Smite and other notes

Iceman was not able to join us this week so Sea of Thieves was put on hold, which should return next Wednesday

Instead we played Smite winning a few and losing a few, but the big thing is we were joined by PandaSweet, which was awesome. With the exception of one match with a suspect player, every match was competitive so now we have the possibility of doing Smite on Sundays along with Overwatch.

Also I played a bit as Sol, I understand 3 of her abilities except for when she become a little fire ball.

Thank you to amikaze_dalek for the raid following their stream of Minecraft

Tomorrow night we're playing Persona 4 Golden

For out raid we dropped in on ZoneSama for their Zone Out Stream

Work was solid, very productive even if some folks were jerks.

Nearly finished the Star Wars commission request, need to just write a few more lines to wrap it up. In fact going to do that before going to sleep

Overwatch 2 and other notss

Tonight's stream of Overwatch 2 featured several matches in the Mirrorwatch event to progress in that before settling into standard Quick Play matches. Shoutout to PandaSweet for being apart of the fun from start to finish.

Also yes, I do have a pretty damn good success rate when it comes to calling out people for cheating in Overwatch 2, there are somethings that just don't look natural.

Overwatch 2 will of course be back next Sunday.

Tomorrow night we return to Borderlands 2 and progressing through side quests.

Big thanks to tfalexis1165 for raid following their stream of Minecraft

For tonight's raid we dropped in on Kalenal who was playing Final Fantasy XIV

Got some writing done on the first of two Fairy Tail commissions, had a hard time figuring out the intro, but when it doubt make a Cheers reference and basically including Norm for a heap gag.

Going to record this week's episode of the Daria reactions before doing some writing and heading to bed.

The Return of Agents of Mayhem

Good morning everyone,

Day started a little rough as I got some mail related to mom, I'll have to remember to call my brother after work today to let him know what arrived.

Last night's stream of Agents of Mayhem got off to a slightly rocky start, because I forgot that this game doesn't not play exactly like the other games in the Saints Row franchise, with the ability to switch characters on the fly depending on the situation. We mainly did the earl story quests and focused on roaming around, finding collectables and getting the three DLC characters unlocked.

I did go out of my way to knock out a bunch of easy achievements as well by doing all the obvious stuff one would do just by roaming around, such as doing a race, getting into a massive brawl with Legion, finding a hate machine and finding the hidden room withing the hidden room in one of the lairs.

The big question is going to be will I go out of my way to try and 100% the in game world, because I do remember not liking the race to check points side quests when I played the Steam version a few years ago.

For the raid we dropped in on Felkimchi while they were playing Minecraft over on twitch.tv/felkimchi!

Made a new Tier List video recently which actually ended up being making a Play List because of how the creator of a tier maker subject including a very small sampling of Blues & Soul artists from the 60s & 70s. Like how does one leave the likes of Wilson Pickett, Eddie Floyd and Arteha Franklin off of a tier making subject like that? Anyway that video will be on the YouTube channel in a couple of weeks.

Did have a job interview of sorts for PECO over in Philadelphia for a remote customer service role. We'll see if that leads to anything.

Got quite a bit of writing done in the Daria commission request, and as I said last night, when I get a commission request for a story where it's something not WWE related, it becomes a lot of fun to write. Also worked the Star Trek: The Next Generation short story which I'm intending to be March's exclusive for my Subscribestar followers.

Today's Fitness Boxing 2 daily workout featured Double Combo #1, Body Uppercut Combo and Advanced Combo #2

For tonight's stream, we shall continue Agents of Mayhem by going to unlock every other character and trying to do things around Seoul. So on that note we'll see you later over on twitch.tv/fredcasden!

A Day With Some Good News... Cause I Needed It

Good afternoon everyone,

We'll start with the good news, first was able to deal with my local Water utility and was able to get some things sorted, just one more bill to pay under mom's name before it switches to my own. Then during the early parts of last night's stream, I got a call saying there is a 95% chance work will resume on Tuesday. So things moving in a right direction there.

Last night's stream featured Final Fantasy VII Remake, and I was able to clear Chapters 8 & 9, which covered the Sector 5 Slums and everything leading to Cloud being in a dress. Quite frankly, this was rather light hearted on several fronts. I did see Cloud's make over a while back, so realizing that I was going to reach that part of the story during the stream meant I extended the stream to go a bit past midnight.

I probably could've gotten a good part of Chapter 10 done, but I did spend a lot of time exploring and making sure all the side quests was done. I did obviously miss a few things along the way, but since I'm taking a casual approach, trying to find anything minor or not so obvious is part of the fun with it.

I'm actually looking forward to seeing where things go with the story the next time we play it on Friday of this upcoming week.

For the raid we dropped in on FelKimchi while they are playing Minecraft over at twitch.tv/felkimchi

Final Fantasy VII Remake (PS4) Trophies

  • Say It with Flowers: Decorate the Leaf House with a floral arrangement.
  • My First Ability: Max out a weapon's proficiency.
  • Reunited: Complete Chapter 8.
  • Snappy Dresser: Obtain three bridal candidate outfits.
  • Never the Bride: Complete Chapter 9.

Nearly finished the WWE short story commission, was going to finish it yesterday, but I had to deal with somethings I wanted to do on Thursday (mainly breaking down some boxes to get them ready for the next garbage pick up). I should be able to finish the story today. Also need to upload several stories for the folks on the Subscribestar page from my co-writing days. I figure 9 classic stories, plus the new one will make folks happy.

Today's Fitness Boxing 2 daily workout featured Left-Right Step Combo, Hook COmbo #2 and Beginner Combo #1

For tonight's stream, at the moment I have no plans, so we'll play it by ear. So on that note we'll see you later over on twitch.tv/fredcasden!

Ghostbusting With A Moon Princess!

Good afternoon everyone,

Last night's stream featured both Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed and for a bit of time Fall Guys, but the majority of time was on Ghostbusters because we were joined by the amazing Lunar_Princess (who streams over at twitch.tv/lunar_princess). It was a real hoot as we teamed up to capture ghosts, while at times also playing as the Ghost. In fact Luna pointed out how to set a preference for which role to play, so that lead to me actually having an opportunity to try my hand at being a spook! Also, there is maybe the possibility of Luna joining in for some Fallout 76.

Also we got into an extended just chatting session that saw us talking about Persona, Fitness Boxing and other topics, it was a great time on all fronts. In fact one of the things that came up was seeing how much new copies of Persona 2 for the PS1 are going for... and yeah neither of us is getting our hands on that game.

In terms of what happened on Fall Guys, made it to the final round of a solo show and had some mixed success in a few squad shows. It was a Double XP weekend so I was able to get some battle pass levels done.

Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed Achievements

  • Mycophile: Collect all Spores, Molds, and Fungi in a location
  • Daily Dose: Complete a daily challenge
  • Back Off: Down a buster that is reviving another buster
  • Summoner: Summon 100 minions

Nick's All-Star Brawl and Persona 4 Arena... Surprised Me

Good afternoon everyone,

Last night's stream was a triple header which lead off with Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl, and I have to say it's not bad. There is a great variety of characters and representation of Nick Toon characters, although the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle Characters and Garfield stick out because those are franchises that were not original to Nickelodeon. The stages are kind of a mix bag, I really dislike the ones where there is an extremely zoomed out camera. I did go through the entire roster to get an idea of how everyone plays, some characters have some very unique gimmicks, I probably enjoy Michelangelo the most just based on first impressions.

Second game was Persona 4 Arena, and of course I'm no stranger to the cast of Persona 4 in a fighting game as they made up a large part of the BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle roster. Since I'm not familiar with the events of Persona 4, any references to things from it are of course lost on me. Still P4A has perhaps the best Fighting Game Tutorial I've ever seen as it really lays down the basics with no bullshit . We went through the arcade mode on the game's default settings and I have to say the difficulty was pretty solid for a casual gamer like myself. I look forward to seeing if its story mode has the visual novel aspect.

We closed out the stream by playing some Smite, focusing on some of the weekly goals, which involved playing Egyptian gods, so we did a few matches as Eset and Neith, and picked up a few wins. It was a really good.
  • Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl Achievements

    • I'm Ready! I'm Ready!: Complete an online quickplay match
    • Rise and Shine: Clear Arcade with 1 brawler
  • Persona 4: Arena Achievements
    • You know the Midnight Channel?: Tuned In
    • School's Out: You've aced all the tests.
    • Per...so......na...!: Have you burned your dread? Or reached out to the truth?
    • Calm Down.: You suffered a Persona Break in Arcade Mode or online. It happens to everybody...
    • Champion!: You completed Arcade Mode with one character.
    • They Call Me...: You've created a Title for your online matches.

For the raid we dropped in on Starvexia who was playing Minecraft over on twitch.tv/starvexia

Off-stream I did log into Gears 5, to nab the two achievements that were decommissioned. Hey Easy achievements are easy.

We Finished Kingdom Hearts III

Good morning everyone,

Last night we finally finished Kingdom Hearts III... and boy did the pacing of the final act of the game had so many issues, everything little thing having a cut scene to try and time up as many of the loose ends as possible while setting things up for the future of the franchise. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy a lot of the game play, as fighting the hordes of Heartless and getting to see the Train attraction in action was a real treat. Donald Duck's epic solar flare was really bad ass, as was the return of Xion being the trigger to solve the issue with Roxas being stuck in Sora's Heart.

But my goodness, every member of Organization XIII getting a send off with the cut scenes of you defeat basically interrupting the fight is just completely asinine. I get it, they wanted to give these characters closure to various degrees and this was a problem caused by having an uneven number of Warriors of Darkness and Light. The pacing issue is all over the place, where you enter an area have a cut scene, walk to another area, have another cut scene. It really bogged things down. Last night's stream was about 4.5 hours... I think 2 hours were just cut scenes.

Now the question becomes would I willingly want to play Kingdom Hearts III again... no, absolutely not for two reasons. the first being pacing issue as mention before. The other reason is I don't trust Tetsuya Nomura when he's both the writer and director of a project... and all the pacing issues seen in Kingdom Hearts III's final act falls on his shoulders.I mentioned this yesterday, but the fact there are lines of dialog in the game talking about how overly complicated the plot is is a tell-tale sign Nomura has bogged down the franchise with too much stuff. Hell when I think about it, all the Disney worlds in KH3 could've been swapped out for almost anything else and would've worked the same way, they were just window dressing.

This brings me to the future... and the fact that Sora will still be the lead character going forward... eand Kingdom Hearts III went out of its way to set it in tone that he's a fucking idiot. I believe the next main installment must have a new lead character. That's not going to happen, but it should considering there are close to a dozen characters that could step into Sora's place as the lead.

For the raid, we dropped everyone off over with JonnieTortilla who was playing Minecraft over at twitch.tv/jonnietortilla!

KINGDOM HEARTS III Achievements

  • Rook: Defeat 5,000 enemies.
  • No Matter What: Reunite with Kairi.
  • The Battle to End All: Begin the final confrontation with Master Xehanort.
  • Another Chapter Closed: Finish the game and view the ending.

  3. Finish Him... Or Did That Go Wrong?!

Today's Fitness Boxing 2 daily workout was 28 minutes with Front-Back Step Combo, Hook Combo #2 and Beginner Combo #1 as the exercises for a calorie burn of 450 kcal.

So I made it official, Friday's going forward until the game is finished will feature Persona 5 on the PlayStation 4. This will start this week! I'm both excited and dreading what this will be like considering how nuts the Persona 5 community can be.

So for the first time ever during my time playing Final Fantasy XIV I grew frustrated with what I was seeing, namely being stuck with a trio that were clearly grouped together that had no intention of actually accomplishing the task in question. The fact that the one who was Astrologian said that they didn't feel like playing was a first sign indicator, which clearly was the attitude of the other two folks they were playing with, and for the first time in any MMO that I've played, resulted me intentionally quitting the dungeon. I'd rather have that 30 minute penalty to put up with that nonsense

Swapped all the skins for there characters in Overwatch to basic legendary skins for each character, not that I use everyone, but it's a good just in case..

For tonight's stream, we're going to lead off with Forza Horizon 4 and then try and do some collectable hunting in Gears 5!

So on that note we'll see you later over on twitch.tv/fredcasden!

Side Content Is What Carries Fist Of The North Star: Lost Paradise

Good morning everyone,

Last night's stream of Fist of the North Star: Lost Paradise certainly featured some bizarre things, such as having to stare at Xsana for three minutes straight, having to fight Jagi from a First Person Point Of View  Perspective... but the length of the main campaign is certainly coming into question. If I subtract the time of me just roaming around, looking for side quests, playing the mini-games and so forth... then that tells me the main story is only maybe 10-12 hours at the most. Don't get me wrong, I get why that is, as all the side stuff is meant to keep people playing with goals in mind.

Hell, I've fallen for the trap that is FotNS:LP's side content, it certainly is a lot of fun, even if certain things feel as if its meant to handicap the player to some degree (the race against Diego for example), and the reoccurring bounties can be a little silly but considering the 10 Million IDL debt Kenshiro gets put under is a major part of the game's side story. Not to mention finding little things like seeing Kenshiro hand out groceries and other mini cut scenes is a nice motivator.

That said, we did finish chapter eight, so that leaves three chapters left, so we could a few more streams left of this game, and if I want to just throw it in for a night of just mindless tomfoolery. Will be interesting to see how I choose to feature Fist of the North Star: Lost Paradise after eventually finishing the main story.

On a different note, I did watch some of Dub of the North Star, and the three videos that did abridged parodies of some of the big story arcs...they were interesting to say the least.

Big thanks to FelKimChi for the raid during the stream! They were playing Minecraft, working on a rail! Their channel is over at twitch.tv/felkimchi!

Following the stream we raided Joliet4 who was playing Borderlands 2! They often do music streams and can be found over at twitch.tv/joliet4!

Fist of the North Star: Lost Paradise Trophies

  1. Ahem. Yuria?: Stare at Xsana in First Person Mode for 3 minutes straight.
  2. Battler Royale: Complete 50 encounters each in Eden and the Wasteland, 5 scripted encounters, and 5 in-store battles.
  3. The Man who Broke Ties: Completed Chapter 8.

With today's Fitness Boxing 2 Daily Workout, we're back to using Janice as the trainer! The Exercises for today were Left-Right Step Combo, Advanced Combo #2 and Double Combo #2 for a duration of 31 minutes with an estimated calorie burn of 556 kcal.

Knocked off three achievements in Dead or Alive 5: Last Round, which I'm surprised were all Diamond ranked considering they involved triggering the Danger Zones on three different stages.

Dead or Alive 5 Last Round Achievements

  1. Tango Kilo November: Trigger the Special Danger Zone in Hot Zone.
  2. Gesundheit!: Trigger the Special Danger Zone in The Show.
  3. Catch and Release: Trigger the Special Danger Zone in Sky City Tokyo.

Also more achievements unlocked in the Microsoft Solitaire Collection, it's getting really interesting to see what things I can add to my current streak of daily X-Box related achievements.

Microsoft Solitaire Collection (UWP) Achievements

  1.  Aces High: Cleared 3 Aces from the board in a sequence without using the stock pile
  2.  Snowfall Success: Won 10 Klondike games
  3.  Peak Jumper: Cleared a board where your last three cards cleared were at the top of each peak in TriPeaks
  4.  Good To Be King: Played a game of TriPeaks and Pyramid in which a King was the last card removed from a board

Played some Final Fantasy XIV, and I think I finished what was the initial Doma Enclave improvements as it related to the area called 'The Yard'. Also knocked out the MSQ quests Deep Designs and A Whale's Tale. Next time I play I know I'm going to be dealing with a dungeon and the end of the 5.2 content, which means I should be able to get back to the Eden side-story

For tonight's stream, we shall lead off with Forza Horizon 4, seeing what carnage we can get up to in that, and then after 9 PM Eastern, it'll be Gears 5 with Iceman and LvStrkr!

So on thate note we'll see you later over on twitch.tv/fredcasden!

Kicking Off 2022

Good afternoon everyone, and welcome to 2022!

You know when it came to last night's stream, I easily could've just picked one thing and spent the entire night featuring one game.. but no, I made it a variety night, trying out some stuff and bouncing from game to game. I am silly like that. All games but were were played on the PlayStation One

We kicked off the night with the PlayStation version of Shock Wave: Assault. Prior to yesterday, the last time I played it was probably in the year 2000, but that would've been the Windows 95 version. We managed to cover a few of the early missions, and I felt I got a good handle on the controls. Surprisingly, not every button on the PlayStation controller is used. Funny thing, I do remember the Windows 95 version being harder to control, but I don't remember if I was using a joystick, mouse and keyboard or a game pad at the time.

Next was Rushdown, a game my younger brother had, which I don't remember ever seeing him play. It's an extreme sports title, that features timed trials either on a snowboard, kayak or bicycle in 5 locations. It's a really limited game and really comes down to mastering each course with each way of getting down it to unlock other courses.

Broke WWF War Zone, and I can safely say last time I played this was way back in 1998. We did a few matches in the Championship Challenge mode to see if we could get one of the promos to pop (it did for Triple H, whose promo was clearly recorded during his blue blood gimmick). Funny thing I realized about War Zone's roster is that it clearly was set some time in early to mid 1997, and it was clear there was some last minute adjustments made to get things as up to date as possible with Bret Hart and The British Bulldog leaving in November that year, Faarooq's baby face turn in early 1998, and other little details. On a side note, I could not do any finishers.

Yu-Gi-Oh! Forbidden Memories was the next game featured, and boy did I remember why I regretted getting it when it came out in the early 2000s. While the story is well done with some nice visual novel presentation, the game play is the most brutal case of 'RNG' from that time period. You have to have knowledge of every card, know which ones can be combined to make more powerful monsters that can defend or attack. I do think I have a save on one of my memory cards, I would have to check.

Space Jam made its second appearance on the year, as we played two games, winning one of them... because I increased the difficulty in the second game. Still it was nice to get some of the various Loony Tune dunk animations to pop, such as Tweety lifting Sylvester, and Elmer Fudd's face planting against the from of the rim.

I finally tried out Power Rangers; Time Force... and boy oh boy, was I not expecting the wonky hit box detection. Clearly this game was rushed, as I feel like nothing I was doing was really connecting against the enemies, and navigating can be a pain, regardless if using the D-Pad or Analog stick. With the 'beat the level within the time limit gimmick', this is a game where mastering where everything is located is key to be able to get the rewards. That said, the use of Footage from the Super Sentai series Time Force was based on was pretty cool. Also this was the game I was playing to enter 2022.

To close out the stream, I loaded up the Nintendo Switch to play a little Kirby's Adventure, getting through the first two words (as in beating the bosses of both words following the standard stages). I really should sit down to see if I can fully beat this game on stream some day. I also forgot to get a screenshot of Kirby's Adventure... oops!

Following the stream we sent the fun over to FelKimChi who was playing Minecraft! You can find their channel over at twitch.tv/felkimchi!

Keeping my daily achievement streak going and to kick off 2022, I knocked off another Street Fighter II game from the 30th Anniversary Collection.

Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection Achievements

  1. True Champion: Beat Street Fighter II': Champion Edition.

Because of the length of last night's stream I did not put in any time on Final Fantasy XIV, granted it would've mostly been cut scenes anyway near as a I can tell for the Main Story Quests!

For tonight's stream we shall be playing Pokemon Shining Pearl, as we'll be heading to the eighth gym and level grinding as much as possible along the way!

So on that note we'll see you later over on twitch.tv/fredcasden!

The Temporal Mechanics Of Final Fantasy XIV

Good afternoon everybody,

Well last night's stream was long as hell wasn't it... eight hours of Final Fantasy XIV... and boy did we have fun with it.

Now we didn't do much in terms of advancing the main story quest because I had a back log of dungeons, trials and raids to tackle to start with... and a lot of them were tied to the Alexander side-story, which got more interesting with each bit of progress because of the villain seemingly being able to predict the future, but the real kicker is that it's all the result of a predestination paradox.

What is a predestination paradox? It is essentially a closed loop of events where one cannot exist with out the other happening, such as what we saw in Star Trek Online with Sela actions regarding the Iconians because they destroyed Romulus as a result of her attacking them when they were escaping their home world, in the context of of Final Fantasy XIV, the character of Mide Hotgo is apart of a summoning of the primal Alexander which arrives from the future when she is on it and where a journal is lost in the past, picked up by who ends up becoming the villain setting of the cycle of events. The question becomes what actually happened first? It's the whole chicken and the egg theory, if chicken's come from eggs how the did the first chicken come into existence if there was no egg

But when you think about it, in terms as a plot device, the use of a predestination paradox makes the most sense for Final Fantasy XIV, it keeps the story moving forward without the worry of considering alternate time lines... and the tragedy that something can't be changed because it was always meant to be makes the character of Mide more compelling... and I was really hoping to see how the story would end but the queue for the last raid (The Soul of the Creator) wouldn't pop. DAMN IT!

Still we had a lot of fun with everything we did, we got the final raid of the Sky Pirates story arc done, and I can safely say that whoever at Square Enix came up with knock of the edge mechanics for a number of battles in this game has a special place in hell waiting for them!

Following the stream we sent the fun over to long time friend of the channel FelKimchi who was playing Minecraft over on twitch.tv/felkimchi

Twitch Clip Links

I figured out that I can crop the my web cam in OBS without using the filters and adjust it on different scenes, which actually solves a lot of issues regarding lay out placement of different things on my stream. Only took me nearly six years to figure that out!

The subject of old TV stations and Saturday morning cartoons came up towards the end of the stream which proved as a reminder of how much useless information I have inside my head.

If Jim Kaat is being considered for the Baseball Hall of Fame... then shouldn't Jamie Moyer be a possibility at some point too?

Today's Fitness Boxing 2 Workout had Difficulty Challenge Combo #2, Difficulty Challenge Combo #3 and Difficulty Challenge Combo #1 as the exercises for an duration of 34 minutes and a estimated calorie burn of 638 kcal. Also managed to get a perfect score on Difficult Challenge Combo #3 (504 actions performed, none OK or missed)

For tonight's stream, we're going to celebrate the fact that the NHL is back on ESPN by playing the last hockey game that had ESPN branding on it... EPSN NHL 2K5. We're not going to do a season like we did with ESPN Baseball, instead we're going to do a few exhibition games. Chances are I'm going try to keep the stream to about 4 hours considering the length of last night's stream.

So on that note we'll see you later over on twitch.tv/fredcasden!

Deep Space Nine: Civil Defense
