Today's Notes 7/7/21: Adventures With Aria

Good morning everybody,

Last night's stream of Mass Effect 3: Legendary Edition saw me knocking out a bunch of fetch quests for things on the Citadel that help build up the war assets, as well as one side-mission, Fuel Reactors, which is a mission I don't particularly care for on PC, and really didn't like playing using a controller, because of the Brute that appears if you send a squad mate off to assist Captain Riley, leaving you to the deal with the Brute and other reaper forces a man down.

Also tackled and knocked out the Ex-Cerberus Scientists mission, which sees the return of Jacob, who clearly forgot he was a biotic when he gets wounded when we finally arrive to rescue everyone. There is a nice call back to the Project Overlord content for Mass Effect 2, and a few Easter eggs depending on who is in your squad for the mission.

The real meat and potatoes of the stream was Omega, helping Aria regain her lost 'kingdom', and where we officially see for the first time a female Turian within the Mass Effect games in Nyleen. Depending on your approach you try to have a positive influence on Aria, butting heads with her by making paragon choices... or you go full renegade and follow the tone area sets (which is a lot more fun). Running around Omega and leading a ground war is a lot of fun with the exception of where I have trouble getting Shepard to sprint when I need her to really move. Also the lack luster design for the Adjutants really sticks out as they look like mini elcores.

I have been delaying advancing the plot because in the main story, the next big thing is the battle for Thessia, but next time we play Mass Effect 3 will be on Monday, with the next order of business being the Leviathan side-story and everything associated with that (which is three major missions).

Anyway, we did knock out a few achievements last night, which I'll now list.

  1. Problem Solver: ME3: Evacuate a scientific facilityShield Breaker:
  2. ME3: Overload the shields of 100 enemies
  3. Sky High: ME3: Lift 100 enemies off the ground with powers
  4. Savior: ME3: Free Omega from Cerberus Occupation

And of course we have have clips to moments from last night as well!

Twitch Clip: Well he dead... and he dead too!

Twitch Clip: Chilli's Baby Back Ribs

Twitch Clip: Achievement: Sky High

Twitch Clip: Is that Aria's Couch?

Twitch Clip: Well Okay! (Grenade To Adjutant's Face)

We added Dead or Alive for the PlayStation One to the collection yesterday, and it's funny that on the back it pushes the look of the female characters as being a big selling point. That probably wouldn't fly today.

Today's Fitness Boxing 2 daily workout went 31 minutes with an estimated calorie burn of 449 kcal. It is always interesting to see that difference combination of exercises never results in the same amount of calories being burned despite the duration being the same. We did do a little extra today, so the total time spent exercising was 37 minutes with an estimated calorie burn of 534 kcal. We did complete an in-game achievement today as well which I'll list next

  1. Evan's Trainee: Perform 10 daily workouts with Evan

Also of note, we're up to 9 out of 10 for the Evan's Buddy achievement, which we'll reach tomorrow.

For tonight's stream, it'll be split between Power Rangers: Battle for the Grid and Tom Clancy's The Division, the same was it was last Wednesday. Basically ranked matches in the first game and the roaming around for fun in the second with Iceman.

And on that note we'll see you later over on twitch.tv/fredcasden!

Ghost of Tsushima and other notes

Tonight's stream of Ghost of Tsushima was focused on exploring the northern portion of the map, finding a lot of things before realizing...
