Stray and other notes

Tonight we wrapped up Stray and I actually remembered quite a bit from the previous play through to where I was able to avoid a lot of the death traps from before. I do kind of wonder what I missed or did wrong to not get certain achievements, but this is a game that has replay value and does have a chapter select so I can jump around to different points.

Our next stream will feature either Dead by Daylight or Ghostbusters Spirits Unleashed, I'm leaning towards the former in terms of trying to get achievements, but of course the later is certainly a lot of fun just for the hell of it.

Amazon has a real problem in using so many boxes for small items that all could be put in one box. 

Finished a Resident Evil related commission and so the next one is based on Avatar The Last Airbender

Overwatch 2 and other notes

 Today would have been my mom's 64th birthday, and well, she was on my mind all day, but it was made better since my brother and his family came over for a little party to remember her. 

Tonight's stream of Overwatch started an hour late because I was kind of out of it, but we did do a full four hour stream, and we were joined by PandaSweet fir a large chunk of it. We certainly had moments of questionsable teammates which drove us nuts, but we had a nice mix of wins and losses. Picked up three Plays of the Game as Junker Queen, D.va and Soldier 76. Other characters used were Orissa, Genji, Echo, Torbjourn, Moira, Kiriko and Reinhardt. We also picked up an achievement as well, so all and all positive vibes.

Our next stream will see the continuation and possible wrapping up of Stray on Monday.

Overwatch 2 Achievements

• Rocket Man: Get 2 killing blows with a single use of Soldier: 76's Helix Rockets in Quick or Competitive Play.

I got one short story commission in progress based around Resident Evil with another seven stories behind it this week, two of which are subscription stories for my SubscribeStar page. 

Assuming we finish Stray on Monday, Tuesday we'll play Dead by Daylight or Ghostbusters Spirits Unleashed.

Iceman won't be able to join us on Wednesday, so my next Xbox solo campagin game will start that night. which will be Asura's Wrath.

Tonight's stream was a bit shorter than usual for a Saturday because of the length of last night's stream. But at the same time, since we were playing Stray, I was able to remember 90% of the first half of the game so we were able to get all the way past AntVillage. 

Of course I was taking my time trying to find various things... and safe to say, since the stream was nearly four hours there was no chance to finish it in two hours. Did have a little trouble finding the last soda can and the yellow flowers, plus had a few deaths in the zurk chase sequences.

Anyway, Stray will return on Monday night's stream, and if we can get through the remainder of the game on that night, we'll probably do something like Dead by Daylight or Ghostbusters Spirits Unleashed on Tuesday.

Our next stream for Sunday will featured Overwatch 2... and will be dedicated to my mom, as she would've been 64.

Horizon Zero Dawn and other notes

Tonight we wrapped up Horizon Zero Dawn, extending the stream to six hours... I could have finished it sooner but I was trying to find various power cores for the ancient armor, plus quite a few cut scenes lasted a while, and I did go in deep on every side conversation where possible. But we did knockout about 70% of everything that was pretty much possible to do in the game with a few stray things that can be knocked out if I ever want to go back and try to do trophy clean up.

This game was as good as people say it was, will I want to play it again, start to finish? Probably on a new game plus run with all my gear and stuff.

The next PlayStation 4 game on the tour will be Alan Wake Remastered, which we'll start playing next Friday.

Horizon Zero Dawn Trophies

Work was solid tonight, got three interviews, even if some dudes were just rude... one person was a real treat to speak to even it took 40 minutes.

Didn't finish the story I had on deck for Friday, so it gets pushed back to Saturday. This is due to recording my casual review for Persona 5 Tactica, since I do like to record those as soon as I finish a game. In fact I'll be doing one for Horizon Zero Dawn before I go to bed as well.

Sunday would have been my mom's birthday... and that is weighing on my mind a lot.

Persona 5 Tactica and other notes

Tonight we wrapped Persona 5 Tactica, and I have to say, start to finish, this was a great little game, a nice way to introduce people to the mechanics involved in a tactic style game. The story certainly lost a little steam with the whole fight for your beliefs in the face of stagnation, but since it was focused on a politician finding his nerve to do the right thing, it does come across as ironic considering how the Republican party here in the United States refuses to do the right thing. 

Without question I will play this again, as there are only two achievements left, one for completing the compendium and the other for passing the the baton ten times. There is also the mater of the DLC story, but since I don't care for the character of Akechi I can easily treat the DLC as something extra to do (since there are no achievements tied to it)

So that said, our next game will be the Xbox Series version of Stray, which we'll start on Saturday night.

For our next stream on Friday, we'll be getting back to Horizon Zero Dawn

Persona 5 Tactica Achievements

Finished a Mass Effect story commission and waiting for the payment on that, and started work on the next commission request which is based on a recent game in the NFL

Tonight's stream of Overwatch was pretty solid, big thanks to PandaSweet for being apart of the fun. I picked up two plays of the game, one as Echo and one as Brigitte. In addition I played as Kiriko, Junker Queen, Reaper, Torbjourn, Mei, Soldier 76, Junkrat, Hanzo, Ana and a few others. Certainly trying to use a variety of characters in addition to my mains.

Our next stream will featured Persona 5 Tactica as we pick up things in the 3rd Kingdom. Also did a bit of achievement hunting in the game as well as seeing how one could grind levels and cash quickly.

Persona 5 Tactica Achievements

• Ride, Johanna!: Pulled enemies into Vortex with Makoto 20 times.
• Sleep Craftsman: Inflicted Sleep using fusion weapons 20 times.

Knocked out a pretty good commission story based around Star Wars, and th next one on the docket is (sigh) WWE related, not sure if I'll try and get that to 3000 words.

I do know this, once Horizon Zero Dawn is finished Alan Wake Remaster will be the next PlayStation 4 game featured on Friday nights.

That said, once I'm finished with Persona 5 Tactica, it'll be followed by Stray!

Overwatch, Super Bowl and other things

Good morning everyone,

We had a little bit of work yesterday morning just to help close out one of the assignments that came in, so hey, I got to feel productive.

Last night's stream of Overwatch 2 was a lot of fun, picking up two plays of the game as Symmetra and Moira. Big thank you to PandaSweet (who had three Plays of the Game as Moira!) for being apart of the fun as well, as we carried as many people to wins as possible but we ran into some bad luck in regards to people just intentionally preventing progress.

Did finally see the new Antarctica map, with is a best of three capture points, and there is certainly a lot of ground to cover to keep the opposing team from overwhelming you if you're defending the capture area.  My biggest gripe with it is the blue'ish tint it has, which does make it hard to see things

Started writing a new Mass Effect short story commission, getting a fair bit done. I'll tell you, writing two characters is a lot more fun than writing three or more.

Went to a little store yesterday afternoon to pick up a few things, and man I was lucky to find a half-gallon of milk, a loaf of bread and the last pack of Chips Ahoy cookies they had (it's been a few weeks since I had any cookies). I was also looking to see if they had any eggs, and they were fresh out. Oh well.

Did have the Super Bowl on during the stream, and I was wearing my mom's Eagles jersey... now despite them losing, I know my mom would've loved the game. It's a shame the game came down to basically a referee making a call they should've just let slide because of how the game has gone. Sure the result of the game may have still been the same with the Chiefs getting a field goal, but at least the Eagles would've had a chance.

Cousin Frances got every single Trophy in Stray over the weekend, and just knowing that makes me want to put it on the line up of things to revisit during this years gaming tour.

Stray was awesome... Yes I cried a little

Good afternoon everyone,

Last night we played Stray... and unfortunately, the stream got split into two parts, but we did play the entire game in one night. And I'll admit right at the start, I cried at the end because I was reading every line of dialog out loud, so the last few lines broke me. I do have a clip where you can hear my voice wavering.

In terms of the actual game, I loved it... our nameless cat certainly had one hell of a bad day... and not because of the 9+ times I got killed. I did enjoy a lot of the early puzzles and exploration that was involved. I know for sure I missed a lot of stuff, and made some choices that made some achievements unobtainable. I did find some of the later enemies (The Sentinels ) tough to deal in terms of getting past them, because I was kind of powering through when I should've been looking for patterns

The funny thing is about the plot with it basically being trapped in a walled city or vault is that one could consider this is what Fallout would be if there were no humans and mostly robots who evolved into having human qualities to some degree. I'm probably reaching with that statement, but oh well. Does give me a reason to go back and play it again as part of next year's line up.

Would I recommend Stray for folks to play, yes, wholeheartedly yes!

So an update Xfinity, I was called yesterday saying they did quite a bit of work in the area on Thursday, so they want to come out tomorrow to check the lines to see if things are where they are supposed to be. Now there was someone out this morning checking on upstream signals, and they saw the history that the power levels were at 50 or above going back to July 17. I was also told RF lines (?) were being replaced in the area to help resolve a lot of issues.

What's even better than Ted Danson? Ted singing and Danson.

Why did the invisible man turn down a job offer? He couldn't see himself doing it.

In regards to Mass Effect 3, I have been putting in time over on the N7 HQ site to build up the Galactic Readiness. With luck I'll be able to get the in-game achievement for that by mid-week. We'll see. if I'm right with that prediction.

More Side Progress In Final Fantasy XIV

Good morning everyone,

Last night's stream of Final Fantasy XIV featured a few issues with Xfinity, with a few instances of Upstream Power Levels shooting well over 51, causing stream stalls and frame drops. I made sure to take screenshots when I was able to get into the gateway to see what was going on.

In terms of what we did in game, I knocked out various little side quests, did some fishing and finally wrapped up the Botany job quests at level 70... which was a bit of a pain in the ass than it needed to be because the final items needed to be harvested were at a location that only spawns like every hour or so. Big thanks to PandaSweet for being apart of the fun on a few raids and trials in the daily roulette, as it is always fun to have Panda watching out back!

The failure of HBO Max just goes to show that major media studios trying to gate keep their content isn't going to work, and unfortunately it has lead to the halt of a lot of stuff that apparently was practically done and ready for airing. Of course anyone who has followed the history of anything associated with Warner Brothers / AOL-Time Warner / Discovery, would know they have botched the hell out of many things by overestimating what the consumer base wants.

Apparently DNF Duel is having issues with population when it comes to online match making, but the issue is more with fighting games having a very short shelf-life with online play. Why? Because there is always a new game coming along. Hell it takes a lot for me to stick with a fighting game, but if I have a goal or objective you know I'll put the time in with it. Hell, if I was to look at the top 10 fighting games I've put time into using say Exophase to track hours they would be.

Obviously some odd ones are Power Rangers and Street Fighter 30th, because i played two different versions, so I just added their time up. Now a lot of these games have a story mode, hell that basically makes up the majority of Persona 4 Arena, but it has no online community to support it because it's a near decade old game. WIth the BlazBlue games, I know a ton of time was dedicated to their story mode with some limited online play here and there. I know I played online a lot with MKX , while MK11 was more of grinding towards achievements in off-line modes, same with Jump Force.

But from what I understand, DNF Duel is just relying on online game play... so yeah, it's no wonder people aren't sticking to it,

Work continued to drag, as the assignment I'm stuck with is just a real moral killer because of when folks prefer to be interviewed... oh well, at least I can pass them along to others.

We Finished Persona 5 Strikers... No Thanks To Xfinity

Good afternoon everyone,

Last night's stream had a 40 minute delay, granted it was started at 6:30 PM Eastern, but a ton of connection issues thanks to Xfinity pissed me off to the point I called them and blistered them on stream for it. The Rep I spoke too certainly went out of their way to not diffuse the situation by patronizing me when I told them exactly what was going on and then denying transferring to a Supervisor, and refusing to ask for when I would be available for a tech visit. Which turns out will be for today between 2 PM and 4 PM... whiih I was not aware of until after I called them back at 2 AM last night.

That said... once we got the connection stable after I did a third reset of my modem yesterday, things went mostly smoothly for the night as we had a straight forward approach to finishing Persona 5 Strikers. In fact, the story arc is extremely straight forward. I did rather enjoy Sophia unlocking her Persona... and just knowing it's name is Pandora prompted me to yell "put her back in the box". Since I was also using a guide, we had a real good idea of how to plan for the final boss of the game... in fact I split the team into 3 groups for the phase two portion (Panther, Makoto and Yusuke for the first part ; Morn, Noir and Skull for the second ... leaving Joker, Wolf and Sophie for the final) 

I did enjoy how every major plot point was wrapped up nice and neat, but what's left is basically a ton of grinding and monster hunting... which would be kind of a pointless because the last one requires a second full play through.... so maybe we'll reinstalled Persona 5 Strikers down the road just for the purpose of trophy hunting and grinding.

Now with Persona 5 Strikers finished, the next PS4 game will be Stray, which recently game out, and will be featured next Friday night.

Well That Attempt In Cultist Simulator Was Epic

Good morning everyone

Last night's stream of Cultist Simulator was unexpected in the fact I did the entire stream without dying until the very end when I just had no clue of what to do. We finally found 'The Woods' which unlocked a lot of possibilities to see how deep the game can get, and also found another called 'The White Door'. I think I found a pretty solid balance of balancing various things, so I'm guessing a possible plan would be to quickly build up painting as a 'job' and building up the funds to do expeditions. Also I really need to stop sending my followers off on dangerous assignment.

Not totally sure when we'll play it again, but at least I feel like I learned enough to not have totally botched attempts as were the case with my first attempts last week.

As seen as the start of the stream, we finally added the 5th volume of the Life is Strange comic series to offically complete the set. I actually through I had it already. We also added a new Funko figure of Ed and Ein from Cowboy Bebop, giving me 25 Funko figures total.

Oddly enough I had more issues with my internet connection during the afternoon, and not during the stream. Did seem like a total service issues as I saw the blue light of the main cable box flashing.

Work was kind of bleh yesterday, mostly due to switching from assignment to another with the second assignment just being really dull when it came to the few number of interview attempts.

Messed around a bit with MultiVersus last night following the stream to get a handle on it in anticipation for streaming it, and it's solid, it's probably a little easier to follow than Super Smash Battles, and has a higher quality to it than Nickelodeon All-Stars Brawl. So I'm looking forward to giving it a whirl on stream. Also... early on, I'm a Harley Quinn main.

People are shocked that with the start of training season that all the attention on Philadelphia sports is now on the Eagles and not the Phillies. Folks, that's basically how it goes year after year, even when the Phillies had that stretch of success from 2007 to 2011, the Eagles were always the priority.

A Night of Cultist Simulator

Good morning everyone,  

For last night's stream we checked out Cultist Simulator, which is available on Steam... and it is basically what it's advertising, it's a simulator of forming and maintaining a cult. Set in the early 1900s, there are several branching paths, and a lot of luck, resource management. 

While the game may look simple, it's very complex as there are timers on everything, and there is a slight sense of anxiety when there are over a half dozen things to manage. There are a number of random effects that can occur, and the way to fend off things like dread, restlessness and other factors can cause a ton of headaches. It is very easy to lose track of things, as I proved several times when things look like progress was was being made/

This is also a game where reading everything out loud (or summarizing) is kind of important for streaming, which should play to my strengths considering my day gig, but the font is rather small and blends too much with the background with it being a light blue on dark blue. May not seem like a factor, but I position my monitors to a fair distance away to avoid eye strain.

Now will we play Cultist Simulator again, more than likely yes, as it falls into the category of 'Throw To', as it's perfect for filling in a night between major games, splitting part of a stream with. .And if the rate of unlocking achievements for it are correct, it is clearly a game that would have me trying to figure out how to accomplish everything it has.

 For the raid we dropped in on JusticePS who was also playing Cultist Simulator over at twitch.tv/JusticePS!   

We went ahead and added the digital version of Stray for the PS4 to the collection, so that is something we'll certainly check out as soon as possible.

Today's Fitness Boxing 2 daily work out featured Intermediate Combo #2, Hip Shape Focus Combo and Straight Combo #2 for 28 minutes.

Trimmed up my hair last night, mostly sides and rear of the crown (top of the head), where my hair always grows in kind of a dual layer. If I can slide my fingers through the back of my hair and basically lift a good portion of it almost like the trunk of a car, then it's time to give it a trim. Also the decrease in hair volume in the back means I can comfortably rock a ponytail

I rather like the new Overwatch League exclusive skin for Mercy, as the medieval knight armor certainly fits with her often having dialog with Reinhardt and Brigitte, who also wear medieval style armor.
