We finished The Quarry... Everyone Lived

Good afternoon everyone,

Last night's stream of The Quarry we had one instance of an apparent drop in Upload speed, which split the stream in two, but I'll take only one minor incident over the nonsense that happened on Thursday night.

Now we managed to finish The Quarry with everyone surviving, which was an impressive feat considering how easily some things can lead to characters being killed off. One of the key things I was trying to do was follow ups on earlier actions, such as using the Stuffed toy found in the cabins earlier in the game to make sure Kaitlyn survived in the 10th chapter.

I did like how the Fortune Teller acted as both as a hidden antagonist and guide, it was a great misdirection similar to the menu android seen in Detroit Become Human... which funny enough is another game with branching paths I should do a second play through of.

Speaking of replays, since I didn't find all the evidence (missing one), it meant I didn't get the 'most positive ending', but there are incentives to replay The Quarry because of different endings and achievements. So for sure we'll have this on the agenda for the fall of 2023!

Now which game will replace The Quarry on Friday nights? Well I'm not 100% sure yet, I'm considering a few things, I know Until Dawn is something I'm saving for October. So Maybe Alan Wake on the PS4? We'll see what I figure out.

Comcast will be out in my neighborhood to replace the service drop line, but of course after Thursday's incident I 100% bet there are grater issues with their infrastructure that serves my area.

A Troublesome Start To The Quarry Thanks To Xfinity

 Good afternoon everyone,

Last night's stream of The Quarry got off to a real bad start, as we ended up having two stream interruptions that reset the broadcast thanks to Xfinity. There was an upstream power level at 55.8... and funny enough, these issues occurred between 7 PM and 7:30 PM... exactly as Thursday night. Of course there were 2 times during the afternoon that saw the internet fully going down.

As far the Quarry goes, we had a rough moment after the Prologue where we were stuck on a loading screen for quite a while. Apparently that is an issue that goes back to the original release of the game regardless of which console people were using. That said, unlike Until Dawn, the majority of the cast is actually likeable... outside of Jacob.who comes across as super unlikable. There is also the issue with the faces of the characters where the motion capture worked too well because a lot of the expressions the characters makes just look creepy.

Now we did cover all the way through to the end of Chapter 5, and so far I've kept everyone alive once things went crazy.. I will admit I admit I adjust the controls to be a little fairer to me because I remember some of the gimmicks from Until Dawn just didn't make sense on how they were executed. On the other hand, I do find the writing and overall dynamic of characters of Emma, Kaitlyn, Dylan and Ryan to be rather solid, with Abigail and Nick being 2nd tier.

Also... have to comment on the aspect ratio... apparently it's for a 21:9 monitor and TVs... and there is no way to change that... which makes screen shots and stuff rather awkward. Why did the developers do that makes no sense. And if the screenshots look dark as hell... well the game is also very dark based on default settings.

Finished the commission request for a story based around the PlayStation 4 Spider-Man game. Basically had to rework an early scene to make it work because I have not (yet) played that game. It's on the list of things to do. Also may be getting another commission request to do something based around WWE 2K20. Haven't confirmed that yet. But in the mean time, another commission request came for a standard WWE story

A Saturday Of Variety

Good afternoon everyone,

Well last night's stream opened up with Sammy Sosa High Heat Baseball 2001 on the PlayStation, which ironically was released in 2000. Unlike Triple Play 98, released in 1997, SSHHBB01 has not aged well in terms of its presentation which was a shame considering how many awards and how highly regarded it was when it released. Thankfully it has a lot of options that allow for a casual experience, but its certainly not a sports game I would want to revisit unless I want to do a full season run of the 2000 MLB Season.

We also took at look at 007 Racing, also on the PlayStation, which was a game I was moderately okay at playing 20 years ago, but trying to relearn it while playing it with a 16:9 ratio instead of 4:3 which made things harder to see. We did managed to clear the prologue and saw that the cheats still work, so that's a positive. Forgot how bad the voice acting was when it came to folks doing a bad Pierce Bronson impression for many of the Bond games of the late 90s and early 00s. On a side note, the audio mix for 007 racing is fucking horrific when playing with headphones.

Next we hooked up the PlayStation 2 to mess around a bit with WWE SmackDown Shut Your Mouth. Released in late 20002, this game had a decent roster from the early part of that year. Funny enough, since I still had my memory cards and save files, that meant my created wrestlers were still there. Played several manages highlighting Hulk Hogan, Trish Stratus, William Regal and Stone Cold.

Lastly we jumped to the Xbox One to play some Fall Guys, and managed to win a few rounds in the limited run Sweet Thieves mode, which meant we were able to get a couple of achievements which was pretty cool and surprising.

Side note: We did have a couple minute issue with the upstream, but my internet connection did not go down fully.

During the stream viewers kicked in a few bits, and also RedFoxCovUK renewed their subscription for the channel! As always Thanks for the support you guys rock!

Fall Guys Achievements

  • Top Tier: Win 7 Episodes
  • One giant leap: Qualify from 100 rounds

For the raid we dropped in on Daemonsw0lf who was playing AI: The Somnium Files - Nirvana Initiative over at twitch.tv/Daemonsw0lf!Dae did ask when I would play it, and my answer is simple, either when I'm gifted it or catch on sale for a reasonable price.

Today's Fitness Boxing 2 daily workout featured Difficult Challenge Combo #2, Difficult Challenge Combo #2 and Block Combo for 34 minutes.

You know with how much I've been playing Dr. Mario as of late I really should do a stream based around the NES games that are available through the Nintendo Switch.

A new week is starting, so let's look back at all the things we played last week which included Overwatch, Star Trek Online, Capcom Fighting Collection, SMite, Persona 4 Arena, Fallout 76, Final Fantasy XIV, Persona 5 Strikers, Sammy Sosa High Heat Baseball 2001, 007 Racing, WWE SmackDown Shut Your Mouth and Fall Guys!

Can We Really Celebrate Independence Day Considering What The SCTOUS Has Done?

Good afternoon everyone,

That said, last night's stream of Overwatch  was rather solid, while we did have a couple of hiccups on the stream, there were no major issues. Big thanks to PandaSweet for being apart of the fun. I picked up three Plays of the Game, all as D.va, and Panda also nabbed one as Zenyatta. Characters I ended up using over the course of the night included Reinhardt, Reaper, Ana, Junkrat, Moira, Brigitte,Tracer and of course, the before mentioned D.va.We discovered that in skirmish mode we can stand on the heads of enemy players, which was a bit silly. On a side note, I seem to be in a trend of getting big triple and quadruple kills on the Gibraltar map.

For last night's raid we dropped in on GlorifiedThief who was play AI: The Somnium Files - Nirvana Imitative over at twitch.tv/glorifiedthief

Today's Fitness Boxing 2 daily workout involved Hook Combo #2, Beginner Combo #1 and Left-Right Step Combo for 28 minutes.

Went after several achievements in the Capcom Fighting Collection after the stream, including the ones focused around Hyper Street Fighter II: The Anniversary Edition... and yes I fully cheesed it, using a second controller to force my way to getting the fight with Akuma, then somehow barely managed to beat him. So at this point we have 31 of the games 45 achievements unlocked, and from what I see the rest involving grinding or hitting some damn near impossible to do moves.

Capcom Fighting Collection Achievements

  • Master of the Fist: In "Hyper Street Fighter II: The Anniversary Edition", fight the secret boss Akuma in a CPU match.
  • Collateral Damage: In "Hyper Street Fighter II: The Anniversary Edition", destroy a background object.
  • The Path of the Warrior: Complete "Hyper Street Fighter II: The Anniversary Edition" in offline mode.
  • Collection Champion: Complete each game in the collection.
  • Practice Makes Perfect: In any game, deal 1,000 damage or higher to an opponent in training mode.
  • Record Breaker: In any game, get 1,000,000 points or higher in offline mode.
  • The Lessons of Saikyo Style: In "Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo", successfully perform a Super KO.
  • Puppet Master: In "Vampire Hunter 2: Darkstalkers' Revenge", use the secret character Marionette.
  • Come On, Baby: In "Vampire Hunter 2: Darkstalkers' Revenge", hit any character with Demitri's Midnight Bliss.

We have passed 3,500 Xbox achievements with a gamer score of 82,767. Not bad for only having Xbox Consoles for 2 and a half years.

Played some Overwatch 2 last night as well, continuing to practice playing as D.va to get an idea of how much she can take in situations where trying to manage her defense matrix.

I would say Happy Independence Day, but how can we celebrate the Fourth of July when in the past two weeks rights and freedoms for many in the United States have been taken away because of a handful of individuals in the pocket of Mitch McConnell and the Republican party? And those corrupt individuals have the balls to say 'no one should be protesting their actions' and they 'deserve a good nights rest' goes to show what types of fucking idiots they are. But let's face it, America is no longer the land... and it's the Republican party who are to blame, for they are the party who embraced Corporate involvement back in the 1980s and who ties everything to a bogus 'faith'.

For today's stream we are going to play some Star Trek Online, namely we're going to drop in on Risa, and more than likely we might also mess around with some other stuff too.
