Ghost of Tsushima and other notes

Stream started late because I fell asleep watching Mr. 3000... good movie... seen it before, but yeah... totally dozed off. 

Once the stream started we went for four hours to make up for being late, getting two trophies in Ghost of Tsushima while setting up for an easy one to do next week involving getting five kills in a standoff. Was rather shocked by the  revaluation regarding Lady Masako, but the Yukijo stuff hit too close to home as I though about my mom when I realize what was happening

Ghost of Tsushima and other notes

We got a fair bit done in Ghost of Tsushima, as we found Goro and did the big two man raid on the Fort to advance the plot, along with doing various little side things (Fox Dens, one Shrine and a few side quests).

Next time we play it on Friday, there will be the question of advancing the story right away or working our way along the western half of the map. I'm probably going to do the former.

Saturday's stream will feature Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League to see the Joker related stuff and work towards a couple of achievements, hopefully one for doing all the AR challenges will finally pop.

I was right to be concerned as we didn't have work this evening because of the Easter holiday, will be interesting to see if we have work on Monday.

Working on the commission request based around Kuroko's Basketball, I would have had it finished, but I was waiting on Instacart to arrive with my groceries.

Spoke with my father and I was right, he hated Ghostbusters Frozen Empire, calling it woke garbage, as he took issue with the characters of Phoebe and Trevor. What a fucking idiot. Keep in mind, he was really excited about talking about his 'recreation' of baseball seasons from the 1950s...

Sea of Thieves and other notes

Tonight's stream of Sea of Thieves saw Iceman and I setting sail, and finding a ton of loot, but with a lot of effort in regards locating various buried treasures on one island. I did get better at using the compass and the map to have a better idea of how to orientate myself to figure out where some things are. We picked up three achievements, however, they have zero gamer score but they are associated stepping on the islands that have outposts.

Tomorrow night we're back to Final Fantasy XIII. I did do a ton of grinding, getting up to about 800,000 CP, so we can progress forward with trying to knock out the remainder of Chapter 11, which should open up the 9th tier skill trees.

We had work tonight for the first time since a week prior to last Thursday, it was a bit of a tough night getting back into the swing of things.

So with work back, I didn't finish the story I was working on (another WWE related commission) as I was taking my time writing it  till about 3 PM when i found out there would be work.

The Borderlands movie looks fine, like an general popcorn flick. As long as it has action and explosions, then it's going to be fine.

Tonight's stream of Sea of Thieves saw Striker and Iceman join in as we replaced part of the quest we were working on last week to finish it and then we continued on to the next chapter, tracking down Captain Jack Sparrow. We also found a underwater treasure haul and got a ton of loot! All in all a great time on the high seas!

Tomorrow night we're resuming Final Fantasy XIII picking up on Chapter 7

Work was okay tonight as we were trying to close out an assignment that is focused on things up in North Jersey, ran into too many folks who didn't speak English.

Currently working on a Resident Evil related commission request, which is going to end up more plot heavy than anything else as I need to write out Nemesis and Mr. X

Saw the new skins coming to the next Overwatch battle pass and the Moira one looks really cool. And if they are doing a Cowboy Bebop crossover, I may be really interested in that.

We're 89% done with Saints Row

Good morning everyone,

Woke up with a damn Charley horse in my right calf this morning.... yeah that was a rude wake up call

Last night's stream of Saints Row saw a big focus on the remaining side activities, dealing with the final two ventures and their side activities, plus the final eleven Wanted side quests, which meant doing the Donut Run main quest to open up the final six of those. So a good portion of tonight was spent traveling back and forth all over the map to get all this stuff done.We closed out then night by doing the main story mission 'Corporate Retreat', which was certainly a surreal way of closing out the stream.

That said, the obvious incoming betrayal by The Nahaulli is pretty obvious and not well hidden considering he wants to do the Train Heist, and didn't like the idea of a Team Building exercise. Still this does tie things together with the beginning of the game and the opening cut scenes.

Now as the title says, we're 89% done with Saints Row, so tonight's stream means we'll have a good shot at finishing the main story, and I'll probably end up doing some achievement hunting for some basic things as well, because the real goal is to get the Saints Skyscraper built to give the game it's true ending 

On a side note, I increased the gamma on how OBS displays things via my capture card, because as last Saturday night proved, it was showing things way to dark.

Saints Row Achievements

Received the storage bags for my DVD collection... and I needed 22 of them... so I was right in my estimate over how many DVDs I have. I'll worry about my physical video game collection down the line. The reason why I want to get my entire DVD collection in order is  mostly due to thinking about eventually moving things up out of the basement, and having the DVDs ready for moving around and setting up something for when family comes over to watch movies and such seems like a good idea.

Big thank you to Mr. Ward at PSE&G in helping with retaining all existing services and making the transition of things from my mom's account to my new account incredibly smooth. Here's hoping things with American Water work out.

Spoke with my Aunt Hilary yesterday, and if there is one thing I can say for sure is that I cannot think to far ahead in terms of any trips or stuff, with everything so in-flux and my own constant worries about whatever can go wrong (as the recent Water Heater incident proved, things will always go wrong when you least want them to). 

Recorded a new tier list video based on Saturday morning Cartoons... but the tier list I found had so many duplicates! UGH!

Got some writing done as it relates to the Mass Effect short story, and I'm still not back to where I could write a 2000+ word story in under 4 hours. Hope to finish it today actually

Mom Staying in the Hospital, and What Did We Do In Final Fantasy XIV

Good morning everyone,

First, update on my mom, she spent another night at the hospital, and after speaking with her this morning, turns out the doctors are saying she should stay, a large part being because of what I pointed out the other day in regards to Uber & Lyft not having proper vehicles to use for contracted hospital transport to and from people's homes. She is eating, and had a physical therapist see her, and I believe she will still get her scheduled radiation therapy treatments. In terms of how I'm handling things... its... worrisome on so many levels, but I kept getting the impression people are just waiting for me to snap. I know my father doesn't want to hear me vent, he made that particularly clear a few days ago. I know internalizing it is 'bad', but one has to keep up a strong front right? I don't really have a choice, I either step up or crash and burn. Too bad everything I've been trying to do has been a utter failure.

As for last night's stream, we played Final Fantasy XIV, and I was happily surprised to find the next two installments of the Endwalker Hildibrand story arc involving aliens, bunnies and a tabloid reporter. We also finally accessed the Moogle Tribe Quests, and got Carpentry up to level 51. Did a couple of raids, and basically got my face stomped in... I really hate the NieR inspired raids... I truly do Still we had fun.

Got only a little bit of writing done on the Mass Effect short story commission, as I was distracted with checking in on mom, so I didn't feel like writing too much during the afternoon. I hope to finish it today, then get started on the next commission short story which is based on WWE.

Recorded a new Tier List making video for my YouTube channel, this time focused on 80s movies. It ended up being an hour long based on trying to justify where I placed each film. Doing it did bring back to my mind the disappointment that was Kingdom Hearts III in regards to its World selection, since I did give The Great Mouse Detective and The Black Cauldron fairly high ranks.

You Got To Be Groot At What You Do

Good morning everybody,

I'm strongly considering adding Dragon Ball Z Abridged quotes to my stream deck's sound board...as I found a full playlist of them on YouTube the other day.

Anyway, last night's stream featured Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy, and let me say it, there is a lot of parallels between some elements of it's story beats and quick time events and it's Telltale counterpart. Which is cool, as it would warrant an alternate play through to see how things shake out different based on dialog choices.

That said, I found its game play, graphics and sound mixing to be pretty damn good. Some of the dialog in combat situations can be a little (okay very) repetitive, but the fact that the other members of the team make fun of Starlord (the character we the players directly control) for wandering off more than makes up for it. Of course since I am streaming it, the games awesome licensed soundtrack can't be heard, but I am surprised that the use of the games own original 80s rock music isn't heard instead... so that would be the one downer.

In regards to the story, outside of the Guardians pissing off the Nova Corp at the very start by going to in a quarantine zone, and the loose plot point of a dude looking for 'god' in the quarantined area , everything in the first four chapters of the game feels like it's just a typical day. Of course when I wrapped up tonight's stream, it felt like those apparent loose plot threads will be back in full force!

Made more off-stream progress on the Jump Force achievements yesterday afternoon, outside of clearing 100 different Free Missions, I don't think any of the remaining achievements would be possible this week.

Jump Force Achievements

1.  Upgrade Master: Performed 50 or more upgrades at the Upgrade Counter.

My off-stream Final Fantasy XIV adventures saw the focus on the Main Story Quests from "A Fresh Start' up through 'Paradise Fallen' which wrapped up the level 76-77 quests that were apart of the original Shadowbringers release. The dungeon, Malikah's Well and it's bosses were pretty straight forward. The solo quest in 'A Feast of Lies' was interesting in that it was a much more straight forward fight one on one against Ran'jiit... then again after facing him the other night only as Thancred, remember Ran'jiit's attack patterns when having the full use of my actual character was a walk in the park.

With luck I should have the level 78-80 quests that end with the actual quest called 'Shadowbringers' by the end of the week. We shall see, depending on long in queues and the stuff that I do on stream.

For tonight's stream we will continue Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy and continue to have a great time with it!

Getting Lost In The Shadows Of A Raided Tomb

Good Morning Everyone,

If you're going to get lost might as well have fun doing it!

That was basically the theme of last night's stream of Shadows of the Tomb Raider, which again ran longer than I was planning to mostly because a) I kept getting lost even while checking the map and using the Survival Instinct and b) I kept distracting myself trying to find little collectables and goodies while realizing some of the stuff could have been disposed of to get better items! 

Still, we found a few side missions and progressed the main story to where Lara is now disguised as the villains to try and sneak into their temple to free an ally, but if I'm looking at a list of chapters correctly, I should be about half way through the game, which means things certainly slowed down a lot when compared to the first two games in the trilogy.

The funny thing is this, since reaching the Hidden City, the game really opened up for exploration, hence getting lost and distracted... and this is where Shadows of the Tomb Raider shines. Granted the exploration does distract for the sense of urgency to stop Trinity... hell it does raises a lot of questions about the in-game time line (as in over how many days). Way I figure, none of the adventures of the 'Survivor Trilogy' seem to be more than a handful of fays if cut scenes are anything to go by.

Fitness Boxing 2: Rhythm & Exercise EX Achievements

1. Karen's Contender: Train With Karen for over 30 Hours
   

Instead of switching trainers, I'm going to continue with Karen as the trainer to go after the Karen's Champion achievement which is train with her for over 50 hours, then we'll cycle back to Janice and Hiro to get their champion achievements before focusing on the other trainers.

Just going to saw it, you lose the right to say someone is misusing aspect of your culture the second you start misusing the culture of someone else. Let us all remember that somethings are meant for a particular audience and just because you happen to like it, it doesn't mean it should change just because your feelings are hurt.  

My Final Fantasy XIV adventures to wrap up Stormbringer brought forward a rather turn of the redemption of villains, as I got to play as Alphinaud when the airship was on was shot down, and he is rescued by someone who calls himself Shadowhunter... but it's obvious that he is Gaius van Baelsar, who was a heavily featured villain in the A Realm Reborn arc of the story. While clearly more of a bad-ass anti-hero, the fact that he's popped up means more teaming up with old foes in Shadowbringer when I get to it.

Also found a real interesting side quest called the Corpse Groom that ties in with some NPCs I saw real early in the game. Goes to show there are quests linking to just about every damn thing in this game and no characters are truly pointless!

Now I was hoping to finish the 4.4 content last night, but I had some trouble with the battle where we have to play as Y'shtola for story purposes... however unlike when it came to having to use Alphinaud, the stakes were higher and there was a dedicated enemy attacking me at all times. Still it was worth it to see Y'shtola saying the following to Magnai "I am... not interested, little sun. Try again when you have become a man."

For tonight's stream we'll be leading off with Jump Force, getting in the first wave of any online matches we can get to try and get the achievements associated with online play, then around nine we've got Gears of War 4 with Iceman!

A New Pokemon Journey Begins

Good afternoon everybody,

Hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving holiday...

Last night stream featured Pokemon Shining Pearl, and needless to say, there is something about it that bugs me and that is the apparent day / night dynamic that may prevent me from putting together a well rounded team of Pokemon... which also is making me regret picking Piplup as the starter, as a water type, because I have read that fire types are few and far between in this game. I've also noticed some weird balance issues where the game will make the final Pokemon of major encounters a lot tougher than it probably should be to deal with.

I think one of the most divisive things I've read about Pokemon Shining Pearl (and it's counterpart Brilliant Diamond) is the art style is the chibi format for mostly everything except battles and major cut scenes. I get why this is the case, as it resembles the original release... but when you look at Pokemon Shield and Let's Go Eevee where there was an uniformed look from world to cut scenes to battles, the Chibi art style can look very jarring 

That said, I am intrigued by what the hell Team Galactic is up too of capturing Pokemon, creating energy and having their sights set on the stars and on ruling the world (or region). Of the 43 Pokemon I've seen, I've caught about 22 of them, the biggest missed opportunity was an Abra. But I did discover that since I've played both Pokemon Shield and Let's Go Eevee, I was able to get two Pokemon, them being Mew and Jirachi, which means having two Psychic type early could make things a lot more straight forward.

Also leveling up a low level Pokemon is a lot more accommodating in Shining Pearl than it was  in both Shield and Eevee, once I had Mew and Jirachi, I put Mew in the party, and it didn't take too long to get it caught up to the rest of my squad... where as in Shield it would take a while to get a new Pokemon caught up and in Eevee it was just better to catch a higher level version of something that fit into the party.

How fare did we get in the first night? Well we cleared the first two gyms as well as had the first two major encounters with Team Galactic... and I believe my usual approach to Pokemon games of over level every one to compensate for match-up difficulties should be able to carry me through to the end of the game... which means a lot of grinding in terms of battling wild Pokemon in addition to trainer battles on the way to the next gym. Which I suspect would be around level 30... and my team at the moment is like 20-25. 

Now when will Pokemon Shining Pearl be featured, well at the moment I believe it will settle in to the Friday night slot starting next week. So that will shake out the rest of the week like this.... Saturday for Final Fantasy XIV... Sunday Night with Overwatch... Monday & Tuesday for Shadow of the Tomb Raider... Wednesday split between Nickelodeon Kart Racers 2 & Gears of War 4... Thursday for Jump Force. Seems like a logical lineup!

As indicated the Unparalleled Stamper achievement is apart of the EX set in Fitness Boxing 2, which becomes available once you unlock all of the normal achievements within the game. It does bring forward a new achievement to chase, which is Honored Stamper, which is to  Acquire 400 stamps.

My Final Fantasy XIV adventures following last night's stream was focused on the Manderville quests... and without question, it was the most gentlemanly adventure within Final Fantasy XIV. With it's own unique trials and a hilarious mystery that involves revenges, sisters and zombies, it certainly is worth checking out. But now I find out there are two more quests lines associated with the most gentlemanly of investigators for both Heavansward and Stormblood... I'm eager to track those down!

Grabbed a few things on-sale for Black Friday: Garfield Kart Racing, Fight Night Champions, The Witcher 2 & 3. Figure we can pair up the first two games on a special double header to look at, while The Witcher games would be for larger campaigns.

For tonight's stream, well we're going to try and make it a Jump Force stream to continue it's story, if it gets bogged down with the issues from Tuesday then we'll do some random stuff!

Lara Croft Is Basically Searching For The Holy Grail

Good morning everybody,

Work was a little short yesterday, but we got one assignment done that probably hung around a day or two longer than it needed to, and I did over production because of the shorter time frame, so it works out a bit for me!

Last nights stream of Rise of the Tomb Raider brought forth a realization... the Divine Source is basically the Holy Grail, and in several regards Rise of the Tomb Raider could be compared to Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade, with how Lara is like Indy and following the path their father's started. That said, I don't think Indy quite has Lara body count in said adventures. That said... Jacob is so obviously the Prophet that it does make Lara seem rather silly when she sees a mural of him and doesn't put two and two together.

While little was learned about what the Divine Source really is, it's dangers are quite clear not to mention Lara feeling conflicting about what she wants and what is the right thing. There were several night action set pieces, and a handful of deaths.... one of which involved a bear. Now why is it the bears can eat so much ammo... I don't get it, particularly when shooting them in the face! 

Where we ended up in the story was heading towards a Archive where a map is supposed to be, and if this is anything like Tomb Raider (2013), then the Deathless Ones are going to be like Stormguard, ancient warriors that may be a pain in the ass to deal with... which probably means the shotgun is going to really come in handy. We'll see about that when Rise of the Tomb Raider is resumed on Monday's stream!

Successfully tracked  down brand new factory sealed copies of ESPN NHL Hockey for the PlayStation 2 and Jump Force of the PlayStation 4. The reason for adding both is this, first I thought I still had my original copy of ESPN NHL Hockey, but I probably traded that in for when ESPN NHL 2K5 came out... and as far as Jump Force is concerned, since it was announced for de-listing next year, figure it would be good to grab a copy that could potentially rise in value due to the nostalgia market, but that seems unlikely because of the general response to the game upon its initial release.

My Final Fantasy XIV saw basically the first half of the level 68-70 quests knocked out from The First of Many up to the start of The Price of Freedom, so the big things is that we saw Zenos have Fordola go through a procedure involving the captive Krile that seems to have given her the echo, then have her order a giant cannon to be fired at their own troops and basically set up for the next big push to capture the place where the cannon was fired from. Lyse is now defacto leader of the resistance, and everything is getting to where I'll have a show down with Zenos... in what will obviously be a trial... so that should be unpleasant. 

That said some of the side quests to get the Aether currents in The Peaks region are way to spread out to where you it's a pain to get to where you need to be. Square Enix really makes you earn flying... I'm really hoping that Shadowbringers is a little more resonable like how Heavansward was in terms of getting the Aether currents... and yes I am aware there is another area in Stormblood that I have not reached yet that has another set of Aether currents to find and I'm dreading that!

Today's Fitness Boxing 2 daily workout featured Difficult Challenge Combo #1, Difficult Challenge Combo #3 and Difficult Challenge Combo #2 for a duration of 34 minutes and a estimated calorie burn of 641 kcal.

I also recently reached out to Imagineer, the developer and publisher of Fitness Boxing 2, asking on if there any achievements being added because of the recent addition as 'Guy' as the trainer. Here is their direct reply.

I wasn't expecting to actually get a response from them, but I'll just assume because their website is in Japanese, and requites Google Translate to navigate it, they felt compelled to respond. After all, how many Americans are contacting them about Fitness Boxing 2? Now this reply was received via email, but I shall not post their email address
