

Good afternoon everyone,

Last night we finished our second play-through of Until Dawn and we had nearly everyone survive except for two characters. First Emily was sent to the great beyond because of The Exorcism of Emily achievement, and the other was Josh because I didn't find one collectable in chapter 10 to trigger him surviving. Still everyone else survived, which was actually better than my first play through last where where we lost Ashley, Mike, Jessica and Matt.

Of course I know some friends of mind were very disappointed in that result, but I did make it as hard as possible for myself when it came to taking some of the harder choices in terms of quick time events. Still this is a game that has a lot of replay value to try and get different results.

I do want to touch on the collectables for a moment, in that I was being incredibly thorough for this play through of Until Dawn, and outside of the final one associated with the Twins, I have no clue of exactly where some are when it relates the Mystery Man, 1952 and the Totems. I'll probably need a guide to find them.

Work was kind of interesting yesterday in seeing just how stupid something people are in relation to those who are reasonable. Having been in Market Research for as long as I have, I do miss the days prior to 2016 when everyone on both sides were semi-intelligent. 

It wasn't pretty put the Phillies won game one of the World Series beating the Astros 6-5 in 10 innings. Aaron Nola got rocked, but Justin Verlander wasn't much better as they each gave up 5 runs, resulting in it being a battle of the bullpens. I have a sinking feeling that Nola is at the end of his rope for the year. Still I was hoping for the Phillies to get at least one win in Houston to start the series.

Now it's on to game two tonight with Zack Wheeler on the hill... if the Phillies can win tonight, and that is a huge if, it will mean Citizens Bank Park will be rocking on Monday night.

The legendary Jerry Lee Lewis passed away, and sure he made some questionable choices that hampered his career, but you cannot deny his impact on Rock N Roll.

More Dancing in the Starlight of Persona 5

 Good afternoon everyone,

Last night's stream of Persona 5 Dancing in Starlight was a blast, not only did we knock out every achievement related to difficulties and gimmicks, we put ourselves in great position to actually get the Platinum Trophy. There is however one big road block and that is the requirements for Yusuke and Ryuji's which require a cumulative score and 'perfect' scores, then there is Makoto's which requires completing stages with different accessories. These are required to the Social Links related achievement done

That said, I can' finish the game at any time by watching the Social Link for Caroline and Justine's 'Rank 8' which I have unlocked. But I really want to get the everyone up to Rank 8 because when I played Person 5 Royal and Persona 5 Strikers, the bonds between the Phantom Thieves makes the game memorable.

So that said, next Friday's stream will really see the grind being put on to make progress towards completion. Because we're not 'finishing' the game until every member of the Phantom Thieves is at rank 8.

Finished the recent Arrow fic requests to complete another commission, and got promptly requested to do a third consecutive fic because of the world building I've managed to do. 

I did not wake up until 3:30 PM this afternoon... bleh

Also had the Phillies game on while I was working, had my TV on mute, but when I finished work, I saw the entire rally in the 9th inning with the volume turned up. So that was a hell of a kick off the weekend.

Persona 5 Dancing In Starlight Is Incredible!

Good afternoon everyone,

Last night's stream featured the return of Persona 5... in the form of Persona 5: Dancing in Starlight. It is a rhythm game where you press buttons on the controller to match where the notes are going on screen... and it is addicting. We went well past midnight, and we haven't done that since we were playing Persona 5 Strikers! 

One of the big pluses about P5:DIS is that it fits in nearly perfectly within the events of Persona 5 Royal and Persona 5 Strikers, actually fitting in between the events of both game. Sure it's based more on the vanilla version of Persona 5... and there is the issue of Caroline and Justine being the hosts in the Velvet Room but for me the game has its place in the timeline. There is a lot of the same charm and banter of other games in regards to how the characters talk to one another which basically encourages going for the Social Links to see how over the top some things can get.

The dancing portion is really enjoyable, and there are enough difficulty settings and modifiers to keep things fresh (or make things easier), Plus the Persona 5 sound track is awesome enough to want to keep playing the game and lose track of time... which was certainly the case when I was playing Royal and Strikers through out the year!

Now I did go back into the game to bang out some achievements that I know would be tough to get based on trying to figure out certain dance partners. Thankfully there was a guide for that.  Now I did get access to knew Social Link scenes but I didn't view them yet because we're certainly featuring Persona 5: Dancing in Starlight next Friday for damn sure!.

On a side note: Virtually impossible to get quality screenshots because as a rhythm game, taking a hand off the game pad would mean a lot of misses.

The Last of Us Remastered... For Me It Isn't Fun

Good afternoon everyone,

So last night we played The Last of Us Remastered... and I'll be honest, I'm not too keen on the game play... in fact the game play itself just sucks, the combat is mediocre at best, the puzzles I've seen are generic... and everything just seems to be just 'breaks between cut scenes'.  In fact, the more I think about it, the the actual 'game' part of The Last of Us serves more as a 'break' between the gorgeous cut scenes and dialog. The controls are cumbersome, with even the most mundane things needing button presses which makes stuff like getting into and out of cover a chore.

I'll straight up say, if I wasn't playing this on its easiest setting I would have switched games probably in the trenches when escaping the city.

Now how far did we get, well we found Bill in Bill's town and wrapped up just before leaving 'the bar' which had a lot of supplies. So I saw basically all the set up, saw Joel and Tess's relationship, and had my first encounters with the Clickers and Runners. 

The game does sound great, but visually... depending on the lighting, things either look awesome, or they look off to where I have a hard time seeing. The swimming section I saw when going into an area that has spores really was tough to see things.

Something that really bugs me is the lack of trophies to give an idea of progress, I thought that it was something done with the Remastered version, but the PS3 version was also lacking in actual story related achievements.

So against my better judgement we will play The Last of Us Remastered again next week, maybe things will improve as we get into the meat and potatoes of the game.

Problem is, Facebook compressed the hell out of those clips, and they were like at 480p and below because of the hardware I was using at the time.

Also, the first half of work sucked.. but thankfully things picked up when we had an assignment switch. So it was a 50% good shift.

Thoughts On The Pitt in Fallout 76: Its Awful

Good morning everyone,

Last night's stream of Fallout 76 saw me focused on knocking on the Mayor for a Day quest line, as well as the Woman That Feel To Earth, which was more important because it lead to an achievement. That later quest ended up taking me to the building where the grief incident happened several months ago . I am glad to get that story arc done, because we went all in on the Romance portion so in my Fallout 76 story, my Vault Dweller and Sofia are a couple. Also we set Athena up with a body, so I wonder if they will pop up again somewhere.

Now... The Pitt.... is just awful, not only was the daily just to unlock the opportunity to get to that new area was a pain in the ass, but The Pitt itself just is a brutal mess, with incredibly tough enemies and little to no sense of direction or markers. We got into the catacombs, but we couldn't figure out where the hell to toss some things into nests because we had no clue what the nests look liked. You really won't see me doing that on stream again any time soon.

Big thanks to Iceman for joining in, too bad we didn't get to finish Mayor for a Day for him, it seems like we missed getting him an item when were covering that quest line, but he was with me as we explored The Pitt. He also had the same reaction I did to the Pitt as well.

Did watch a bunch of episodes of Dragon Ball Heroes, and for being a series of shorts to promote a card game, they are not bad in terms of a quick Dragon Ball fix. Do like the fact that it is giving Radtiz a chance to shine a bit as well as other short lived characters.

Will Saraya (formally Paige in the WWE) showing up in AEW make me want to pay more attention to that shit-show of a wrestling promotion? Not really, with her neck issues I really can't see her having a match there.

Finished the commissioned short story based around Spider-Man for the PS4, and got another commission request for a story based around Evan Bourn during his WWE tenure. That should be tough...

Got a call from Executive Customer Relations team member that I've been dealing with at Xfinity for the past few months to see if I was satisfied now that everything seemed to be resolved after techs were doing maintenance in the entire area Friday, Saturday and Sunday in addition to the tech visit I got on Saturday afternoon. Basically laid into them for finally addressing the issues I've been pointing out to them for the past four months while also suggesting that since Xfinity bought the bullet and is upgrading its outdated coaxial style network to a fiber-optic one that they do that as quickly as possible.

One last night of Under Night In-Birth Exe:Late[cl-r]

Good afternoon everyone,

Last night's stream of Under Night In-Birth Exe:Late[cl-r] was totally focused on arcade runs, as we went through the nine remaining characters, and yes it took fours to do, because I still had it set at best 2 out of 4 rounds and on normal difficulty. The biggest issue that ends up happening is how block heavy the A.I. gets as you go through the arcade ladder... then there is the fact if one lets the story segments play out at the spoken word pace, it would take even longer. Still, we saw a few things that stood out, got a few supers to pop, but I'm confident in saying Wagner has the best looking super in the game. 

In terms of what's left to do in Under Night In-Birth Exe:Late[cl-r] based on achievements, well there are stuff that is possible to do... but it requires basically endless running through like Score Attack and Time Trials to earn the in-game currency to unlock all the Icons, Titles and Main images... and I'm not going to put the time into that, Now I did try to see if we could do any online matches... and well, I doubt anyone is playing it in 2022, because I don't think it had much of an online following to begin with.

So what will replace Under Night In-Birth Exe:Late[cl-r] on Friday nights as a PS4 title, well I think we'll be taking a look at The Quarry starting next Friday, and I figure we'll get two streams out of it.

So I was expecting a delivery via UPS yesterday, and it never arrived, turned out the driver lied about attempting the delivery and I called them out on it straight away. I ended up getting a call from a Supervisor at UPS saying the driver said 'they couldn't find my house'... and I pointed out 'they have GPS', and my home is right on the corner. So now I'm expecting it today.  

Internet did go down a bit before 5 PM EST, and we had some slight issues during the stream at 654 PM EST and 658 PM

Played some Fallout 76 and wrapped up the Recruitment Blues quest... and if I was doing that on stream I probably would have lost my mind with how well it replicates the DMV experience.

Tested the back up PlayStation 2, and other than having to stand it up for it to read a disc, it works great. Also the different HDMI converted with component cables certainly made Marvel vs Capcom 2 look a lot better than I've seen it previously.

Started messing around with Capcom Arcade 2nd Stadium to begin the long road of getting all the same achievement with did with the original Capcom Arcade Stadium. It's going to be a long road, but I did knock out all the easy achievements within an hour.

Just Doing Wondrous Tails In FF14

Good morning everyone,

Last night's stream of Final Fantasy XIV was different than it has been as of late, because we dedicated the night to doing the Wondrous Tails, which basically just assigns a list of various Dungeons, Raids, Trials and PVP stuff to do try and complete lines on a 4X4 grid. We actually lucked out and got one line, which is very tough to do. Granted I could have re-rolled to try and get more lines, but 99% of the time just getting one is all one wants.

That said, I did discover I can use the Wondrous Tails to level boost other Disciple of Magic / War skill sets, which will make bringing them up a lot easier than I would have anticipated. In fact I already know next Thursdays FF14 stream will lead off with the Level 45 Dragoon job quest called 'Double Dragoon'.

Also did some fishing and finally acquired some Purple Script, which means eventually it will be possible to get the best possible gathering gear, but it will take a while to acquire. We closed out the night with some random PVP, and actually one a match where I lead the team in getting kills... as opposed to getting killed... HA!

Work was a total drag yesterday... stuck on one assignment that basically went no where, while folks on another assignment were cleaning up complete all afternoon. 

Today's Fitness Boxing 2 daily workout featured Difficult Challenge Combo #2, Block Combo and Difficult Challenge Combo #3 for a duration of 34 minutes.

I made sure to check out the intro for MLB's Field of Dreams game which featured Ken Griffey Jr having a catch with his dad Ken Sr. Knowing Ken Jr.'s animosity towards the Yankees for how his dad was treated, it's pretty awesome that this years game featured the Reds, a team both of them played for during their careers.

Started work on the latest commission request for a WWE story based around the aftermath of the 2016 brand split, and I think the client will like the intro.

Got in some work on Mass Effect 3's multiplayer achievement and knocked out the Gunsmith one fairly easily. Rather pleased with the progress I've made in my goal of just looking to get 1000 gamer score on it, and I'm I'm to 885. Based just on sticking to the story, knocking out the last couple of N7 missions and doing the story plus part of the Citadel DLC... I should gain 385 gamer score.

As Usual We Cure The Genophage!

Good morning everyone,

Last night's stream of Mass Effect 3 saw a couple of issues with Xfinity, and a few old fashion frame drops, but it was mostly stable.

We did cover a lot of major stuff, and not so major stuff with the game in terms of side quests. The big thing was we cured the Genophage, because there is no way in hell I would ever pick the Salarians over the Krogan, mostly because for every one cool Salarian there are bunch of assholes. We also took care of the secondary missions involving helping Samara and Jacob, and I did try to make party selections make sense to get extra dialog. I did take Javik with Liara for the Samara mission, just to have them snipping at each other.

Of course, anyone who has seen my play the Mass Effect trilogy before knows how important I view Thane's death scene when it comes to Shepard's character, because Thane is the only love interest in the trilogy that can die in a major moment that is not a decision. Plus, when we get to the Citadel DLC, Thane's memorial service is a lot more impactful because Shepard cries during it.

In terms of the side-side quests, the ones that involve exploring, we covered a good portion of all things that are associated with every system that opens up after Priority: Tuchanka, and that meant a lot of running around the Citadel to get some deliveries made. In terms of these, I just have the stuff that open up after Priorty: Geth Dreadnought, Priorty: Rannoch and Priority: THessia to deal with.

But before we even do that, the DLC quests called Omega and Leviathan will be my next priority and will be featured on tonight's stream. We'll probably open with Leviathan because that is long as hell to deal with, and when that is done, if there is time we'll tackle Omega.

Asked the supervisor at my job what are the chances that I won't get stuck on the current big assignment every day, because it just handcuffs the hell out of how productive I can be. I'm someone who like to hit certain marks, and more often than not I do feel some assignments are meant to just make sure I don't reach my own goals.

We're expecting a big thunderstorm or at least a lot of rain on Wednesday afternoon and evening, hopefully work and streaming will not be effected.

Huge Night Of Persona 5 Strikers

Good morning everyone,

Last night's stream of Persona 5 Strikers didn't have one single interruption which was amazing. Now I did move the coaxel cables as far as possible from any other cables (namely electrical ones), and maybe that was a solution, because I did read that if they crossed it could cause a disruption. We'll see how that plays out for Saturday's stream.

Anyway, with Persona 5 Strikers, we covered the entire second jail which wasn't so bad, as it was pretty straight forward from getting from one part to another... also realized how the level grinding works towards characters achievements, in that a lot of play time with each member of the Phantom Thieves is needed, and this is certainly going to be a lot more rewarding because "Requests' and revisiting prior jails are now unlocked, With time not being as much of a factor as with Persona 5 Royal. that means deliberate trips to do nothing but farm enemies is something we'll probably do.

In terms of the story, Yusuke being the focal point in having to have a come to the fictional son of a fictional higher-being meeting with the second villain certainly severed as a great call back to where Yusuke started as a character. Now from what I've seen of the start of the third arc, it seems Haru is going to be front and center for it, since it involves someone she directly knows.  

Also Futaba has been stealing the show in several ways, her comments regarding Ann and Haru's development in certain areas certainly was hilarious.

Rather surprised the Phillies seem to be holding it together thus far, but with Bryce Harper out till most likely late August, I highly doubt July is going to be as good a month as June was for them. 

My fantasy baseball team holds a 6-4 advantage this week, but with two days left and some guys playing on teams that have double headers today, I'm hoping I guessed right to having the right folks starting. 

Per LvStrkr's recommendation, we've added Blue Dragon to the list of Xbox360 games to play at some point.

I have a 5 days weekend, since it was announced yesterday afternoon that the July 4th break will be extended to included the 5th. So I should have no excuse not to knock out the commissioned Halo fic that I already started writing a few days ago.

Finally a Dragoon

Good morning everyone,

Last night's stream of Final Fantasy XIV was very productive in terms of getting various  things done... and I learned that I will have to do the Savage raids of the hardest raids to even have a shot of getting a weapon that matches my current gear set. Still I managed to conquer the Palace of the Dead to now have access to Heaven-on-High... and also finally leveled up Lancer to the point we can start the Dragoon quests... which means, when we encountered Estinien he doesn't know who I am because of when this set of quests takes place in the grand scheme  of the story. Beyond that, also gained a level on Fishing and Botany to bring those up, with Botany being the higher priority in terms of quests.

There is a new Beavis and Butt-Head movie coming out... sure it's behind the paywall of Paramount+, but the idea that franchise is being brought back is surprising!

Made sure to have things ready to renew PlayStation Plus for the next year... will also need to remember to do the same for the Nintendo Switch before the end of the month. Of course, I have this ready before learning that PlayStation Plus subscriptions do no stack so I'll have to wait to implement it

Well it's confirmed, Resident Evil 4, the game that probably set the standard for a generation is getting a Remake... I am disappointed that Code Veronica has gotten over looked... again.

Played a couple of matches of Smite as Esst, winning one and losing one. I figure I might try to get Esst to rank 10 at a casual pace. Also got in a few matches in Overwatch, working mostly on my escape skills as D.va, which will come in handy in a 5 v 5 situation in Overwatch 2.

Another massive night of Persona 5 Royal

Good afternoon everyone,

Well last night was another massive stream based around Persona 5 Royal, caused mostly because when I know I don't have to get up the next day and I get raided, I will extended the stream, thus the stream got extended multiple times. Now we did have to go through all the time to git towards the battle with Sae which was on November 18th, and we spent a lot of time pushing to build up numerous confidants to get them maxed out. At this moment the only two that need work are The Hanged Man and Tower. This also means, I spent a lot of time on looking up all the fusion combinations to build up the Strength confidant... and needless to say, a lot of sites some wrong combinations listed.

I do love the fact that following the battle with Shadow Sae, the game catches up to the initial prologue and we got to experience it all again this time with context, With that said...let's talk about that near two hours of plot development between Sae's interrogation of Ren is completed and the big bad dude of the base game is Shido. I mean a lot of ground is certainly covered to explain everything as how the Phantom Thieves thwarted the Akechi's assassination attempt on Ren. Now I'm fully able to suspend my disbelief, but a lot of things certainly had to go right for the plan to go off without a hitch. Clearly numerous things could have and should have gone wrong, but all is well that ends well.  

Next time we play Persona 5 Royal, which will be on Friday, we are picking up on November 24th, just after the initial visit to the Cruise Ship Palace. So we got that to look forward too. And in case anyone is wondering, we have put in 105 hours into Persona 5 Royal up to this point.

Got a lead to track down two PlayStation 2 era games, the original Legends of Wrestling and X-Men: Next Dimension. The first game I had years ago, and at some point I must have traded it in back in the early 2000s, while the second game is one of the earliest console fighting games to have an allegedly solid story mode.

SoulCalibur II HD Online has been delisted on the Xbox side of things... which makes me glad I snapped up the game when I did and featured it fairly recently on one of my streams.
