A Wild Saturday Night

Good morning everyone,

Last night's stream opened with Overwatch 2 because I was playing it before the stream to knock out a couple of challenges... and was joined by PandaSweet, so we got in a couple of hours in which was awesome. Really had a lot of fun and the pace of play certainly allows me to do some great things as Moira when I know Panda is the second healer. Looking forward to more games as Overwatch 2 takes its rightful place on Sunday nights starting tonight.

Now the plan was to Play MultiVersus last night and we did, and I mostly played as Wonder Woman, and we got on a pretty solid winning streak. Perhaps the big highlight was winning a 4-player Free for All as Harley Quinn. That shocked the hell out of me.

We wrapped up the night playing Fall Guys, and there was moment that I certainly feel like I got screwed... going into a Squad Show with no-teammates. How the hell is that possible?!  I did nab the Star Trek bundle, but I'm still rocking the Ripley skin I picked up last week.

I did have the Phillies game up during the stream, and right as I ended the stream the final out was recorded in their 2-0 win over the Cardinals.But you know what's funny... the Phillies haven't had a home game since September 25th... Game 3 of the Division series against the Braves will be on Friday and in Philadelphia.

I did see some folks who are Damage role only players in Overwatch 2 complaining about how tough it is to take down Tanks and Supports, to which I say, cry me a fucking river because back in the Beta of Overwatch 2, Tanks and Supports were being melted left right and center. Overwatch 2 is actually incredibly balanced compare to what it was like when I played the Beta.

Started work on a third consecutive short story commission request based on the show Arrow, and thankfully the client picked up on where I was looking for the creative direction to go in to make it easy to write. I'll probably have it finished by tomorrow of I choose not knock it out today.

More Dancing in the Starlight of Persona 5

 Good afternoon everyone,

Last night's stream of Persona 5 Dancing in Starlight was a blast, not only did we knock out every achievement related to difficulties and gimmicks, we put ourselves in great position to actually get the Platinum Trophy. There is however one big road block and that is the requirements for Yusuke and Ryuji's which require a cumulative score and 'perfect' scores, then there is Makoto's which requires completing stages with different accessories. These are required to the Social Links related achievement done

That said, I can' finish the game at any time by watching the Social Link for Caroline and Justine's 'Rank 8' which I have unlocked. But I really want to get the everyone up to Rank 8 because when I played Person 5 Royal and Persona 5 Strikers, the bonds between the Phantom Thieves makes the game memorable.

So that said, next Friday's stream will really see the grind being put on to make progress towards completion. Because we're not 'finishing' the game until every member of the Phantom Thieves is at rank 8.

Persona 5: Dancing in Starlight Trophies

• I'll Steal Your Hearts, My Dears!: Explored all the girls' rooms.
• A Safe Tightrope Walk: Cleared a stage with both "GOOD ratings won't break combos" and "Game Over with combo break" enabled.
• I've Taken Your Rooms, Lads!: Explored all the guys' rooms.
• A Phantom Thief's Most Indispensable Tool: Obtained all the pairs of glasses.

Work was really good yesterday, felt productive because I actually was, and I do enjoy that feeling when things just fall into place.

Finished the recent Arrow fic requests to complete another commission, and got promptly requested to do a third consecutive fic because of the world building I've managed to do. 

I did not wake up until 3:30 PM this afternoon... bleh

Also had the Phillies game on while I was working, had my TV on mute, but when I finished work, I saw the entire rally in the 9th inning with the volume turned up. So that was a hell of a kick off the weekend.

Finding more follow up quests in FF14

Good morning everyone,

Last night's Final Fantasy XIV was another nice casual night as I finished up all the side quests I could find in Gyr Abania, then covered all the side quests in Kugane and knocked out nearly all the side quests in Ruby Sea.

Perhaps the biggest thing was actually seeing there was a continuation of a quest that unlocked the dungeon called Shisui of the Violet Tides, which was surprising. It's actually makes that dungeon stand out a little more because there are some Little Mermaid references with the titles, and actually seeing there is a tie in to doing the Custom Deliveries, which I'll eventually have to dedicate time too... once all the side quests are done.

Beyond that there were a two instances of frame drops with the upstream single dropping to 0 for the briefest of instances. Haven't had any issues at all with my internet service since September 17th. So this means I'll have to keep an eye on things... again.... FUCK!!!!!!

Blizzard basically did some emergency maintenance to try and sort out the mess that has been the Launch of Overwatch 2, but on the plus side they are ditching the phone / SMS nonsense for players who played original Overwatch. Of course media outlet called out Blizzard for their bullshit in regards to announcing the phone / SMS gimmick less than a week before the game launched.

Got some writing done in regards to the Commission story request for a follow up to the Arrow story I wrote earlier this week. If I come up with a good enough ending might get the client to ask for another follow up involving implied characters.

Had a decent day of work yesterday, we closed one assignment in short order which is always good. Now they said there would be a surprise for today... and it's a contest... joy...

Fun with Friends in Fallout 76!

Good morning everyone

Last night's stream of Fallout 76 was a lot of fun as we were joined by PowerThumbz and Iceman for some hilarity as they gave me a big assist in getting some quests done. We managed to get all the dailies done in and made use of Iceman's Custom World for silliness in terms of using the Fat Man mini-Nuke launchers.

In terms of the story progress I was focusing on the Brotherhood of Steel story arc, and safe to say I'm firmly locked into siding with Paladin Ramani in terms of how I want the story to be from my point of view. Part of what makes that easy is that Knight Shin is just unlikeable.

No achievements were unlocked, but we made progress on the scoreboard, I also need to remember next to week to head down to the southern portion of the map to find a lake so that I'll have every major location located to make fast travel easier.

Speaking of Overwatch it was virtually impossible to get into the game yesterday and I'm not buying that its a DDoS problem because if it was, wouldn't all of Blizzard's games be having issues?

The order seem very weird when one factors in that Genji is one of the hardest characters to use for new comers.

Work was decent yesterday, got on an assignment that allowed me to productive and not stress over dealing with rude people. Granted I was talking with people who lean so far to the right they are falling over. But hey it was decent

Who ever came up with the schedule for the first round of this year's MLB playoffs needs to be smacked. The fans in some markets are screwed because some games will be starting in the early afternoon. I get they don't want these games to overlap, but the schedule is just idiotic.

What's the best thing about Switzerland? I don't know, but its flag is a big plus!

My favorite word is "drool." It just rolls off the tongue.

Overwatch 2's Troubled Launch

Good morning everyone

Well Overwatch 2 got off to a rough start with massive queues, disconnects and general problems but once we were able to get in we did have a lot of fun. I racked up six plays of the game as Moira, D.va (2), Torbjorn, Brigitte and Symmetra. Big thanks to LvStrkr for being apart of matches, and we queued up as role queue, so we got to be Tanks, Damage and Support fairly evenly over the course of the matches. 

I did want to see if I could get the achievements on the Xbox side of things that I already unlocked on the PC side but had no luck logging in last night, but was able to do so this morning. Oddly enough only one achievement unlocked... proving that not everything was syncing up.

In regards to all the problems Overwatch 2 had, I do believe they all could have been prevented had the developers at Blizzard paid attention to the launch of Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker last year and actually try to make sure server capacity was up to the task, instead of waiting to the last minute and launching the 'registered phone number' fiasco that was announced at basically the last minute last week.

Oddly enough Blizzard's officials said they were experiencing a massive DDoS attack... but it was not stated on official notification feeds, but on the personal accounts of those officials. This further compounds an issue of transparency, because if they announced that was the issue then a lot of us (myself included) would have been a lot more understanding

Overwatch 2 Achievements

• Decked Out: Collect 50 unlocks for a single hero.

Now because of the issues with Overwatch 2, the stream actually opened with Smite, and we got in a few matches as Nike and Aphrodite. I do love 'The Sparrow' skin on Nike and how it's basically a glorified Green Arrow reference in terms of how it looks. Never really understood how Aphrodite skill set, but i needed to play a game as a mage.

Also worked in some Paladins as well, big thanks to PandaSweet for some matches in it. Had a really good Team Death Match as Ying racking up 16 Kills pretty easily. Of course the usual issues with Paladins rear their ugly head with bad team composition.

Work positivity sucked yesterday, I don't know why the hell I keep getting saddled with this one assignment, it's not like I'm getting much progress beyond just getting possible leads other people can follow up on. I'm dreading looking at today's assignment chart.

The Last of Us actually became half-way decent

Good morning everyone,

I will admit, despite how shitty the game looks whenever it's dark or entering an area with spores, The Last of Us actually became 'kind of' fun to play once I got past the Pittsburgh part, and with the next few areas being shorted and more condensed while moving the story forward. 

That said, the relationship between Ellie and Joel does come across as more forced than anything else when she 'runs away'. Ammo continues to be a hindrance at time but I'm glad I'm playing this on the 'Easy Setting' just to one or two shot most enemies. 

Now the way I figure there are three chapters left with two major sections each, so there is a possibility I could finish The Last of Us Remastered during a stream next week. We'll pick up at the start of the Winter Section, after Joel was injured when ambushed in the University.

Today I gave my dead batteries away. They were free of charge.

The Phillies beat the Astros and clinched the 3rd Wild Card spot. Kyle Schwarber ended up being the key to victory... and funny enough I saw a clip on YouTube for the MLB Network discussing Schwarber's hitting approach. 

Finished the Arrow short story commission request last night, based it around the Pilot episode to leave plenty of room for follows ups. And the client immediately asked for one... best part is I can make it a direct sequel

One last night of old Overwatch

Good afternoon everyone,

Now color me embarrassed because I thought to Overwatch servers were going down at midnight last night, but nope, turns out they were going down at noon today, but we got in a full on 8 hour stream, with plenty of breaks and water had. Ended up getting five plays of the game, one as Bation, three as D.va and one as Reinhardt. Hell even got the Triple Threat achievement for Bastion as well which shocked the hell out of me.

Big thanks to BangBangBang and PandaSweet for being apart of a lot of matches in what turned out to be a marathon stream of kicking ass and taking names. I got in matches as quick a few characters including ones I don't normally play... and the list of those I used were Doomfist, Echo, Sigma, Bastion, Roadhog, Wrecking Ball, Zarya, Lucio, Cassidy, Ashe, Mei, Brigitte, Mercy, Reinhardt, Moira, & D.va. Hell I even had a pretty good moment as Doomfist of all people. like in theory I know how to use him, it's just that in execution it's not easy.

Still I made sure to close out Overwatch with a win and we look forward to Tuesday night and Overwatch 2!

Started work on the Commission request for an Arrow short story, and got the intro and set-up written. Thankfully some folks did transcripts of many of the episodes to find something that works. 

I uploaded all of my Plays of the Game in Overwatch for 2022 to my YouTube Channel. Had to do it across two videos because for whatever reason the exporting feature in Windows' Video Editor hates anything over 30 minutes long.
