The Capcom Fighting Collection

Good afternoon everyone,

Well last night's stream was a hell of a showcase for the Capcom Fighting Collection, and I'll give my impressions of the games shortly. We did have two instance of a full network bandwidth issues... which is amazing considering we had no issues on Friday night! Also there was a couple of power outages following the stream, and one this morning. Hopefully that is not something I'm going to have to start worrying about.

Darkstalkers: The Night Warriors - I have played this before, because I have the PlayStation port, so playing the arcade perfect port wasn't that much different. For all the Darkstalkers games I played as Morrigan because she is the one character from the franchise that I was familiar with because her basic set of special moves are all performed similar to the traditional Capcom shotos (Ryu/Ken/Sakura).

Night Warriors: Darkstalkers' Revenge - First time playing it, this was clearly an upgraded version of the first Darkstalkers game, just with additional characters. Not much of a game play difference. This introduces Donovan and as well as a headache for me trying to understand the Darkstalker timeline when it comes to the remaining 3 games in the series. Also this Nigh Warriors also had the same 'special meter' from X-Men: Children of the Atom.

Vampire Savior: The Lord of Vampire - First time playing the 3rd game in the Darkstalkers series, and this does away with the usual two of three round format with a near continuous fight approach, where remaining health carries over between when someone is knocked out. It's very similiar to the the home releases of the X-Men vs Street Fighter, Marvel Super Heroes vs Street Fighter and Marvel vs Capcom on the PlayStation.

Vampire Hunter 2: Darkstalkers' Revenge - First time playing, and the game play is the same as Vampire Savior, but the game itself seems to me more of a sequel to Night Warriors: Darkstalkers Revenge based on the attract screen... and also the fact that Night Warriors: Darkstalkers' Revenge was called Vampire Hunter in Japan. Also of note this game was never released outside of Japan... and based on its game play, outside of the roster, nothing seems improved from Vampire Savior.

Vampire Savior 2: The Lord of Vampire - First time playing, and well, and like VH2:DR, this game was also never released outside of Japan... and the titles just makes things more confusing. Also of note, the attract screen features B.B. Hood holding Lilith by her skull, while in VH2:DR, it's Donovan holding Morrigan by her skull. So are their parallel timelines in the Darkstalkers canon over? Also, game play is the same as VS:TLOV

Cyberbots: Fullmetal Madness - I have played this before as part of the Capcom Arcade Cabinet, and I learned that it was a spin off of Armored Warriors, a Capcom Beat 'Em Up, that I have played before... and was wondering if there was a connection since some of the mech-sprites appeared in the Beat 'Em Up. Went through the arcade mode of Jin, which comes across as just the major points of an mid-90s anime. Gameplay does have some major difficulty scaling towards the end of the arcade ladder.

Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo - Obviously I'm very familiar with this, since I did featured the HD Remix version a lot on stream. The arcade version does have a charm to it, and we nearly had a perfect run, but as usual, but I made some mistakes at the end when facing Akuma when reaching the final opponent... so it was no different than when I was playing the HD Remix version.

Super Gem Fighter Minimix - I have played this before, as apart of the Street Fighter Alpha Anthology collection, in fact we streamed that earlier this year, and there seems to be some subtle differences between how both versions play, at least in terms of how responsive the controls felt.

Hyper Street Fighter II: The Anniversary Edition - I have played this version before years ago as apart of the Street Fighter 15th Anniversary Collection released on the PlayStation 2 which included Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike and Street Fighter: The Animated Movie. This is my least favorite version of Street Fighter II... and of all the games in the Capcom Fighting Collection, this was the only one we did not beat on stream last night.

Red Earth -  First time playing it, before last night the only experience I've had with Red Earth is via Capcom Fighting Evolution, and boy does Red Earth come across as ambitious but rubbish. It's a beautiful game, but the hit detection is all over the place in that you have to be standing in exactly the right spot to get anything done. We went through the arcade mode as Tessa because why the hell not, and learned quickly that heath does not fully regenerate between fights for anyone, and if you are continuing, the enemy doesn't get it's health back.

Now there are a lot of achievements associated with the Capcom Fighting Collection, and I certainly am not going to go for all of them, there are are few I feel like would be solid to have as accomplishments, but things like beating each game with every characters, get every ending and other nonsense like that has me going 'no'. At least there are no online PVP achievements.

Also we did included some Fall Guys last night, big thanks to PandaSweet and LvStrkr for being apart of the squad as I got my first win and first win with a group! That was a lot of fun.

Twitch Clips

For the raid we dropped in on TracyDoll who was playing Friday the 13th: The Game over at twitch.tv/tracydoll!

During the stream we got 300 bits from the viewers, and a resub from LvStkr for the 39th month in a row! Always grateful for the continued support! You guys and gals are awesome!

As announced during the stream, my copy of My Little Pony: A Maretime Bay Adventure will be the next game on the PS4 following Persona 5 Strikers.

Today's Fitness Boxing 2 daily workout featured Body Straight Combo, Body Uppercut Combo and Advanced Combo #2 for 31 minutes.

It's the start of a new week which means looking back at all the things we played last week which included Overwatch, Persona 4: Arena, Overwatch 2, Star Trek Online, Fallout 76, Final Fantasy XIV, Persona 5 Strikers, Capcom Fighting Collection & Fall Guys!

Finished the commissioned Halo fic based around Halo 3: ODST, and it came across pretty solid I think. Granted only 1700 words, but with my unfamiliarity with the franchise beyond what clips I can find on YouTube and what I understand from the FanWikis, it's a win-win.

If you're looking for tools to help with streaming or communicating from home with work, check out what Xsplit offers over at Xsplit.com, use the promo code CASDEN to save 10% on your order! If you're looking for just general stuff, of course you can swing over to Amazon using my affiliate link: https://amzn.to/3L8N1Yj.

I kind of screwed things up a bit to getting the Brigitte Medic skin for Overwatch by accidentally gifting a tier 3 sub... but oh well, got the skin anyway. And speaking of Overwatch things, its Sunday so we'll be playing that this evening!

So on that note we'll see you later over on twitch.tv/fredcasden!
