Grandia HD Collection and other notes

Story wise, we knocked out the Tower of Doom and it's aftermath in a pretty straight forward manner, granted I am looking to level up Feena's Wind and Water magic as much as possible while having to focus on Justin using his weapons, and to a lesser extend letting Rapp use a lot of magic as well. We got Milda in the party as well obvious, and I forgot that she is 'supposed to be' 19 years old, but just does come across as being older.

We also extended the stream for an hour to find the Kung Fu Master fight in the Soldiers Graveyard, and we were successsful, granted I completely forgot how much of a pain in the ass that fight is because of all of the boss having passive healing. Next thing on the agenda is finding the Castle of Dreams.

God Eater: Resurrection and other notes

So we saw some plot advancment in God Eater tonight, with Lidlow apparently getting killed and meeting Alisa who apparently has some serious mental issues. We did get up to the third tier level of missions =, so things are getting harder, as proven with the Urgent Mission that appeared which featured four mid-size enemies which exhausted all of my supplies. Think I might focus more on the story aspect of the game going forward

Marvel's Midnight Suns and other notes

Tonight we finished Marvel's Midnight Suns with 70 of the 72 achievements unlocked (the last two involve reaching maximum dark side balance and getting the other 71 achievements). I'm at 105 lightside, so I figure pop in doing a mission or two daily and using dark powers will help progress that over.

As far as the ending and final boss battles go, it was incredible and very good payoff, with The Hunter getting a Commander Shepard in Mass Effect 3 / Makoto Yuki in Persona 3 style ending where they end up basically dead / sealed away. But Midnight Suns does tease a sequel involving Doctor Doom which I feel would be awesome.

Would I do a New Game Plus Run? Well that depends on if I want to grind out a huge portion of the game again and take full advantage of the conversations to push towards dark side even faster.

Anyway, RWBY Grimm Eclipse will be featured on Saturday's stream and on Monday Grandia will take over as our main game.

Sea of Thieves and other notes

Iceman and I had our fair share of misadventures, with our ship getting sunk twice, having to use a row boat to get loot back to an outpost,  finding the Dutchess bountyand battling other vessels. It was rather hilarious to a large degree at times, as is expected with Sea of Thieves.

Sea of Thieves is slated for next Wednesday

Our next stream will feature Marvel's Midnight Suns and we got to hope the abbey clubs start happening to wrap those up

Finished the Persona 3 Commission request, hopefully the client pays for it without me having to send repeated notices. Next story is a quick Arrow one

Persona 4 Golden

Tonight we completed the Rescue Yukiko arc of Persona 4 and realized two things, one being the enemies due respond, two it's going to be real easy to lure about the Reaper and three save-scumming (basically saving and reloading) is very much encouraged (and we did that ONCE just to get an achievement) 

Still one thing I really picked up on is that earning XP is going to be a lot easier in Persona 4 Golden than when compared to Persona 5 and Persona 3, as we're already in the low 20s with the initial crew. 

That said, if each 'dungeon' is 8 to 12 floors, we should be able to pace things out in order to get advancing things at a fair pace. Of course this is going to depend on how complex the floor maps get. Not to mention how much back tracking will be required because I suspect revisiting different dungeons is going to be tied to various side questss.

Got the Arrow commission request finished real early in the morning and started work on the next fic which is WWE related, which will be on my agenda for Sunday. If I keep it simple and light, I should be able to knock it out in short order.

I say that because I couldn't sleep at all last night and when I did fall asleep it was like 6 AM and I woke up at 3 PM.

Tonight's stream saw us finding the last 'quick shot' skill which allows for Jim to have a flaming sword, plus closed in on completing Bamboo Strikes and finding various shrines and collectables. 

Now at this point there are two trophies I'm probably not going to get, finding hidden shrines that apparently are not part of the standard set as well as defeating an enemy with fall damage

Ghost of Tsushima will return next Friday as we continue  to explore as much of the third area as possible without advancing the plot.

Work was a slog, but it was a recruit assignment as we were looking for people who fit the parameters of a study.

About 60% complete of the commission story based on Arrow, could easily finish it early tomorrow before starting on the next one

Borderlands 2 and other notes

So the Tiny Tina's Dungeon Keep DLC for Borderlands 2 is way more interesting than the Hammerlock Big Game Hunt, just in terms of everything making sense in how each area is laid out and no cheap instant fail side-quests. We only knocked out the first two chapters but did every side quest I came across.

That said, I figure the DLC is basically Tiny Tina's way of coping with a lot of the hardship she went through considering how she seems to want to think Roland is alive... well technically he is because I have not finished the main game of Borderlands 2 yet lol.

Also, it really shocked me to realize that the DLC was later released as a stand along game. I get that it's a unique novelty but I'm not sure that was a good idea or even a good value since it's basically about 10-12 hours worth of content.

Have to consider what groceries to get since it's that time again! Also pay Comcast and probably pre-pay the Water Bill as well.

Ghost of Tsushima and other notes

Tonight we started up Ghost of Tsushima and I have to say, I can safely say it's going to be a long journey as it seems the open world aspect of this game seems very similar to Horizon Zero Dawn, which means I'm going to be as thorough as possible exploring every thing on the map. I also set the audio settings for the dialog to be in Japanese with English subtitles, as it seems like the most immersive way to play it, and so far based on how the dialog sounds, I feel I'm right.

Tomorrow night we're wrapping up South Park The Fractured But Whole, focusing on the Mintberry Crunch DLC story, along with possibly taking another shot at the Morgan Freeman boss fight. 

For tonight's raid we dropped in on baenalux who was playing Mass Effect: Legendary Edition, doing their first run of Mass Effect 3

Work is still on hold at the moment, but I am looking for something more stable.

Did knock out an Arrow related commission in fairly short order, with the next story on the docket being a SubscribeStar subscription story based on 2010s WWE. It may take two days to write it

South Park The Fracutred But Whole and other notes

Tonight's stream of South Park The Fractured But Whole got plagued with not one but two brief power interruptions, that ended up dividing the stream into two parts, which is really frustrating when it comes to archiving everything. It's been a while since I had something like that happened, but it was related to PSE&G.

Now we did finish the game and I really liked how the New Kid having a reason for his powers. Was a bit surprised to see that the game ends with having to beat up both Kyle and Cartman, and that seems to be a trend since there is the option to beat up one or the other in the Stick of Truth. We did try the Morgan Freeman fight, which did not go well, as I think I'm going to need a team that fights from a distance to overcome it. We did the Casa Bonita DLC story, and I was night expecting a Michael Jackson cameo.

We also started the Mintberry Crunch DLC, but it appeared to be a lot longer so we're going to continue that on Saturday's stream, and maybe give the Morgan Freeman fight another shot.

Tomorrow night we're starting up Ghost of Tsushima on the PlayStation 4

No update on work resuming, but all bills are paid at the moment so we're in a good spot

Overwatch 2 and other notes

Tonight's stream featured some unusual problems with my microphone that took a few minutes to resolve. Apparently everything but my voice could be heard. 

We did have a wild night of Overwatch, plenty of wins and way too many losses that were due to questionable choices made by the random teammates we had.

Starfield and other notes

Hi everyone,

Tonight's stream of Starfield saw me stick to to the quests I had and progressing storylines a bit, finding the second temple, dealing with some pirates, managing to completely survey and planet and so forth. 

But the biggest thing was successfully romancing Sarah. Now where exactly does that lead, I don't know, but I do know its clearly based on how much time you spend traveling with the companion.

Oddly enough we didn't earn any achievements tonight.

Our next sream will feature Overwatch, and since I did do some off-stream gaming this week, we won't be completely locked into playing Support roles.

For the raid we went over to Kalenal who was playing Final Fantasy XIV

Nearly finished the Arrow related commission story, I'll be working on that once this is posted.

Did a little grocery shopping, mostly stuff for the freezer as I'm pretty well stocked on pasta.

Found out the Panzarotti Spot on Marlton Pike is now doing door dash deliveries, but considering it is a popular local spot, best not to try to order from there last minute around dinner or lunch time.

Horizon Zero Dawn and other notes

Hi everyone,

Tonight's stream of Horizon Zero Dawn saw us focusing on finding all collectables and in the north west portion of the map, which meant finding vantage points, cups and metal flowers, plus one raider camp and oddly enough only one real side quests. We did put ourselves in a great spot to find the remaining of those items the next time we play this, but which day that might be is up in the air because of the pending release of Persona 5 Tactica next week.

Only got one trophy, but it came via a hunting trial, and I need to make sure to find the remaining cauldrons.

There is also the question of how many quests and activities will be rewarding skill points, or if there is a way to respec in game.  I don't believe there is a way to do that.

Our next stream on Saturday will feature Starfield.

Horizon Zero Dawn Trophies

On the writing front, I'm sort of caught up, just need to work on a Arrow commission request which centers around Thea Queen. Following it, I've commissions based on Resident Evil, Pro Wrestling and Ant-Man on the docket.

Bills are paid for this month, but we are entering the time of year where things ended up being really bad in the past, and this year has been so rough there is no way to count on partial unemployment if things go to shit.

Sonic Forces and other notes

 Hi Everyone,

Tonight we wrapped up Sonic Forces, and in less time and attempts than it took me when I first played it on Steam several years ago. In fact, I remember the Death Egg Robot giving me real fits, but what really gave me trouble was the final classic Sonic stage which had an auto-scroll portion. Now I did skip doing SOS and Bonus stages, so keeping focus on the main story wast to my benefit. 

I still stand by what I said about how the game does not live up to its concept, but this is a game that actually has a lot of content and things to unlock, as Sonic Forces was released with the idea of being a game people played daily to grind out various achievements (like collecting 10,000 Rings and defeating 10,000 enemies).

Anyway, Monday we are bringing back DuckTales Remastered to be featured next week as we count down the days to Persona 5 Tactica's release on November 17th, and we will play day of release.

Had a great chat with FnDanteSavage today when they called me, and we talked about life, music and games. It was great to touch base with him, and ya'll should keep your ears out, because he is going to be recording new music in an actual studio.

Work was alright, even if things were made harder because of quota requirements, and I ended up nearly losing my voice because of how people kept asking for something that basically forced things to be entered manually. 

Current commission story in progress is based around Rooster Teeth and it's more schlock heavy than a lot of other stuff I've written lately. It's about 70% finished.

Once it's done, I have  Arrow, Resident Evil and WWE related commission in the queue.

Journey to the Savage Planet and other notes

Hi everyone,

Tonight's stream saw Iceman and I make our way through the DL-C1 content for Journey to the Savage Planet, finding postcards and working our way through the various puzzles to find Kronus. As a small little expansion for the main game, it certainly was bright, colorful and had us questioning our sanity. The Kronus boss fight was certainly wild, involving a few attempts to complete!

We going to continue Journey to the Savage Planet next Wednesday to try and find more things needed for various achievements.

Thursdays stream will feature Sonic Forces, and there will be a huge question of if we'll be able to finish it, but I do remember how things went a few years ago.

Work was  real good tonight, plenty of interviews so having the two unwanted off-days didn't bother me too much. If I can keep up the momentum I can basically negate Monday and Tuesday completely!

Horizon Zero Dawn and other notes

Hi everyone,

Tonight's stream of Horizon Zero Dawn was the longest weeknight stream I've done in a while, guess having more than just one light on helped keeps me from feeling tired. Anyway, we got a lot done as we spent the entire night in the Frozen Wilds DLC area, finding everything we can find and doing all we could before advancing the plot. We found all the towers, all the animal statures and pigments, so we can pretty much focus on the DLC story next time we play it next week before getting back to the base game.Horizon Zero Dawn will be back next Friday night. 

Also on Monday we're going to start Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, which will be featured Monday, Tuesday and Thursday.

Saturday's stream will feature Starfield, with the stream starting around 5 PM Eastern.

Horizon Zero Dawn Trophies

The Phillies lost tonight as Craig Kimbrel blew a lead in the 8th inning in what turned out to be a battle of the bullpens with the Diamondbacks. So now the Phillies need to win two of the next three games to go to the World Series. It's not looking good folks.

So Jury Duty on Monday involves having to take part in a 90 minute webinar at 8 AM... and then apparently staying on call for the rest of the week? I'm rather confused about that

RetroMania Wrestling & Other Notes

 Hi everyone,

On tonight's stream we played RetroMania Wrestling, the much hyped up throw back to the days of WWF WrestleFest, with a roster of 17 mostly known (not exactly) well wrestlers featuring the likes of Austin Idol, Nick Aldis, the Road Warrirors, and the Blue World Order. Game is pretty much pick up and play, the story mode does have a nice little tutorial to get you used to things, but since it's modeled after WrestleFest, it can be a bit button mashy, yet there is such a thing a being able to time stuff to make cool stuff happened. 

The story mode has a bit of a choose your own adventure vibe to it at time, tag team and six man tags are a lot of fun, but the real chaos is the Retro Rumble with eight characters on the screen at once, making it hard to see where you're at.The 10 pounds of gold is basically your standard arcade ladder, but it's a bit repeative as you go through 5 matches to get the NWA title, then 5 matches defending it, with matches following a pattern where there will be a 3-way Elimination, Fatal Four Way and 2 out of 3 fall cage matches taking place.

Plenty of achievements, and we got about half of them, several of which are character related and tied to doing certain things, Good news is several can be combined and done in a single match. 

Since we covered the story mode and explored the game thoroughly I will count it as a finished game for this year's tour.

Work was okay, couple of interviews, but it was solid to make me feel good.

Knocked out a commission request for a Resident Evil related story and tried to explain some things in the continuity that I've established. I believe the next commission request is for something based on Arrow.

Phillies lost a game tough one, so now they lead the Diamondbacks 2 games to 1, so with luck they win one of the next two games and come back to Philly up 3 games to 2. Preferably we want the Phillies to win the next two games but when it comes to baseball I think logically.

Starfield and other notes

Hi everyone,

Tonight's stream of Starfield was interesting, as the game is very detailed and massive, and I can tell already I'm going to mostly keep it on Saturday nights since that is the largest night of the week for streaming. I certainly spent a lot of time looking around for loot and stuff which is probably going to turn my play-though into a slog. Since we're playing it via Game Pass, I'm going to give it the direct casual approach approach. It is a gorgeous game, and the sound mixing seems spot on.

Our next stream slated for 9:30 PM Eastern on Thursday will feature RetroMania, and we'll see if we like that game enough to want to dedicate serious time to it

Recorded  two videos for my YouTube channel, one being my casual review of Day of the Tentacle while will premier in January, and the other thoughts on the RWBY / Justice League crossovers.

Day of the Tentacle, Smite and other Notes

 Hi everyone,

Tonight's stream opened with Day of the Tentacle and it was pretty much a sprint to the finish, even as I was taking my time and making sure I got nearly every achievement in the game, missing two that are not very obvious. I have a lot of positive things to say about the console port of this game, and it makes me wonder why Lucas Arts and Disney has not done remasters of other games from the Point and Click era of the 90s. Obviously I'll be doing a review of this game for my YouTube channel. Question of what will replace it in the weekly line up is up in the air at the moment.

Now Day of the Tentacle didn't fill the entire stream, as we loaded things up with Smite for the first time in a while, winning a couple of matches and losing a couple, playing as Athena, Baset, Discordia and Cupid. Watched Justice League X RWBY Part 2 today, and it was a fun continuation of the first film, but it certainly made quite a few references to things in the later seasons of RWBY I didn't know about, which means I'll have to watch and catch up. There was one minor bit of disappointment in that the second film didn't fully commit to Ruby, Weiss, Yang and Blake adapting things to the DC Universe as things ended up favoring them using their standard abilities in the films climax.

Knocked out an commission story based on the Arrowverse today, and got an instant request for a follow up, which is awesome.

I certainly got something in mind for Halloween, just need to get the pieces together for it.

Day of the Tentacle and other notes

 Hi everyone,

Tonight's stream of Day of the Tentacle was a lot of fun, as I remembered quite a lot of the game considering I've played it a lot since the mid 1990s, not to mention remembering some of the achievements from the Steam version, so we were knocking Xbox achievements out in rapid succession, while also not skimping on any of the games content. We'll easily wrap up Day of the Tentacle on Tuesday night's stream (which is scheduled for 9:30 PM Eastern over on twitch.tv/fredcasden)

I am impressed with how well the Mouse and Keyboard controls were adapted for use with a game pad, which made doing a couple of repeated actions a hell of a lot quicker (such as ringing the bell 100 times), which makes me curious to see how other point and click games were adapted to console play

Word was alright today, picked one interview which made me feel productive and so we get to do it again tomorrow lol.

Knocked out a Resident Evil commission request, which I felt was a little lackluster, but at the same time it was introducing the character of Ada Wong to the nonsense that was established already. Picked up another commission request based on the TV series Arrow to try and feature China White, which is going to be though considering  I don't remember that character at all.

Phillies won tonight, going up 1-0 in the NLCS against the Diamondbacks, now they just need 3 more wins to make to the the World Series.

Platinumed Dancing In Starlight

Good afternoon everyone,

Last night's stream of Persona 5: Dancing in Starlight was everything I was aiming for it to be, we focused on doing the songs on Normal difficultly, managing to get quite a few done rated at Brilliant. We even had to go to the Hard and All Night Difficulty at one point to get one particular trophy to put a perfect bow on this game.

In terms of the Social Links, I found Ryuji's to be the most difficult one to completed because I'm not exactly sure how it was being calculated for a cumulative score, was it based on combos? The score for finishing each song? It wasn't really clear.

Now we did go into quite a few of the DLC songs, which meant hearing music associated with other games in the Persona franchise. I was surprised with how long some songs ended up being, because some tracks were the opening sequence for some games, while others were long as hell.

I will have to make mind up on which Dancing game is going to be next, the one for Persona 3 or Persona 4? Technically speaking Persona 3's Dancing game does tie in directly to everything involving the plot of Persona 5: Dancing in Starlight.

So what's the plan for next Friday night? Well we're going to start another run of Until Dawn and the plan is play it over the course of the next two Friday nights since it's a 'horror' game

The Phillies lit up the Braves yesterday, so they are now in position to advance to the NLCS with a win today. In fact when I turned on the game JT Realmuto hit an inside the park home run making the score 4-1 in the 3rd inning. At the time I'm posting this, The Phillies were leading the Braves 4-2 after 5 innings.

I was sitting in traffic the other day.  Probably why I got run over.

Finished writing the Arrow short story and thankfully I was able to end it where it leaves things open so the client could come back later for future installments. Also picked up a commission request for a story based on Resident Evil 2: Remake.

For tonight's stream we'll be playing Dragon Ball: The Breakers, there is a chance we might include other things as well, so we'll play that by ear.
