Kirby and Terry Are My Smash Mains?

So among the games I picked up for my Nintendo Switch was Super Mash Bros. Ultimate, because I was always fascinated by the game and after playing Brawhalla in 2019 for a bit, I put it at the top of my list of Switch games to get. And I've basically been playing it off an on, going through classic mode to unlock characters, and a couple of weeks ago I did stream it a bit on a night where I also played Mario Kart 8 to get a feel for the 'Spirits Mode'.

Now I think most people new to Smash end up starting with like Mario... but for me, it seemed right to go with Kirby as the first character I used the most. Not only because Kirby basically is the one character who survives in the big opening segment of the Spirits adventure mode, but when you consider that Kirby's creator Masahiro Sakurai is also the dude who created Smash Brothers, and who for all intent and purposes puts his health on the line developing the game, it made the most sense to use Kirby as my go to for nearly everything. Sure other characters I've gotten a better instant knack for using like Daisy and Zelda, but Kirby seemed like the best the use. The fact he can nearly get back to the platforms when being smashed away with how many float-jumps he can do certainly helped. I also had some familiarity with Kirby's abilities because I have played Kirby's Dreamland a little, so is inhale and copy ability made it an almost much do in every match I've played thus far. In the few online matches I've done, I've basically held my own with Kirby... and when I lost matches for when 'challengers appeared' when clearing Classic Mode, Kirby was my go to in the rematches

But as of a couple of days ago, I've started using Terry from the Fatal Fury series. Now I've never devoted much time to Fatal Fury or its related games, but since Terry was a DLC character I kind of had him available from the start. Figuring out what works with him is a little different than with Kirby because Terry is a fighting game character, so thinking of combos based on what's avaliable is at the forefront of my mind. Anyone that's seen me play Power Rangers Battle for the Grid, Mortal Kombat X, Injustice 2, or various Street Fighter games knows I love to figure out a basic set of combinations for a character. But Smash's controls and inputs are far different than any normal fighting game, so Terry's been a little puzzle. I have figured out out that his up-special certainly can clear folks out if I can hit it two times in a row at just the right angle, and his down special when in the air is a great way to get out of being surrounded because he comes down in an angle. Also noticed his charged attack (kind of like a bit roundhouse kick type thing) really does wonders in smacking folks off screen.

Probably not that most technical ways of describing these things and this probably would've worked better with video, but I didn't feel like recording anything at the time I was writing this.
